  • In this video, I'm going to talk about the sad reality about black men. I know that not everyone is going to agree with what I have to say, but I believe that it's important to have a open and honest discussion about these issues.
    Stereotypes and discrimination against black men are epidemic in America and around the world. This video is my way of addressing the elephant in the room - it's time to talk about it. I hope that by sharing my story, I can help start a conversation and help to change the reality for black men everywhere.

    Yeah it's like we buy into the very stereotypes our forefathers ran from. We need to learn to see one another in a more positive light. Stop letting Hollywood imagery and other entertainment based influences prevail how we see and relate to one another. Thanks for opening the conversation. Love from Chicago! Keep up the good work 💪👍

    I’m going through this right now. I’m VP at a bank and one of my employees is black and I always try to set him up for success. I try to do the same type of stuff that other ethnic groups do for each other and he stabs me in the back and throws me under the bus. Under minds my leadership etc. It’s sad, man. We are the only black men at the corporate headquarters. I just don’t get it.
    It could be because he’s older than me. I’m 36 and he’s 46. So, it could likely be an issue he has with working for someone younger than him. I don’t know.
    Anyway appreciate the upload bro.
    I wish we as black men had more cohesion amongst each other but man I don’t know if it will happen in our lifetime. Who knows

      The problem is BM giving into the narrative portrayed by media. I don’t think WM would ever be allowed to realise songs about k*liking one another that is forced on BM. This creates a narrative that BM believe all others like them are dangerous. Instead of creating your own narrative, your more interested in fighting one another. The winner is groups outside...and yet you still do it...

    All facts but cast in particular light. Young balck men are constantly and consistently offered a narrative. Few if any black men are taught about their godliness, the own will power, their autonomy. We aren't taught to be leaders or individuals....unless some other group cam profit from it. And we are taught to hate and attack each other or you are weak. A focus on survival. Yet surviving and thriving are two very different things.

    I've never heard of the term crabs in the barrel. But after looking it up. This metaphor can also fit into the Hispanic community as well. I mean, look at what the Hispanic community has become in the States. Large communities of Hispanics that have a deep culture of crime that is decades old. We have extremely violent Hispanic gangs that are largely compiled of South American immigrants. In places like LA and New York, and really all major cities.The problem with Hispanic and blacks are two sides of the same coin. The saddest part is that we know that the "Crabs in a bucket" problem is real. We see it throughout our lives. And it is depicted in media and movies all the time.

      I disagree... I don’t think BM understand the psychology of the world. If they did they would band together. Being the only BM in a white business is not a win...being one of many BM in a blk business is. I don’t think BM understand why they are at the bottom, what groups do to get to the top, why stereotypes about them exist (hypers*xual - easy way to sentence for r*pe/ gangster image - easy to fit to a crime and imprison), how groups work together and foresee a world where they were leading... I think they are blindly existing in a white mans world and don’t understand the words of Ama Ata Aidoo “over, it’s not over, over where”

    The reason of this is likely nothing more than jealousness. It's honestly nothing more than that. Other races do this as well, it's not a unique black thing. The basic thing is the closest thing you identify with the more competitive you will be.
    EDIT: Also, I am NOT downplaying this. I am just saying what I feel as a white male that grew up in a 99% black lifestyle during my middle and high school years. I actually had it EASIER than some other black males.

  • @worshipwhilewewait
    @worshipwhilewewait 8 місяців тому +1

    Question - do you think that happens on purpose or just by coincidence? Is it a 'race' thing or do ALL men do that ae: doesn't matter if you're black or white, other men competing AGAINST each other in general? Why? That's like killing your own. Case in point - it's NOT just 'black' men...can't we 'disagree' on issues without all the hate and have better conversations to come to a peaceful resolution? What REALLY separates us? DIfferent viewpoints? Different cultures? I'm right and you're wrong attitudes/mindset? And I'm not speaking just or the UK or the US. Let's talk planet wide...WHY does it have to be that way? Truth is - it doesn't. It's up to YOU and ME to make the changes. I think it's time to stop ALL the talking about it and DO something about it. Otherwise NOTHING changes.
    NOTHING.
