"Your mind is like this water, my friend. When it is agitated, it becomes difficult to see. But if you allow it to settle, the answer becomes clear" - Oogway
Here's how I'd describe every theme just by listening to them: Shrek: A journey of self discovery Spirit: Fullfilling a purpose HTTYD: Looking back at the past, and improving for the future Prince of Egypt: Knowing you can be at peace in some way or another Kung Fu Panda: Knowing something has to be done for the greater good, and knowing you'd have to give your life for that to be done
When you said greater good I immedeatly thought of the dialoge in incredibles: “Greater good? I am yo wife, i am the greatest good you are ever gonna get”
You got Shrek and HTTYD down pretty well, and Spirit I’ve never seen, so I’ll say what Prince of Egypt and Kung Fu Panda actually mean. Prince of Egypt: Always keep your faith. Kung Fu Panda: Anything is possible when you believe. Kung Fu Panda:
You'd expect a movie about a panda doing Kung Fu to be stupid, but it turns out it's one of the most beautiful movies ever made, message, story, score, everything. I was always of the opinion that Kung Fu Panda is an underrated fucking masterpiece and I always will be.
Oh gosh, hearing Romantic Flight again... How To Train Your Dragon was, and still is, my favourite movie. Hearing this again played so well gave me shivers!
“One often finds his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it “ “Yesterday was history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift, and that’s why it’s called present “ “Your mind is like water my friend, when agitated, it becomes harder to see, but if you allow it to settle, the answer becomes clear” “There are no mistakes” ( not even you clicking on this video and liking it) And finally “Take it, I have a “bigger one”... 00:00 - Fairytale//Shrek 1:07 - I will always return//Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron 2:35 - Romantic Flight//How to Train Your Dragon 4:06 - The Burning Bush//The Prince of Egypt 5:15 - Oogway Ascends//Kung Fu Panda
1:14 OMG!!!!! spirit stallion of the cimarron my favourite childhood movie it's so underrated...thank you for including it now I need a tissue my eyes are sweating
It has one of the best soundtrack of all animations films and the film itself is beautiful when you think a horse that doesnt speak the entire film can make you feel so much emotion
Every time I hear the How To Train Your Dragon soundtrack I just get chills. It’s such an amazing soundtrack, and one of my favourite Dreamwork’s film of all time.
From Kung Fu Panda, this is my favorite part: Shifu: "Master I got news! It's really bad news"! Oogway: "Oh shifu, it's just news. There is no good or bad." Shifu: "Your vision! Your vision was right, Tai Lung, he's escaped from prison!" Oogway: "That is BAD news!" **** This is all memorization on the top of my head! I don't know if I got anything wrong, BUT I tried.
My favourite part is: Oogway: Ah, I see you have found the sacred peach tree of heavenly wisdom Po: *Mouth full of peaches* Ohh? Is that what this is? I am so sorry, I thought it was just a regular peach tree
Spirit has to be my favorite DreamWorks film of all time, between the outstanding score/soundtrack and how beautifully Hans Zimmer and Bryan Adams work together, combined with the amazing animation for the time.
I think Disney has started to ruin almost all of their movies just because they want money and they put what little kids want to see in almost all of their movies
Jon Pumper It's hard to decide, as hard as it must have been to pick the most beautiful score in Spirit, thinking of "I will always return", "Swimming", "Rain", "Brothers under the sun", "Sound the bugle now"... man they really showed off Hans Zimmer and Brian Adams in that movie. Megamind also has a great score. And The Lion King's "This Land" is ALSO part of Hans' work. Oh wait, that's disney...
Jon Pumper Kung Fu Panda and How To Train Your Dragon have the most beautiful scores IMO. It helps that I love both of them, particularly Kung Fu Panda which has always been dear to me ever since I watched it as a kid, in part due to how much I relate to both Po and Hiccup. I'd have to say Kung Fu Panda though. This franchise is grossly underrated.
John Powell is the mastermind behind most of Dreamworks's great music. You can see that he is the one who contributed most to Kung Fu Panda for example, when you look at the discrepancy of quality between Kung Fu Panda 1/2 and Kung Fu Panda 3 which was composed by Hans Zimmer alone and is far less memorable. The soundtracks to the first two KFP's bear much more resemblance to the HTTYD scores than to Zimmer's solo work on films like Inception or even Gladiator and likewise the Soundtrack for Shrek bears much more resemblance to HTTYD than Narnia, which Harry Gregson-Williams composed. This is not me bashing either Zimmor or Gregson-Williams by the way, I love both of these guys's work, Narnia was my childhood, though I do think Zimmer is stronger when he can play around with electronic sounds as he did in interstellar or Blade Runner 2049. I am just saying that Powell is an underappreciated Genius and his HTTYD soundtracks are some of the most intricate Leitmotif works in modern cinema, i'm not even kidding.
@@lindenlynx Eh, I still think Hans Zimmer beats Powell. I mean come on, Zimmer did the Lion King, Dark Knight Trilogy, Interstellar, Prince of Egypt, etc. Nothing beats Zimmer in my opinion.
Wow, I didn't expect Spirit to actually be on here! I adore that movie and it was my entire childhood (recently watched it after like 10 years and cried my eyes out) but people always forget about it or have never even heard of it! Thank you so much, these are all beautiful and nostalgic.
I absolutely LOVED Spirit as a kid. I still do! My DVD is just to scratched up to work anymore.😧 Anyway, I also LOVE HTTYD, Prince of Egypt, Shrek, Kung Fu Panda. Basically all these.
4:06 that song gives me chills in a good way. It makes me feel like I’m sitting near an open fire after a cold day. Which is ironic because the song is called “the burning bush”. Also reply if you ever actually watched this movie. It’s actually in my opinion one of dreamworks animation’s best movies. (Edit) also Oogway Ascends 5:14 is my favourite song from Kung-fu panda
I agree with you - Prince of Egypt was phenomenal, and the music from the movie was top notch. And Oogway Ascends is one of my top five favorite themes of all time. It's so beautiful to me.
Wow. I’ve never actually gotten a reply from the creator of the video before. Btw your playing is amazing and I wish I could play piano like you. My dream jobs are to either be a musician, chef, or artist.
i’m sitting here in full on tears because these are all some of my favorite scores (especially the httyd) and it’s bringing back so many memories. but it was played so beautiful thank u so much for this ♥️
Prince of Egypt was and still is one of my favourite dreamworks movies to watch, the music was done well, the bonds between the characters was clear as daylight and the overall story telling was gorgeous.
This filled me with so much emotion and just joy of how brilliant DreamWorks can and has gotten before. Although recent movies have been lacking I hope new, driven and creatively inspired stories again soon. Loved the video😏✌❤ Also I think my favs would have to be HTTYD and Kung Fu Panda, and also Prince of Egypt!
When you started playing Spirit's music, I had goosebumps within the first two phrases. There are still tears in my eyes from the music and all the memories. Thank you.

My favorite dream is any of the works of Jon Pumper. His music gives me goosies. I'm sure Tim would agree. Loved loved loved how this was put together with animation. So beautful.
4:15 literally made me lose balance. That song when god was talking to the bush was so epic. And I don’t care what anyone says Kung fu panda was one of dreamworlds best movies and the music was sooo good
I genuinely always cry like a baby every time I hear either Oogway Ascends or Oogway's Legacy. It is written in a way that feels like loss to me, and I'm always reminded of my best friend who died. Yesterday was the one year anniversary of her passing, and with that of course fresh on my mind the last song just punched me in the gut. Amazing job.
How to train your dragon, Kong fu panda, and the prince of Egypt all have great soundtracks. The score for how to train your dragon in general is just phenomenal. And as for prince of Egypt it truly is a one of a kind masterpiece with gorgeous music and an amazing story.
I honestly think that Spirit is such an underrated movie. Plus! The TV series ruined the whole purpose of Spirit being free🤦♀️ He's not meant to always be riddin or kept for
What a gorgeous adaptation of I Will Always Return! Couldn’t help but smile. You are incredibly talented and I hope to see more from you, thank you for such a wonderful nostalgia trip!
Can we just all collectively agree that Pixar back in it’s glory days had one of the best movie soundtracks in any movie to this date? I have not seen a single movie production company, animation or not, do such a beautiful, yet emotional soundtracks such as Oogway Ascends. I cried to that piece of music and still do because it invokes such a feeling of sadness and loss, and Pixar have absolutely nailed that sense of feeling to a tea You cannot get more emotional than how Pixar have done their music. It is like none other, and that’s why it’s so amazing
this gave me the chills and almost made me cry, cause I've watched all these movies, some of them while I was still a kid. You're probably one of my favourite UA-camrs now
My god that piano playing is immaculate. As a keen Piano/Keyboard player myself, Its always good to hear music from another persons perspective. Excellent expression and rhythm my friend, keep it up. I too will be getting my new Roland soon, so definitely looking forward to that. Overall Fantastic, that was superb! :)
nice, its amazing, you wouldnt expect a small channel to be so talented, you need way more publicity. also my favorite is Oogway Acends, i learned how to play it a little bit, i dont know how to play with 2 hands yet so i just played the right hand part, i have a video on my channel of me playing it on a pipe organ
Yesss I'm so glad that 'Burning Bush' was featured It's one of the instrumental songs that can get me super emotional (Though I do adore the rest of these songs and movies)
I'm 20 now and yet the soundtrack to Spirit still hits me right in the feels xd I know every line of dialogue and every lyric lmoa, I watched it so much n its still one of my favourites to this day

When you are capable of perfectly playing oogways ascends: I have the power of god
it reminds me of my childhood bc a puzzle game i always played had this music in the backrohnd

Spirit: Fullfilling a purpose
HTTYD: Looking back at the past, and improving for the future
Prince of Egypt: Knowing you can be at peace in some way or another
Kung Fu Panda: Knowing something has to be done for the greater good, and knowing you'd have to give your life for that to be done

Do you guys realize that the fairytale song from shrek is played every time the DreamWorks logo is shown in all of their movies?
Min Eum I do now.
You know that's bullshit, right? They do it only for the Shrek movies. However this ostensively shows the problem of induction.
Not every time. But yes it has been used very often.
Min Eum well I think that’s because shrek was dreamworks most popular movie? I highly doubt it tho.
Wait whaaaaaaaat
The Prince of Egypt's soundtrack never disappoints.

You have opened my eyes to the musical masterpieces of Shrek. Thank you.
I’m sad my parents didn’t know about the Prince of Egypt when I was a kid. It was such a great movie and I wish I watched it sooner 😭
Plus! The TV series ruined the whole purpose of Spirit being free🤦♀️ He's not meant to always be riddin or kept for
Romantic Flight gave me goosebumps, multiple times !! 😂😍 It was amazing !
My school is doing Shrek this coming semester. Spirit makes me cry
What a gorgeous adaptation of I Will Always Return! Couldn’t help but smile. You are incredibly talented and I hope to see more from you, thank you for such a wonderful nostalgia trip!
this is beautiful
Thank you Ellie!
no problem
Can we just all collectively agree that Pixar back in it’s glory days had one of the best movie soundtracks in any movie to this date?
I have not seen a single movie production company, animation or not, do such a beautiful, yet emotional soundtracks such as Oogway Ascends. I cried to that piece of music and still do because it invokes such a feeling of sadness and loss, and Pixar have absolutely nailed that sense of feeling to a tea
You cannot get more emotional than how Pixar have done their music. It is like none other, and that’s why it’s so amazing
What about Jaime Believes from Rise of the Guardians? That will always be my favorite. Makes me cry almost every time 😭
this gave me the chills and almost made me cry, cause I've watched all these movies, some of them while I was still a kid. You're probably one of my favourite UA-camrs now
6:03 my heart shattered
My god that piano playing is immaculate. As a keen Piano/Keyboard player myself, Its always good to hear music from another persons perspective. Excellent expression and rhythm my friend, keep it up. I too will be getting my new Roland soon, so definitely looking forward to that. Overall Fantastic, that was superb! :)
The Burning Bush is just beautiful and calming. I just love it.
Honestly though DreamWorks has stellar soundtracks and is way underappreciated.
Four words:
Why aren't you famous?
This deserves 1 million likes along with the views the ppl that disliked have no idea on anything. Beauty above all this is
There is a 30% chance of me coming across a tearful video when I stay up late
I can't believe they put Prince of Egypt there!I loved that movie as a kid!
nice, its amazing, you wouldnt expect a small channel to be so talented, you need way more publicity. also my favorite is Oogway Acends, i learned how to play it a little bit, i dont know how to play with 2 hands yet so i just played the right hand part, i have a video on my channel of me playing it on a pipe organ
holy fuckin commas
I know right! They're great! First time in a while someone used proper grammar in UA-cam comments.
FancySkeleton as long as you play enough one hand and get it down then you can focus on the other one while still playing the one you know by heart
Prince of Egypt will always be the best dreamworks movie. Incredible animation, BEAUTIFUL scoring. Fantastic film
Oogway died in such a beautiful way, if you dont cry during that scene you have no soul.
Oogway didn’t die
Your profile pic makes me cry
Sakarias Hansen Andersen yes he did he went to the spirit realm
Oogway Didn't Die He Just Ascended Himself To The Spirit Realm To Make Po the Dragon Warrior
Oogway still alive in our hearts
Why would people dislike this? It’s amazinggg
The spirit theme sounds beautiful on piano. I feel pathetic when I say that but I don’t care. It feels so nostalgic when I listen to it
This was unreasonably beautiful.
Yesss I'm so glad that 'Burning Bush' was featured
It's one of the instrumental songs that can get me super emotional
(Though I do adore the rest of these songs and movies)
I absolutely love Dreamworks films so this medley makes me so happy! I'm now listening to this on loop at work :D Thank you for the awesome medley!
Oogway’s is very peaceful
But sometimes I find the theme sad
I'm 20 now and yet the soundtrack to Spirit still hits me right in the feels xd
I know every line of dialogue and every lyric lmoa, I watched it so much n its still one of my favourites to this day
Precious memories are tied with these movies that are portrayed by the clips and the music. You treat them with the respect they deserve.
Bro this made me so calm sad and just nostalgic. I felt so free honestly. Thanks for letting me relive my childhood.
