A 12 quilómetros dos lagos estão situadas a Santa Cueva e a Basílica de Covadonga. A conhecida como “Cueva Dominica” ou Caverna da Senhora é um lugar de culto e de peregrinação dedicado à Virgem de Covadonga que conta com um meio natural de grande beleza, um lago com água cristalina e uma mítica fonte à qual são atribuídos poderes mágicos. Do outro lado do vale ergue-se a imponente basílica, denominada “Catedral de Covadonga” durante muitos anos.
