Asturias beaches are quite clean. Partly because of the lack of massive tourism. From an Asturian, you are very welcome, but please keep it secret to the masses 🤫 You know, it´s always raining here, water temperature is freezing even in august, there are wolves and bears wandering all around...
I don't think that the beach would interest me bc I live close to the #1 ranked beach in the U.S. The color of sand, landscape, climate, and number of visitors are different. Of course, the language and cultural history of the area are different. With lots to consider, I'm still debating where I could live and be happy...Spain is a close second. TY, Stuart, from the Sunshine State.🌅
I am Sure that the # 1 ranked beach in the U.S. is a PIECE of SHIT compared to those beaches in Spain and other parts of the world. Americans don't know CRAP about Beaches or anything in this world, but they like to think they do, that's why they Keep Making the Same mistakes over and over and over and over again throughout history. Like Now with the Coronavirus.
Hey there, fellow Floridian! I'm a native Floridian and I love Asturias. (Born and raised in Miami and traveled all over our state.) Asturias is equal in my heart to home. In fact, it feels like home because of the kindness of the people. If you love warm water and air temps, then adjusting to Asturian beaches would be hard, but if you like it quiet and peaceful, you would love it here. If you are in northern Florida, then the family friendly atmosphere will be familiar. If you are from the southern half, then the culture and food will be familiar. But what really impressed us was how the Spanish have retained their ancient history and traditions while still modernizing. They have found the perfect balance of tradition and progress. For example, Oviedo has at least four statues dedicated just to motherhood. I live in West Palm Beach and we don't have even one statue to a woman. Not one. Miami only recently dedicated a statue to Julia Tuttle, the city's founder. Asturias will not be for everyone, but I can't imagine anyone not enjoying a visit, at least. It's clean and welcoming. Good people.
England is a good choice for you, nice weather and people speaks English, since Anglosaxons don't like learning foreign language, England fits in you. If not Canada

Your English is great! I just returned from a village near Llanes (Porrúa) and Gijón. I’m ready to go back!
OMG those Beaches.
This is my first time seeing your videos, Stuart. I liked the informative format and nice shots. This June, i will visit Asturias for the first time. It will also be my first time in Spain altogether. Would you mind sharing the name of the first beach shown in the video? The one with the surfers. Definitely won’t be the last videos of yours I watch, in preparation for my trip. Cheers!
Weatherspark says Oviedo daily chance of rain during the wet season is roughly 30-35%. Seems awesome. Shhhhh!
Gijon is my favorite
I bet they are Not going to have a huge Outbreak of Coronavirus there as they don't have a Huge amount of people walking everywhere. I love places like that.
Well, we have to stay at home and cant go on the street just as the rest of Spain
@@pablogonzalezrio5287 Sorry about that, so I guess then that is a National Quarantine. Such Beautiful Place.

i from Asturias ❤❤
What time of year did you visit? We will be visiting in September.
what beach was that? new dog?
3:48 pretty near that stretch of the road is Gulpiyuri the single most amazing beach you will ever find. Its a pitty you missed it...
Asturias is diferent!!!💝
Where do you fly into? Is September very rainy?
We fly into Madrid and then either fly into Asturias regional airport or take the train. The flight from Madrid is about an hour. The train is about four hours. Either way is very easy and convenient.
Julliet and August best.. very good!!!
And best of all, no highrises!
when were you there stu?
What is the little track at the end please :) ?
Nice beaches, but do you see anyone swimming there? Me neither. Very Cold water..and dangerous sea.. It rains more than in London. I lived in Oviedo. Beautiful in pics but it is not easy to live there. People prefer Mediterranean coast for very good reasons. Where quality of life is higher
Como se llama ese pueblo cerca de la playa,al principio del vídeo?En el minuto 1:28- Y como se llama esa playa? Gracias
Stuart, do you have any plans to show what it’s like in Cantabria or Galicia? I remember being fascinated by the Picos de Europa area of Cantabria, especially the little town of Potes.
Hi, yes. At the moment it's a bit hard to travel.
Spain Speaks oh boo, forgot!! Stay safe out there!!
Yeah wondering about that as well. Looks like Asturias and Galicia are the more popular at the moment vs. Cantabria. Not sure if that, in fact, is the case and if so, why?
Stuart, Corona is walking behind you !!!
Can someone tell me the place where the kayakers are ? Thanks
Hi, Ribadesella
Wonderful vlog Stuart, thanks for showing us beautiful Asturias! Which town are you visiting at :40 by the way, with the beautiful surfing beach?
That's San Antolín beach, close to Llanes.
Where are you walking? I was wondering if that was allowed.. interesting....the single lane motorway
Great vid, Asturias is the best place in Spain, gastronomy not so much, if you want the equivalent of the Lake District in spain, look no further!
This region might be a good option instead of the south despite the more rainy weather - which city near the coast would you choose?
Hi Stuart! Do you happen to recall the name of the town that you were walking through at 7:21? Thank you!!
Hi, Ribadesella
Visit Cantabria, is like Asturias
Ya ya....
Wich town is this?
Thanks a lot for the video Stuart! Are you from UK or australia?
Have you noticed the beaches in Asturias clean? Because I am living in Baleric islands at the moment and unfortunately is they are not.
I am planning to visit there. It looks great.
Cheers!
Asturias beaches are quite clean. Partly because of the lack of massive tourism. From an Asturian, you are very welcome, but please keep it secret to the masses 🤫 You know, it´s always raining here, water temperature is freezing even in august, there are wolves and bears wandering all around...
@@antoniolopez2322 Gracias Antonio! Lo voy a mantener en secreto!
My fathers spanish ancestry comes from Asturias
tuviste syerte de filmar esto antes del sabado 14 de marzo en que se decreto el estado de alarma
Ya te digo
Riveting surfing commentary lol 🤣
@@jenniferlorence185 cierto como la vida🤣
Hola Donna, quédate en tu ranking number one!!!! Como dirían en mi tierra para gustos los colores. Pero alguien que no cocina con aceite de oliva poco puede saber. With lots of consider!!! Enjoy!! Reina. Besitos from Spain!!
What are some of the best towns 10,000 to 20,000 people to live in Asturias? I really want to retire there. Looking for quiet town with restaurants, libraries, exercise space, hospital etc relatively close to one of the major cities. I would like to buy a small flat or a 2-3 bedroom house. I am fully bilingual English and Spanish Thanks
Mieres, Langreo and Pola de Siero fit exactly to your requirements.
@@martaalvarez9363 thank you Martha. Really appreciate the advice. I will definitely look at these more closely
