Edit: there will not be a thumbnail contest for this MAP, sorry. Since this is my first time hosting a MAP I want to keep things simple so I'll prob just make it myself. Thank you for your interest though!!
What really kills me about this take on Spiderleg is how he distanced himself from his children because he was so afraid of the pain of losing them. But in that moment when he's sitting by his son's deathbed, and Toadstep is looking up at him, it's like Spiderleg realises that he didn't save himself from the pain. He just robbed himself of the ability to enjoy what time with his loved ones he DOES have. And he looks so full of regret and pain at not having gotten to know his son sooner. It hurts!!
One thing that I absolutely love about this fandom is when people dig up those seemingly barely developed background characters and fill in the gaps to their loose story and make them so likable, give their actions motivation and depth and even make you feel bad for not caring about those characters before. Great storyboard btw, this map will be amazing once it’s finished.
I forgot to say this earlier on but the thought that Spiderleg left to die alone is both incredibly sad but also quite realistic since cats do this in real life too!
I never really liked Spiderleg but this makes me rethink everything. I love this take on why he always acts so distant. The entire storyboard explains it so well, Spiderleg's expressions are right on point
The implication of him catching the sickness from while he was grieving over Toadstep just stabbed me in the heart and threw me off a cliff onto sharp rocks
not interested in any parts but wanted to drop my comment that this is a PHENOMENAL storyboard. extremely excited about this project, especially for a character that rarely is touched on in this way
I always liked Spiderleg, you don’t really realize how much losing a loved one can affect how a person acts. The trauma can make us respond in different ways, and sometimes that way may be hurtful to others.
This actually gave me a lot more appreciation for Spiderleg and his family. It also explained why he wasn't really present in his kids lives which I didn't think that much about before.
I love this take on Spiderleg! Really shows as to why he could´ve acted so absent to his kits. I´d love to take a part in this MAP! If it´s possible, either part 10, 20, 25 or 18. If I don´t get a part, I´d also like to be backup. Ferncloud and Willowpelt are pretty underrated, they had to go through so much, I love them.
I WAS ALREADY CRYING DURING THE FIRST STORYBOARD THEN YOU GO AHEAD AND DO THIS TO ME. I'd love both parts 1 and 2!! However if neither of those are available I'd like part 17! If none of those, backup! Also I love Berrynose!!!
One thing that I noticed, is that a red cardinal appears just when someone Spiderleg is close to is about to die, for example, Shrewpaw pouncing at one before being hit by a car and Toadstep hunting one before getting ill. Red cardinals are known to mean spiritual messengers, particularly when a loved one is letting you know that they are there. This is extremely tragic how each time these reminders are there, death follows. This turns a very well meaning and wholesome fact sour, and I can't help but see that in this.
This is the most DEPRESSING Warrior cat map or even art I've ever seen. it's not just sad imo,it's depressing, There's no happy end, And the fact there's no other background cats makes it feel so lonely and changes the atmosphere dramatically. Usually when a character is sad or dies We can fall back on the other characters but this doesn't even give us a chance. I absolutely love this I can't even explain it right now. Warriors art makes me feel allot but this one is different usually I know what I'm feeling lol
came back to rewatch this masterpiece after learning that Cardinals are symbol of lost loved ones always being with us and I am absolutely crushed,,,, amazing symbolism

I always felt this guy got the short end of the stick in the fandom for his actions, and this feels like a proper tribute to the poor guy. I look forward to this getting finished, but this storyboard is plenty enough for me!

I love how the cardinal is there every time a cat dies or is about to die. It's a really cool detail.
Spiderleg is so underrated. I’ve only seen one other MAP on him,and that was Northflowo’s Legs MAP lol.

This MAP looks so cool ! I don't see too many projects with Spiderleg, and I think the way you're portraying him is very interesting.
