If people had just let go of their assumptions of what the game should be and delve into the story with an open mind then it would most likely be a much better experience for them.
Yeah, it's a shame what happened to this game, I litterally watched no trailer, no news, for keeping the surprise, I played the game, absolutely loved it, and then went on the internet, and saw all thoses LGBT discussions, thoses debate about Neil's writing skills, debates here and there for really poor reasons, when I played the game I saw no feminist propaganda, no LGBT propaganda, and no lack of writing skills whatsoever. I just saw a game that tells a story about the cycle of hatred, and it tells it very well.
My only problem with it is: I wanted revenge for Joel, but then I had to play as the killer for like 10 hours and I just wanted to kill this girl I was playing as. I loved everything except the Abby gameplay after she kills Joel. I just wanted to get through it so I can get back to playing as Ellie. Yes agreed, they need to make tlou3 as quick as they can, not another 7 years, they game would probably be dead by then. Maybe they make a short sequel or an alternative game like Uncharted: the lost legacy but I really want a third game
Judgmental fish part 2 has been a huge financial success, received critical praise from numerous outlets, and maintains a huge fanbase. That's usually all the incentive needed to make a sequel, or in this case a third installment.
Judgmental Fish yeah but the game was left open I have so many questions after I finished that game like it wouldn’t be right if their wasn’t a sequel with that type of ending
LOU2 made me feel things I’ve never felt before while playing a game, it challenged my beliefs, triggered my anxieties classic ptsd symptoms, yet I absolutely loved it. I won’t change a thing about it, I feel like Joel failed to protect Sarah and he was going to do everything to protect Ellie, it was as much for him as it was for Ellie. Joel also wanted some sort of redemption, not saying he didn’t care about her he absolutely did, but Joel acted selfishly and also did many things along the way that could have been avoided. As for Ellie as much as I love the character but ever since she found out she was immune she built up this whole idea about saving the world. When Joel saved her she started struggling with the idea of being just another “regular” human being. Abby well, she was just being Abby! Where’s the steroids gang at? Haha. I enjoyed playing with Abby even though I hated her at first, but after seeing both sides of the story her actions made more sense. Beautiful game! My top 5 of all time for sure.

I have to agree with you. and I played the first game like more than 10 times. His death is hard for me, but like Neil said, my perspective on justice and empathy is definitely challenged.
Ellie never got a chance to reconcile, that was sort of the point in my mind - why she was so upset, because the potential was there to make things right again between them. This story was a miserable mess in my opinion, especially the last few hours. It wasn't deep, it wasn't emotional, it was disappointing and eventually cartoonish in it's over the top bleakness. Gameplay and visuals were top tier though.
TLOU2 was the first game ever to make me feel such strong emotions. I felt everything, from happiness, hatred, sadness, sympathy, etc. I cried both happy and sad tears. I think if a story can make you feel so many emotions then that's when you know the developers did an amazing job.

I finished it a few days ago and I genuinely can't stop thinking about it. I loved the story, characters and the direction they went in, I felt it was a very natural progression from the first story.
Chriss123 and yeah there is so many mixed emotions. Like Joel was killed by Abby for killing her dad, and Ellie wants to kill Abby for killing Joel (Ellie’s dad). It so crazy, that parallel.

I would love to live in tlou universe To help around in Jacksonville, to meet Ellie, to visit Joel's grave, to smell that apocaliptic air, the fear from tomorrow.......... I really felt that I'm there when I was playing this apocalipse simulator
@@Saanders_ yeah, your completely right on that. but good representation is hard to find, especially in video games. Let alone video games this mainstream and high quality.
No game has made me pause, go stand outside and reflect on it as much as this one. I wish non gamers could understand how incredibly powerful this game or any game can be. This one is up there with the best of them. Makes you laugh, cry, scream and everything else. Cannot align with the criticisms of this game by others.
this wonderful experience made me boot up my PS again... it was gathering dust for a long time... no game triggered me anymore... this one did... weird that people say that they did not like it... just my opinion! peace!
they didn't like it because it triggered them. they couldn't accept that the characters acted from emotions, they see those actions as unreasonable and from their perspective they aren't wrong. but the characters have a different perspective. abby lost her father and quite frankly ellie did what she had to to survive. you as a player might disagree with those actions but that's okay, because in that moment the character would disagree with you too. it's a game about accepting the truth and truth is emotions can make us act in ways even we might see as unreasonable. that's why many players were mad when ellie doesn't finish her revenge. because from the players perspective she went trough hell and back just to give up and stop, but from ellie's perspective she started to realize what a mistake she made. (and i know some people will point out she killed 100+ people but don't forget that especially such things can't always be counted towards the full kill count considering you in some cases have the choice between going lethal or sneaking past them)
@Judgmental fish the writing isn't horrible, the choices are made to hard on purpose. The writers found try and force you to like someone over someone else. I think people mix not liking a piece of media and the media being bad. Yes the game has issues, but just because you disagree with the direction in which the story went doesn't make it bad.
Seriously though, never had a game (or really anything else for that matter) just stay in my head for this long. Keep thinking about it regularly even well over a year later.
I need more, more, more, more...This makes me study and do school work effortlessly. I don't even think of the game when studying, merely of Gustavo's talent. I enjoy this a lot and can't wait for more
You should also do a title screen one and different varieties just like the first games ambience... Yes I also listen to them. I'm in love with your work
It's an apocalyptic, cruel and ruthless world though I can't help but feeling comfort and peace in this kind of atmosphere The last of us creates, I couldn't explain it
When I went up onto that roof to turn the power on, I just hung out up there for a few minutes. It was very peaceful with the rain and the feeling of safety from everything you had faced throughout the day.
This music inspires me, it makes me want to become a better person and at the same time it makes me realise how harsh life can be. Help those around you, do not expect anything from them in return. Help doesn't come from the helped, be happy that you are not the one in need. Do not lose hope, do not lose faith...
I have found my people! Lol it does me good to see all these positive comments. Ive seen a little bit, not alot of why people were bitching and frankly thought these people were naive or just need to feel validated. How that happens thru rancorous hate is beyond me tho. Both parts 1 and 2 were emotionally gripping and the story was impressive in its writing. Im glad to see an outpouring of love for such an accomplishment. I feared all the slander would overshadow an amazing story and their impeccable voice talents.
one of the very few soundtracks that i hold in my heart, the first game has had such a big impact on my life and so has the second one. It makes me beyond sad that people miss the point of this game, such a well done franchise in every department from graphics to story. absoulte masterpiece. Gustavo came through in both games, what a amazing soundtrack.
This game means the world to me, it's hard to explain how much I loved it, even though it was really, really sad. It hurts my heart to see Ellie ending the game alone, but I understand how important it was for her to get her revenge even if it meant losing Dina. What a masterpiece, Naughty dog.
Yeah at first you think that Ellie make a bad decision by leaving everything to find Abby but she had no other choice, her mind is in peace now, she can move forward in her life. Just the same as you, you don't know how much this game means to me, it's really much more than a game
I'm in the middle of an incredibly stressful period of work and study, your videos about TLOU2 and Death Stranding are literally keeping my mind sane, thank you really
Don't forget lonely as hell, like even when you're riding around with Dina the music and the atmosphere just seems so lonely.. the banjo and guitar just strumming along....
to call this a game is an understatement, to have not only these life like characters with emotions, lives and goals but backed by this incredible soundtrack, visuals and story, it makes for a truely amazing experience, say what you will about the story, like it or not you cant deny this is yet another fantastic creation by naughty dog, and i truley hope they continue to thrive as a company in the future and continue to keep me excited for what incredible stories they have to share with us next
This game made me an emotional person. When it rains, i listening this game's relaxing musics. I guess this game can be one of the greatest video games of the world. Thank you Naughty Dog.
At first i was really not happy, but as I went and grew to understand her character more and more, and now looking back retrospectively, I like the character and look forward more so to my second run through with her plot. It was an extremely gutty call by naughty dog, but one that the gaming industry will thank down the line.

I cant deny the fact that this game is a masterpiece .... This is literally the best game I've ever played . No other game has ever played with emotions at this level and still live up to my expectations. I understand the hate this game is getting because of the story ....this game is differently build and I respect that. Naughty dog did a great job .
most of the criticism is over Joel's death we all knew Joel wouldn't be around forever and now for once in her life Ellie is on her own so she needs to use what Joel taught her and survive
I think they couldn't have done a better job with this game. This is what post apocalyptic civilization is about! amazing soundtrack, beautiful atmosphere. Loved it
TLoU already made me cry but now Part 2 as well. When movies can't get me crying, then it has to be a game. Just a wonderful game. Let's see how Part 3 will be if there will be one (I really hope so)
It's been 4 years since PartII and I'm looking forward to The Las Of Us PartIII. Its gameplay, graphics, music, characters and atmosphere are much more than many games🔥🔥❤❤👏👏
I haven't played the game, only watched a gameplay as I didn't have the console needed. but man, man the whole plot, characters, soundtrack and environment ? the way we experienced both sides and came to understand their actions ? they were all too good. Rafael Cabrera watch Nathan zeds review. He totally changed my perspective and now I love this game.
The very first ost kills me. I see his face everytime
I'm proud to have been alive during the release of this game. Best game of all time for me personally.
Its not just a game....we all know....
@@Just1Dev It's an experience
I finished it a few days ago and I genuinely can't stop thinking about it. I loved the story, characters and the direction they went in, I felt it was a very natural progression from the first story.
I finished it 3 days after it came out and I still can't stop thinking about it
Chriss123 I know right. I think about it daily. Its crazy what this game does to you mentally.
@@codym3222 yep fr. Just when u think ur over it, something reminds u of it and ur thinking about it all over again.
So many mixed emotions.
Chriss123 that’s why the game is so good. I don’t get how people can hate this game.
Chriss123 and yeah there is so many mixed emotions. Like Joel was killed by Abby for killing her dad, and Ellie wants to kill Abby for killing Joel (Ellie’s dad). It so crazy, that parallel.
40:58 I can not say how much pain and sorrow has slept in this, combining with the rain and the view ....
I absolutely love this game, I understand the criticism too, but I still love the game, no game has ever made me feel so many emotions, I think it was most unique experience I ve ever had, it’s gonna stay with me for life, and that’s what matters to me. Thank you ND for making this masterpiece.❤️
i've noticed that it's the kind of game that doesn't put any pressure on you
Ellie can stay at the same place for hours and the game won't tell anything to you
I would love to live in tlou universe
To help around in Jacksonville, to meet Ellie, to visit Joel's grave, to smell that apocaliptic air, the fear from tomorrow..........
I really felt that I'm there when I was playing this apocalipse simulator
Where would a safe state be to live in the crisis?
TLOUS2 is a masterpiece imho
Yea, The Lesbian of Us part 2 really is a masterpiece
Masterpiece yet can explain why 🤡
@@jeffreyrosenfeld7543 you haven't played the game to say that. Sexuality isn't impacting the story or gameplay
@@Saanders_ yeah, your completely right on that. but good representation is hard to find, especially in video games. Let alone video games this mainstream and high quality.
@@jeffreyrosenfeld7543 Glad you agree
No game has made me pause, go stand outside and reflect on it as much as this one. I wish non gamers could understand how incredibly powerful this game or any game can be. This one is up there with the best of them. Makes you laugh, cry, scream and everything else. Cannot align with the criticisms of this game by others.
it’s currently 10:26 AM and it’s storming outside my window. perfect music for it
I have NEVER cried from a video game except for tlou2 and Lis. Tlou2 had such a big emotional impact on me.
this wonderful experience made me boot up my PS again... it was gathering dust for a long time... no game triggered me anymore... this one did... weird that people say that they did not like it... just my opinion! peace!
i agree, i think this game was amazing
they didn't like it because it triggered them. they couldn't accept that the characters acted from emotions, they see those actions as unreasonable and from their perspective they aren't wrong. but the characters have a different perspective. abby lost her father and quite frankly ellie did what she had to to survive. you as a player might disagree with those actions but that's okay, because in that moment the character would disagree with you too. it's a game about accepting the truth and truth is emotions can make us act in ways even we might see as unreasonable. that's why many players were mad when ellie doesn't finish her revenge. because from the players perspective she went trough hell and back just to give up and stop, but from ellie's perspective she started to realize what a mistake she made. (and i know some people will point out she killed 100+ people but don't forget that especially such things can't always be counted towards the full kill count considering you in some cases have the choice between going lethal or sneaking past them)
same here, i didnt use my ps for a long time until this game release and i loved every moment of it (sorry about my english)
I finished the game about a month and a half ago, I still think about it everyday. What a masterpiece.
Seriously though, never had a game (or really anything else for that matter) just stay in my head for this long. Keep thinking about it regularly even well over a year later.
same here bro lol
same here man i still comeback to hear the ost and bring memories
Slept listening to this and woke up with a clicker attacking me
Pretty damn sure it was a nightmare
Unless it was literally one of her relatives with a clicker or like tapping something 😂
@Margaux Tybus imagine shifting to the last of us-

I need more, more, more, more...This makes me study and do school work effortlessly. I don't even think of the game when studying, merely of Gustavo's talent. I enjoy this a lot and can't wait for more
You should also do a title screen one and different varieties just like the first games ambience... Yes I also listen to them. I'm in love with your work
It's an apocalyptic, cruel and ruthless world though I can't help but feeling comfort and peace in this kind of atmosphere The last of us creates, I couldn't explain it
I walked the Mojave Wasteland while listening to this.
it was a magical experience.
Fallout & TLOU is such a powerful combo holy shit, I'm sure it was like you ascended to a whole other realm of existence
When I went up onto that roof to turn the power on, I just hung out up there for a few minutes. It was very peaceful with the rain and the feeling of safety from everything you had faced throughout the day.
I did the exact same thing!
After a month, I`m still shattered! I`m still crying! I`m still .....
Same...
Same
i cried 3 times during my playthrough. all three times were during parts with joel in them
"If somehow the Lord Gave me a second chance at that moment, i would do it all over again." - Joel. Honestly, that line was beautiful.
I'm also very happy to see so many people who loved the game
one of the very few soundtracks that i hold in my heart, the first game has had such a big impact on my life and so has the second one. It makes me beyond sad that people miss the point of this game, such a well done franchise in every department from graphics to story. absoulte masterpiece. Gustavo came through in both games, what a amazing soundtrack.
This game is a masterpiece!
“Masterpiece”

@@JohnSoapMacTavish-tb6pk why most of TLOU 2 hater is cod fan?
This game means the world to me, it's hard to explain how much I loved it, even though it was really, really sad. It hurts my heart to see Ellie ending the game alone, but I understand how important it was for her to get her revenge even if it meant losing Dina. What a masterpiece, Naughty dog.
Yeah at first you think that Ellie make a bad decision by leaving everything to find Abby but she had no other choice, her mind is in peace now, she can move forward in her life. Just the same as you, you don't know how much this game means to me, it's really much more than a game
T L O U II was incredible!!!
It's the quiet periods of the game that allow the narrative to function.
Reading all these teary-eyed reminiscent comments and the rain vibes takes me right back to Owen’s aquarium
One of the very few interactive experiences that moved me to the brink of tears. This, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit.💓
I'm in the middle of an incredibly stressful period of work and study, your videos about TLOU2 and Death Stranding are literally keeping my mind sane, thank you really
I hope the stress goes away fast.
The sound effects in this game BLEW MY MIND, especially the guns and shattering glass.
Idk if y'all agree, but 9:20 (-ish) is where the best part kicks in. And then 11:18 (-ish) is where the best part of the best part kicks in.
pls do u know the name of this soundtrack?
@@jaaniela sadly not
Ellie: ah yes, rain, nice
Dina meanwhile: pain, suffering, vomiting, curled up on a couch
На душе становится так необъяснимо спокойно, но в то же время и печально. Спасибо Нилу Дракману за эту историю!

i under estimated the power of that instrument , didn't know it could bring so much vibe
say anything about the story but this damn game gives me hell of an emotional rollercoaster everytime I play.
I loved this rainy area in the game. I totally hung out and enjoyed the atmosphere for a while.
The other day I saw a comment that left me wondering a lot, because it says Ellie was the last of us.
The atmosphere of this game is like my soul. Tired, gloomy and homogeneous
Don't forget lonely as hell, like even when you're riding around with Dina the music and the atmosphere just seems so lonely.. the banjo and guitar just strumming along....
@@hakeem.jwilliams7406 Yes I agree with you
Thank you for all this music! I'm listening it for the whole day long ♥
to call this a game is an understatement, to have not only these life like characters with emotions, lives and goals but backed by this incredible soundtrack, visuals and story, it makes for a truely amazing experience, say what you will about the story, like it or not you cant deny this is yet another fantastic creation by naughty dog, and i truley hope they continue to thrive as a company in the future and continue to keep me excited for what incredible stories they have to share with us next
Please make something like that but more with sounds of surroundings and less with music. With rain of course 🌧 I need something for reading 📖
This is actually helping me get through my finals
im literally going to bawl my eyes out i swear. no game ever made and will make me feel so many emotions
this music has such a special undescribable vibe, feels so cozy and warm yet so cold and has an abandoned feeling, like if u agree
This has been my go to music for taking exams. 10/10 would recommend
I have to play this game once again. It's an incredible piece of art.
I listen to this while studying and writing essays. Can't wait to replay this game once I'm finished with university!
This game made me an emotional person. When it rains, i listening this game's relaxing musics. I guess this game can be one of the greatest video games of the world.
Thank you Naughty Dog.
I have never thought i had be in love with animated character and that is ellie 💕
playing as ellie was amazing
abby on the other hand was bitter but doable
At first i was really not happy, but as I went and grew to understand her character more and more, and now looking back retrospectively, I like the character and look forward more so to my second run through with her plot. It was an extremely gutty call by naughty dog, but one that the gaming industry will thank down the line.

The best visuals ever made and the storyline is just awesome.how could the director visualise the things for this script .so deep
The last of us have a wholesome soundtrack,it's just...perfect.
I can see the Last of us as a legend that will be passed from generation to generation. This is not just a game or a movie anymore for it delivered something greater than that. This brings a totally new Immersive experience. I cant express into words my awe and love for this game
I cant deny the fact that this game is a masterpiece .... This is literally the best game I've ever played . No other game has ever played with emotions at this level and still live up to my expectations. I understand the hate this game is getting because of the story ....this game is differently build and I respect that. Naughty dog did a great job .
It may not be the game we wanted, but it’s the game we needed.
I don't mind dying alone in the woods if this is playing in the background.
most of the criticism is over Joel's death we all knew Joel wouldn't be around forever and now for once in her life Ellie is on her own so she needs to use what Joel taught her and survive
4:08 The Ellie and Dina theme are so touching and beautiful.
This theme are " The Cycle of Vengeance Continue "
One of my fav games TLOU2 is born and the one who will recreate it didn't born yet
I return to this every month,
I think they couldn't have done a better job with this game.
This is what post apocalyptic civilization is about!
amazing soundtrack, beautiful atmosphere.

This game is masterpiece. So much better than the first one 👏👏
Whoever is behind it ..... he created a masterpiece .... it's like the first great love that only exists once in life
The composer is Gustavo Santaolalla, the same guy who composed TLOU 1 soundtrack
TLoU already made me cry but now Part 2 as well. When movies can't get me crying, then it has to be a game. Just a wonderful game. Let's see how Part 3 will be if there will be one (I really hope so)
I love reading the comments about how emotional it made people, completely different then what I was seeing when it first came out.

I haven't played the game, only watched a gameplay as I didn't have the console needed. but man, man the whole plot, characters, soundtrack and environment ? the way we experienced both sides and came to understand their actions ? they were all too good. I wish I'll be able to play this series myself in the future.
