- In this talk, Harry Dent shows how the massive Baby Boom spending trends peaked in late 2007 and we have been in a naturally slowing economic environment ever since with unprecedented debt levels weighing. Hence, central banks decided to just print money nonstop to counter this trend. The problem is we now have a global financial asset bubble at $525 trillion that is near twice the debt bubble it was designed to cure. Mr. Dent forecasts this bubble will burst this year and shows that history says the first crash alone will be around 50% in 2-3 months, as occurred in 1929. That first crash could start as soon as early June. The good news is that a crash into 2022/23 will clear the economy of these financial asset bubbles, including real estate, and shed a lot of debt and zombie companies that we should have back in 2008-09. Then the Millennial generation will drive the next long-term boom from 2024 into 2036/37. Strategy: Get out of risk assets now, into long-term Treasuries, not gold-and back into stocks and risk assets between late 2022 and late 2023.

Why is that? Housing prices are out of wack, Blackrock is heavily investing in real estate, commercial loans are the new market bubble, and the stock market is heavily manipulated. Government (new admin) has mentioned "the great reset". The previous administration mentioned "a storm is coming". Could be that the cycle is due for another crash. Can't keep printing money and passing trillion dollar bills without consequences.

it's not just Harry though - over half the really good hedge fund managers and economists are all saying pretty much the same thing - but the timing is indeed the tough one - I'm calling the top by end of September - at the absolute latest and the RSI on the weekly charts are screaming divergence and time to sell - more likely to be around the weekend of 6th - 8th August. Mark my words!

Don't narrow your mind, he is talking as investor, time frame is 5 10 and 20 years , and he is right. Its ok for now to invest. But you have to know when to get out . Buy undervalued stock at historic low point always the way for investment. Now its just trading the range buying shares at some how low price but still over value and sell it to a more stupid trader .
It’s easy to clown on this dude for constantly calling for a crash. I think there definitely will be a massive crash, but maybe Harry underestimates how long the Government can keep the music running.

If you only look at financial metrics then I agree. But if you look at geopolitics and other metrics, not only can you see a major crash this year, also world war 3 this decade. I rank Bernanke first as the most hated person in history well ahead of Adolph Hitler.

only reason his prediction has not fulfilled is because governments are pumping ridiculous amounts of cash into the economy. They can postpone the crash for a while but its coming. But ofc you must know better than an economist doing hours of research.

I moved out of stocks after going down this rabbit hole last summer.
It increased 62.5% since that day and I just watched it happen.
This dude literally makes this prediction every single year sometimes multiple times a year. Now eventually he might be correct and then he’ll talk about how smart he was, but his batting average if he was a professional baseball player would be the worst in the history of baseball. In fact his hitting ability would be so freaking bad he never would’ve even played high school ball.

I agree 100%. But this time IS different. This bubble is a sigma 3 just one notch below Japan's bubble in the 80"s. It will be similar to the 1930's but the standard of living now is so much higher it won't have as much impact. Still going to be a doozy. Just have at least half your money out of stocks and you should do ok.

They are not right now, the market is still euphoric all around people piling in at the top. Most retailers buy with their emotions, sure a few win..but there will be a lot of losers who bought so late in the bull market.

Harry I am 76 yrs and always had a cautious attitude re: your forecasts and never took lasting notice of them. This presentation, however, seems airtight - well thought out , well presented, and I admit I am taken with it - kudos....

With the huge amount of baby boomers getting close to retirement, they'll be taking a ton of money out of their 401ks.
He said crash in April of '21 a few months back or he will retire. Then changed it to Mid June '21. Well, here we are. Markets at all-time highs. All he has to say is that several asset classes fueled by the fed are in enormous bubbles instead of predicting crashes, and I would agree with him.

Like most of the bigger name prognosticators, he's made some accurate calls and some less than accurate calls. I think his population demographic cycles are worth paying attention to. I disagree with him on gold and crypto because ultimately we'll go to hyperinflation since the dollar is fiat. Sure, the initial crisis will most likely be deflationary, but the imbeciles at the Fed and in government will try to print their way out of it. They just won't be able to help themselves.

Property is up near 200% since you started calling this crash. Put that into perspective. A 50K deposit would of got me a $500K property that is now worth 1.5M. With the amount of rent I am paying in comparison to what interest I would be paying, that property would be well towards being paid off.

There might be so many investments out there but if profits must be considered which is actually the sole aim of every investment then I'll advice you go into stock because it has a higher profit rate than most investments out there

I'm concerned that the advice is to buy the additional debt of the organizations (governments and central bank mechanized economies). I think stagflation then hyper inflation is our future, and dollar-denominated government debt doesn't work in my opinion?
Is Mr. Dent’s demographic calculations able to adjust for ILLEGAL immigration? When hoards of foreigners walk across our borders, do his calculations adjust for those that work versus those that receive welfare? Seems like these factors might affect the economy.

It’s nearly impossible to predict what’s going to happen or when. These times are unprecedented. A crash is definitely coming. He’s right. It’s a matter of guessing when.
I'm looking for the peak in March for Bitcoin (same month in 2000 when the dot com bubble burst) , and April for stocks. If not that, August for crypto, September for stockmarket.
