Canadian here, and as many Canadians, I've been falling deeper and deeper into depression, especially since the debate, wondering if we would soon be sharing our great free border with a fascist state. So worried as well for my many US friends under the possible orange dictatorship and full on regression into an anti-science culture. This single speech by Kamala Harris and seeing Brian's infectious enthusiasm has done more to uplift my mood than the best anti-depressant. There is hope now. *Canadians for Kamala!* 👍

Yeah, my thoughts exactly! She's my age and we grew up with Twisted sister's "We're Not Gonna Take It" and that line had the same generational power. Although Obama and Kamala (myself too) are technically Boomers, we are often called "Tweeners" born in the early 60s on the cusp of Gen X and were the big brothers and sisters that whole generation looked up to...lol. "We won't go back" has that same generational feel as "We're not gonna take it" and I'm so behind her message.

Note: von der Leyen is the effective president of the European Union for the next 5 years, thankfully 💜 Kamala is not the only lifesaver to protect us from fascism with huge credentials and immense experience and a great heart, but von der Leyen, as strong as she is, isn't as strong as Kamala and doesn't have the amazing character and charisma that Kamala has. Von der Leyen can't do it alone and doesn't have the ability to rally people behind her as Kamala does.

I’m so glad that Biden waited until after the convention to make his announcement because they wasted time at the RNC focusing on Biden and running against him but now that Kamala is running they have to take the remaining 104 days to come up with a whole new campaign to run against her. Her speech even though slightly short was straight to the point, had a clear succinct message, explained actual policy goals, mentioned accomplisments, and skipped the unnecessary fluff statements most rallies have. Major respect since longer rallies with fluff doesn't really add that much value to the campaign and just wastes people's time. Wish this becomes standard.

I admit I wasn’t entirely sure about Kamala initially but this speech has helped change my mind. Very articulate and inspiring, and such a sharp contrast to Trump.

I am sitting here in Northern Germany, it is late at night and I have a grin on my face, for the first time I have hope that America will vote Blue.
