This was my sophomore year at Arizona. I was a bit mad I couldn't see the game because of the Colorado UCLA game. When I heard Holiday went down, I thought it was over and then they switch to this part. My ex and her friends were with me at my dorm and we were watching. They had never seen me watch football before. When Battle caught it and blitzed for the endzone, I was screaming my lungs out and hugging and lifting them. My ex was laughing so hard and even cheering too. Fortunately, I have a better gal now that loves watching the games with me, but still, this was a great memory.

I also had to watch the COLO/UCLA game and I kept hoping they would switch to the ND game which they did, and this was the first play after the switch! I lost my shit!

I remember listening to this on the radio at work and running around the back room in excitement right after I was so mad they let Mich St score again on 4th down right before that.

I almost died after this play. True story. ND fan and I was at the very top in the last row and when I jumped in celebration, someone pushed me back on accident and I almost flipped backwards over the top. I remember looking down and seeing the concrete before someone pulled me back in

They never should have fired coach willingham he played at MSU with my dad and was a great guy for ND...one "so so" season at ND (his 2nd year) and hes gone.....so sad to me

Man it was nice to hear Tony Roberts call on this play. I really miss that guy, though Don Criqui is very good. It's just that I grew up with TR and he is still imo the best.

Remember that season like it was yesterday. Every week you had no clue if the offense was gonna move the ball or when would Carlisle Holiday get hurt? Fortunately ND’s defense was solid that year and Shane Walton was a monster. The FSU game was great!

Holy crap! HUGE ND fan here, watched this a million times and I will never forget where I was at when I saw this happen, I was going nuts!!!!!! BUUUUUUUUT, fellas we got a false start not only on the TE, but on the QB as well. Fuck it tho, GOOOOOOO IRISH!!!

Irish fan here, and I agree, that Rogers catch was pretty incredible. But I'd still rather see this one a hundred times!

the best program, as it goes hand-in-hand with a great education...No other college(s) has/have that history of both combined.

Why cant this video include Rogers catch on the possesion before. That catch was one of the best ive ever seen in my life, but there is no video that I can find that shows it. I was in the stands for this game, it sucked, but it was a good game, I want to see that catch tho.

1:22 a young Mike Denbrock. He honestly doesn't look much different. I'm a HUGE fan of that man. Forget his coaching and recruiting prowess, which are both superb....he is one of the most down to earth men I've ever met. TyWilly??? Nice man, AWFUL coach. Go Irish!!!! Beat the Buckeyes!!!!
    LOVE THEE NOTRE DAME.

That was a real cinderella story when pat dillingham came off the bench and threw the game winning touchdown. Arnaz Battle was a good receiver.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? Yeah, REEAALLL awesome coach. He really kicked ass at Washington. Go check on his record, and get back to me.
The higher ups at ND saw the writing on the wall and did the right thing. Weis may have won with that Brady Quinn Class, but he also lost with the next 3 classes that didn't even rate in the top 25 handed to win by losingham.
They did him wrong??!! If you come back with the race card I will send you home packing.

Don't forget also, he was ordered by Notre Dame to fire his horrid offensive coordinator...and he flat out said no. Then Washington told him to do it, and he did.
Bottom line: If he could have done what he's been doing lately (with UW) against USC while he was with Notre Dame, he would have won many more games and still have his job.

He was the best imo, I miss tony alot. ND football aint the same without him. But he probably would have had a heart attack seeing how the Irish played after he left. Don Criqui is okay, but nobody is like Tony...

There were two way more amazing plays in this game, both made by Charles Rogers. One, a catch against a ND player's helmet, two, a touchdown catch where he grabs the ball falling out of the endzone and sticks one foot down just inbounds. It was disgusting. Is it on youtube? Of course not. Because MSU blew the game on pop warner-level tackling on this stupid play.
