I have this set and it is proving difficult for me I've not even finished build 1 for the main engine assembly I've built up and taken apart several times certainly the hardest thing I've worked on
That was very useful thank you
In Poland, this set currently costs as much as the Ford Raptor! now you can compare the number of functions, the price is the same!
Danggg. That’s a great deal. Wish I lived in pole land. Here in the United States it currently costs 230$. And it keeps going up!
Maybe cuz Europe didn't get the F 150?
It doesn't cost $230 it costs $200 but still that and amazing deal!!!
€129 in Netherlands 😎
Here is costs like 120
I think think the Lego designers did a better job on this than Land Rover itself. If the real thing looked as boxy as this, it would be more desired and closer to the original.
ThunderBolt47 Definately
Landrover really need to see this design 🤣
I also agree!🤣👍
Agreed. Land Rover really botched this one up. The least they could have done is called it something else....
PRETENDER....
They are kinda moving away from the original design with the velar, new sport and evoque.
I think the Lego version looks way better than the irl one. I love the boxy design of it
The new hubs look amazing. Super deep for decent steering. Thanks for getting this up so fast .

RacingBrick that music was bot necessary
Great review !!! and more new parts to weigh out!!! It's been a busy year on all these new parts!!
@@randhir4278 whatever music I choose there'll be always someone who does not like it.
You do realise the color is completely wrong form the real thing
Yeah they sent me the wrong version...
He: total build time 5 hours
Me:taking 5 hours to finish one bag
The small engine you did to test the gears looks so cool. Well done!
this set has all the features I spent most of the early 90s trying to retrofit to my 8850 jeep set, it even has the gearbox in the same place I put it (I should add that I never succeeded except in the loosest possible sense, but I had a lot of fun and learned a lot trying)
I’m currently building this set, and your video helped me realise I had an error on my roof, where the cream panels meet the black frame.
Thanks a lot. You’ve saved me a lot of aggravation down the line.
I've just finished building it - after almost 20 years i came back to Lego. Love it.
P.S. I've attached rear spring in wrong hole, so thanks for Your repair tutorial.
Love your video and really like the drivetrain test with the motor! Great review overall and I would agree with your points👍🏼
This will be the most reliable LR ever!
i predicted a stupid comment like this would appear
There’s already a repair guide 😂🤣
@@mustardseed8407 what's stupid about it?
Haha
Thank you for this Land Rover Defender product review.
The wheels look fantastic, I need to get some of those. Nice and a very realistic design, reminds me of many actual high performance wheels. Would look great in a sports or racing car.
thanks for the review! I love the colour and am definitely going to buy someday
Thank you for your great review. Very helpful for me.
This looks epic! Definitely one of the Technic sets on my wishlist!
i have one
What a Great Review!
Excellent video
My regards to you man
Awesome attention to detail!
Thanks for the review. Surely this is one of the better LEGO Technic sets this year. The only thing that is a bit of a pity is that we again get a new technic panel colour. It does suite the set though.
Love the time laps. World be good to have longer doors to match closer to the Defender itself
Gran set y gran revisión. Fantastic review like.
I’ve watched this 34 times because of the music and how much I love this set, don’t have it yet but I can’t decide over this set and the Chiron or Sian
The color choice is awesome !! It's the green jeep from my childhood memories !! I'm tempted to buy it because of that, and also because the gear seems interesting and there are nice suspensions. We'll see. Good idea. I hope they do a "good" bicycle soon or a Ford GT. :)
i have this set and never knew the gearbox even worked and stuff.... this makes the set way cooler.
It looks very sturdy and classic !!!
Nice, I am so excited to build this set.
Those floating pillars are there for structural rigidity. These are also present on the Toyota FJ Cruiser.
Great review/analysis. Just bought one. Having only ever built the Rally car from 2018 the build process of this one almost looks too intermediate. Other than that love the completed design, and I have no real issue with the color.
This set may have the best suspension of any technic set to date. Even better than the 4 by 4 (42099) 🤗
This is so well filmed!
Wow, very professional review, great work!
Yea nice! But the real new Defender also should come with extra pieces! Just in case you break something on the trail!🤣👍nice build thought!
If u motorized this set it'd be awesome
Would need some packaging genius 🤔
@@the364yt i think that if you motorized it, you will need to take most of the transmission
That’s what I was trying to find out.
I probably won’t get it now
It's already motorized by LEGO
Then you'll have to remove the transmission, which is the main point of interest on this
Great video will be tackling a crane in one of my upcoming videos
The greatest British off road suv created in the hands of the brick master.
How to fix the gearbox: Flip the sticker :^)
Also c'mon, that color is great
Just got this set, can’t wait to build it!
I got it for christmas and it looks sick
It has numbered bags, i salute the designers
Lego sets have had numbered bags for quite a while now
@@ZaibatsuHeavyIndustries not all of them, i recently got the technic 911 rsr and it didn't have numbered bags, i hate when they don't include hem so you have to pour all the pieces out onto the table all at once :/
Now I know what would happen if Meccano had a one-night stand with Lego and didn’t use protection, it will create this! I’m currently working on this one, but I got the MOC static one and honestly you do need full concentration, especially when the instruction manual is PDF and admittedly my fingers are sore as some of the complicated pieces are apart and you have to fit them together, (the other side of not being able to buy the Lego version as it’s usually up to 3 times more expensive than the MOC version, but seriously who doesn’t like a sweet bargain???) I must admit I’m enjoying this build, it’s challenging when you’re old like me with nerve problems but it’s intriguing as well as mesmerising to see how all the parts connect. I would recommend this set
Honestly I love this set so much, but I still wish they hadn’t made the gear box so hard on the u joints, because mine keeps ceasing up and making cracking sounds because of all the weight of the gear box, and I need to keep it in the lower gears.
Great Review! It looks to be a very good Technical build, lots of gears, moving parts, a real Technic build. It is a really big set. The OD green will be good for the military enthusiasts MOCs. I will be picking this set up for sure
i need to get this
@Your Dad as close as Lego will ever get!
Overall such a great looking set. :) Awesome!
I just got it. It’s insane! It’s also massive so make sure you have room for it. It’s also really fun to build, I actually enjoyed it. Just make sure you find the right deal cuz I got one for 150 which is a steal compared to the original price.
Very good review, thank you
Cool video with many smart ideas. I liked your comparsion with real thing. I did speedbuild of same set but your video has some features that are really impressive and inspiring
Love the video. This Land Rover is my 1st Lego build. My wife surprised me. Challenging! I've finished Section #1. I think I did it right but all the gears aren't moving in unison. Is there a function test at the end of each section to determine if you've screwed up before moving forward and making a bigger problem? Thanks for your input.
I suggest to have a look at this page, there're also verification steps to help with the build - racingbrick.com/2020/04/lego-technic-42110-land-rover-defender-ultimate-repair-guide/
At 6:43, I wonder if there's space to swap the gears around so that it's 24/8 instead of 8/24? That way the adding the PF motor may be more feasible and it should be a small change to achieve mobility. Or at worst, use two medium gears (16/16) or even 20/12 gearset?
Yeah! Good review. But it need Adjustable suspension and diffs locks and motorized (gear down) . 🙂
Cant wait for the instructions. I wish Lego would have brought out a motorized model
Same but the original one is pretty cool to tho
Try to connect a motor to directly the driveshaft and set the gearbox to neutral. That should eliminate the friction from the gearbox.
And what would be the point to run the system in neutral? :)
I really really dig the color!
LOVE OLIVE GREEN COLOR❤️
I like it simply because it looks more like the legend that is the classic Land Rover Defender than the new tosh!
This is a great set! I personally was not a fan of the roof rack and used the parts for a nice front bumper instead. I also used some parts from my own collection to make a little hood prop that folds down in front of the engine nicely but is a bit fragile.
You’re like me, something doesn’t quite sit right we fix it our way, haha love that nice job dude.
@@Ntbr2030 donkey boner
I've been saving up for months, I got $170 and today I'm getting $10 from jobs. Can't wait to buy this and I get it tomorrow cause of Amazon prime!!!!
i like the color
You can replace the dark gray package on the top with one of those big battery boxes and it would look kinda similar
And it'd become very unstable with that amount of weight on the roof :)
i had one but it ahd cracking issues, i rebuilt the entire chassis while paying close attention to all the potential causes, i watched youtube videos but nothing could fix it, it was great but i was too anooyed by the crachling so i used it for parts, it is a great set, just pay attention when building so you don't get annoyed
Just drive it in neutral
I wish I could build this and drive it :D
I just got this set! :D
Looks like the real thing!
(6:01) You can just turn the sticker for the gearbox around!
That was what I was thinking too.
This set is exeptional
This just makes me want it more. Time to start saving up!
Dont so it. Lego gets worse more and more. Defenetly not worth 177 Euros without power functions...
@@Similex1 yes, you're right
I want it for looks, not play value.
@@ryanfrogz Its way to overpriced. When you dont touch it or anything buy the parts on Bricklink for a cheap price. Or look intp the sets of Xingbao or Qihhui...
Wish they did something like this for the wrangler rubicon
The pistons in my Defender's engine move a lot slower than they should while moving the car. What kind of mistake did I make?
Thank you. My is on the way
RM8 LEGO Garage - BrickGarage привет ))
Mine too
Very cool lego video keep it up :-)
Preordered my kit
I love these cars althougth they ar'nt much of a "off road" vehicle, there still cool af
6:31 : That’s the thing higher gears should have less tourqe just like real life because the car should already be moving at a decent speed
Sick!
It's so odd that color of the set and color of the set on the box are very different. Designer error or maybe the color is difficult to make on boxes
very cool guys
Sadly i accidentally switched two similar sized tiny gears somewhere inside and it does not work as intended and i have no clue how id find them without taking it all apart
Aww man, I though the gearbox would be great for a motor, but it has more gears than I expected and it's reversed. :(
What a review
If I get this set I’d replace it with my own custom 4 speed 4WD sequential gearbox with lever operation and speed indicator, it looks like it may fit. Thanks for this review! Once again it may be up to the ADOL to improve this set 😂
Lego has come a long way
This is SuperLego!!!
I got this set a couple of years ago now and it's still my favourite lego/technic set. I agree with @Thunderbolt47, if Land Rover made the defender look like this I might even be tempted to buy one! Ha! Is that life imitating art?? Keep up the good work Racing Brick!
Wow the quality is even better than before i wonder whatsthe price.
Great review, as always. It seems like this set contains more clutch gear, than 2L pins with friction ridges . :-D
Can u put a motor on the back side? Will it have room? And if it does, does it still work?
I wish the new defender looked more like this :)
Here's something strange. In the parts list, the dark gray 1X1 bricks are nestled in with the black parts.
Once I fought my lego technic 42110 land rover defender had a problem because it's pistons didn't move when rolling but I figured out it simply was because it was on neutral mod so the pistons where loose so...
Please build RC version
You have approach angle and departure angle swapped around 8:37
I have a big problem, if I put the lego horizontally as you put it and power the front wheels, those behind do not turn
@racingbrick with the back door band, put it around the grey parts only. Not the red. Works better.
A question also suits you the engine that makes the Defender advance
i must got this
You think you could use the 42099 hubs, replace the 24 and 8 tooth gears at the diffs with 16 ones and actually make it drive?
there are still too many gears in the drivetrain but of course could be done, needs restructuring
the colour i think is very nice, maybe not great on its own, but on the car it looks nice.
Great review!
Do the Claas tires fit on those new rims/do the rims work with Lego's portal hubs?
Thanks
Yes Claas tires fit. You can attach the rim to the protal hub but there's almost 0 space between the hub and the edge of the rim, might not be good if you put some weight on it.
i had to remove the gearbox because of the clicking sound. the clicks stop the engine from moving in every gear. i tried every possible fix including DESTROYING AND REBUILDING the whole car and still had no change. now it runs on one speed and is like most one speed Technic cars in my collection. i have built numerous Technic cars and trucks and have never had anything like this happen.
Imagine having an additional extra piece after you're done. Haha
Thanks for the estimated build time 😊
Wait for the +/- couldn’t you flip the sticker and it’d be accurate?
nice video :-)
