@@Ben_______x sure… well the others in my studio right now… OBX8, Prophet 5, Super 6… and then others that have come through over the last 7 years or so… P6, Ob6, Prophet X, Moog One… The Super 6 was my favourite, both in terms of sound, features and interface. The Gemini takes it to another level entirely, and the added expressive control / keybed etc sends it over the top. It’s special.
That first jam was beautiful mate. Just lovely. Really showed off how much expression this thing has too. This is subjective but I think it looks stunning as well. Ffs, I’m beginning to run out of space in my imaginary synth studio and there’s nothing I’m willing to pretend sell.
Even though our poor world is in a mess we can say one thing. We are living in the most incredible time for synthesis. We are so so lucky! People that complain are... complainers, not musicians!
I've got a Hydrasynth as well, although only got it 9 days ago. It's not surprising, this beauty is real hardware components, the Hydras are code on chips... The Hydra series are one of the best "vst in a box" type synths. This is the real deal mostly. I.E: mostly discrete analogue components, bar the, what does he call them? "direct drive" oscillators? But even the oscs are fpga based, not simple dsp code on phone chips...
4500 vs a 1000 synth ? Unless you are full pro and rich, no justification for the price tag. 100 gear through effects can sound amazing too in the right hands.
I have a CS80. This synth by UDO is a far better, newer and improved CS80! And its filters actually have that CS80-esque sound timbre in so many ways yet so many better ways.
I wish they had partnered with Strymon or someone for some effects, it would be great to save them with the presets and make life much easier. I guess you need an external multi-effect on the output.
@@BubbleFilms A very similar synth is the Novation Summit with Reverb, Chorus, Delay, Phaser, Distortion. Hydrasynth has all of these as well. So it makes sense that UDO would offer the same. But really UDO should go one step further by offering more.
Can you guys recommend a piano/keyboard /synth fpr. Beginners that can also be used for. Gigs for Coverbands And also weighted keys so i can atleast get used to the more expensive actions.. Im thinking about yamaha ck88. Any recommendations?
Totally different voicing and they lean in different directions tech wise. Hydra leans into Waves and so has a much brighter and more digital feel to it. This is a digital synth with advanced OSC technologies to help it sound more “analog”. It’s a Pizza Vs 1:40 Hamburgers kinda question.
@@productamadeus8745 Additonally, the analog filters and overall build quality of the UDO (sliders and knobs and switches all feel very premium) separate it from the Hydrasynth.
Nice. Little word from me; perhaps you can refine the thumbnail design for videos on your channel, I think they're a bit too crowded now. Thanks for the video.

Sounds great…like every other synth on UA-cam. However, 5 thousand dollars? Come on Man! For that money, the machine should at least make you play Tarkus instantly. I’m glad the keys feel good, however 😲😜
I do not get complaining about price. Its ok for things to be expensive and for synth designers to try and make a living, in synth world you can go from free vst to Behringer to high end boutique. A flagship guitar and amp are 5000, you dont hear guitarists complain.
@@michaeltwiz8477 i agree, everyone should make more. not sure if UDO is like a big corporation. it’s probably just a few people trying to make a living making their dream instrument.
Lucky enough to have one of the first units from UDO, and it’s the best synth I’ve ever played, hands down. A masterpiece 🙌
For context please list the 9 others in your top ten

Super 6 or gemini? What to chose?
I always read this sentiment following the introduction of a new synth…🧐😳😳❤️

Well played!!
Listening to this is like drifting away on warm tropical waters, so warm and lush sounding. What a beast of a synth!
With the price this goes for you can easily afford a vacation and actually be in tropical waters
Got mine Monday, thank you Andertons and merry Christmas to me woohoo!
Omg.. Space ambient sounds. i love it.
Fair go Jack - best demo I've seen lately...

What a beautiful, amazing sounding synth. I need to get my hands on one.
I need a big windfall for this one. It looks and sounds amazing. Thanks for the demo Jack
It’s a beautiful thing. Great demo Jack
My Roland XP-30 doesn't have the programmability, but the presets and add-on cards make it a KILLER synth.
Great sounds Jack! 🙂😛🙃😜
Want one so bad but I have neither the space nor the money for it right now. Someday, maybe, I will get one.
Reminds me of my Jupiter-6 I once had. Only that this synth sounds so much better than the old stuff, in my personal opinion!
This is the best thing to come out of Bristol since the SS Great Britain
This channel is amazing but on top of that you play so damn beautifully... Congrats brother! 🤍
I’m excited for the update to the Super 6 that was promised when this was announced!
A God like synth. Wonderful.
Looks and sounds amazing
I own a hydrasynth and it pains me to say that this kicks it's butt. It has a cs80 ish quality and richness about it. Truly a premium instrument.

Synth Whisperer ❤
I must admit i never heard of Udo, untill now.
Very impressive sound range, on both ends!
And i will defenately rember the name!
Glad they made it portable
In the sense that both your porters can carry it, yes.
cs80 v2 ?
Patch 4 going all Gospel for the space church!
Oh God this looks disgustingly good I want one nowwww......
THIS SYNTH IS ALIVE >>.... 😁🔥
Oh what a beast! I mean the instrument. 😉
7:19 Stank face and totally justified, Jack!
Blimey that last patch had a touch of the ELP about it. Progtastic stuff
Looks like a big T.E. Knockout 2. 😉
can you do a review of some of the hammond keyboards? the ones made by hammond?
I wish they had partnered with Strymon or someone for some effects, it would be great to save them with the presets and make life much easier. I guess you need an external multi-effect on the output.
All UDO synths have chorus (3 types) and a very flexible delay. Effects are saved with the patches.

Need filter and resonance sweeps whilst holding keys down
Awesome
To me, it looks gorgeous and sounds fantastic. An analogue version of the JD-800.
Digital oscillators
How does it compare to the Hydrasynth Deluxe in any sense? Seems the latter has a better prices/performance ratio..

Greg, please give us a screen, even if only for preset names and knob position on a preset.

Waaaay overpriced. These synth companies are getting insane with the prices. $2999 is a fair price. It's easily listed $1500 over...smh
Agreed, some of the manufacturers have totally lost the plot! 🙄
a jupiter 6 cost $2995 when released in 1983, in todays money that would be $5255

This is the ugliest synth I have ever seen but the presets are gorgeous!
Ugly is in the eye of the beholder. I personally love everything about this synthesizer.
To each their own, for me the best looking synth on the market today, bar none. Just need to win lotto now!
Totally agree, real shame. But then again I did own a Jupiter 8 and that's the ultimate benchmark for an inspirational fascia! 😎
This does absolutely nothing for me. Playing through Omnisphere sounds so much better. This is totally a waste of money
It’s for rich wannabes 😂
I'm struggling to get past that awful fascia. Looks like a drab 70's games console. Uninspiring. ☹️
