    It was foggy and cold just for a few days, now it is up to 14 degrees Celsius again. And the days are getting longer after December 22. One day it could be sunny and very pleasant, and another cold and grey.
    There is always ways to get by cheaper, especially with food. Buying veggies and fruits in supermarkets is most expensive, for instance. You should go to green markets, instead. The same is true for meat and meat products, fish, practically everything.

    Serbia is cold in winter. It has a continental climate. Not the best time for visiting. There are many incredible places to see but you need time and warmer weather for it when it will be more comfortable and when more things are open for touring. There are some pockets that have a more milder winter but it all depends where. Thankfully spring comes sooner but even then the nights are cool.

    Legally, yes, you are correct. Within 24hrs, you have to register in the police station except if you are staying in hotel, in this case, they will register you. This is the law in all ex communist countries but Serbia does not force it. Law says that you have to have your ID and a registration card with you at all times. But, if you are in a restaurant or a bar and police comes to check everybody, as long as you tell them you are a foreigner, they will not ask for your ID or talk to you at all. Strange place Serbia... I have visited Serbia as foreigner and as a citizen and neverer/ ever was asked for registration but I have heard 3-4 cases where passport control asked for this document and people got told that is a big no no and to register next time but have never heard that anybody got fined. I still advise everybodyy to follow the law and do as they say. Good luck on your next adventure and all the best.

    In the most countries of the world, where you don't need visa, you have to register your place of staying, IF you are staying in the same place for more of 3-5 days (if it is not hotel, or some other registered facility, like official AirBnB place).
    That is something that you should know if you are traveling around the world... damn it guys.
    One more thing - no one is doing so, and I know only one person that got fined and had problem at the border.
    But It is only logical - Imagine if you end up in the hospital, or did some criminal offence, and nobody knows where you are staying.

The communists (& not to mention the world wars) as well as the mafia have killed people all over the area. Furthermore, I noticed MILITARY funerals & pictures of the "victims" from previous claims, at the funerals showed young men in military uniforms, so they were just RECYCLED KLA used to hype the propaganda.
      Because fact is they did NOT find anything near the number of dead in Kosovo - the FBI and many other countries found very few - and of those they found they didn't know the identities - and there were many Serbs and Roma who'd been kidnapped and killed by the KLA, and not to mention the KLA did start off assassinating Albanians which didn't support it, or Albanians who had jobs with the Serbian state (police, forest rangers, etc.), or ones they suspected as "collaborators" or viewed as rivals. There is a city bus 72 from the airport "Nikola Tesla" (Upper part of the airport, where you enter for departures, when you leave the customs area, on the left there are escalators where you can get to the departure area and at the exit there is a bus stop 72 which goes to Zeleni Venac - center of Belgrade - last stop - The price of the ticket from the bus driver is 200 dinars for one ride, and if you have a bus plus card, the ticket price is 89 dinars and the ticket lasts 90 minutes where you can change the bus with the same ticket) . Until now, the bus plus card could not be bought at the airport, but only in the center of Belgrade. Mostly in kiosks with the label: "Moj kiosk". There is also an option to buy a ticket for 1, 3 and 5 days also only at the kiosk in the city. In the lower part of the airport there are taxi drivers where you can take a taxi voucher at the counter. The price of a taxi is fixed, and a mini bus A1 that goes to Slavija Square. Here the ticket is a bit more expensive, i think 350 dinars. Do not go into in the taxi without a voucher! You must get information about the price of the taxi in advance at the counter.

    #5. You have to register within 24 hours or u get fined. (I forgot about this and waited for about 2 weeks. Since I got family. They didn’t charge me).

    So if one did not register do not go late and self incriminate yourself. Also it will only be checked if you commit an offense.

And police have smarter things to do than check on tourists. Can we possibly imagine how much effort this would take? And impact this would have? No way. That law is like a speed limit of 90km/hr on a major auto-bahn where everybody, including police, are driving at 120/hr or higher.

    This is another thing I really like about driving in and out of Serbia. The border guys could care less on your way in and going out they barely care about anything either. Totally relaxed because they don’t really care about anything.
    Never went through the airport but I think that’s probably more strict about things.

    Bunch of horseshit laws.... just like in the UK it is illegal to handle a salmon suspiciously :D Anyways, I hope that we can delete this law soon, cause it seems like a bit of an annoyance....

  • @crazygunar
    @crazygunar 4 роки тому +1

    That law is outdated and needs a major upgrade. In a mindset of a common citizen of Serbia, there is an all-time tendency to silently ignore "unpractical laws", because laws should serve people not otherwise. Of course, you can not proclaim taxation as "idiot law" and disobey it, but laws such as these are simply ignored and not strictly enforced. Also, law enforcement uses not to escalate disobedience of such laws (they are citizens too), and if comes to that in most cases you will pass with a warning, not even a fine... So, when this law can backfire on you? In 100% of cases if you are a troublemaker, start or provoke an incident (football hooligan for example), and all kind of "idiot" laws will rain sh*t on you. If you are a victim of an incident, also nothing happens. There is a law you broke numerous times and you are not even aware of it. You will be shocked but IT IS FORBIDDEN to take shots of any bridge, museum, church, monastery other installation of great importance and cultural heritage. There is "no camera" warning in all of these places and you simply didn't notice it. And how many fines and warnings did you get? Zero, like thousands of people before and after you. You can see why I call these laws idiotic... But you have to be brain-damaged to take pictures around some military installations and pretend you didn't know...

  • @lilibueta
    @lilibueta 4 роки тому +1

    Registering is very easy. Literally just report where you are staying at a local police station. The only hustle is that landlord should be with you but I hear that now they could register you online via eGovernment portal. Anyways you won't get in trouble by not registering unless you want to apply for a temporary residence visa. In that case you need to be registered and you will be fined for the delay (the amount is decided by the judge and it's in the range you mentioned)

    Happend to me and my girlfriend from Sweden, we were staying in Kosovo for some days but they said they consider “Republic of Kosovo” as Serbia so you have to register. Made me run 5km to get to an atm and give them 200euros. I was running to the nearest atm which was near a Petrol Station… so I gave them 200€ and was so angry because no one said anything about that law. It wasn’t about the money but more of how corrupt Serbia is and their police omfg. But then I demanded them to call the embassy of Australia because I filmed everything. They gave me the money back and asked me to leave the country or I would get arrested 😂

    You should have a "white card" issued to you at the local police station and you should have it in your passport when you hand it to the immigration on departure at the airport. Obviously everyone is cut some slack, probably by the order of the Govt, because the immigration would ask to see the "white card".
    Now, I would be more careful if I were to leave the country by road. In that case, the instructions the immigration has from the Govt may even depend on what country you are from.
