I did not know copolas has this hot air function.....i just thought it is only decorative, and a cool space to stick your head out..lol..... Thanks for the info.
Can you go into more detail about the motorization of those windows being able to be opened? It looked like they were just regular hand-crank windows in the video.
I made the majority of this video before we purchased the windows. And based on the extra $10k and unreliable function of the motor controls, we decided to go with regular awning windows. The awning windows will shed rainwater so they don’t need to be closed every time it rains. And it’s likely that the windows will only need to be opened in May and closed in October. Sorry To be misleading. My window sales rep highly recommended we not use the motorized windows. The controls caused more trouble and maintenance than they helped.
Your work is absolutely beautiful..! I live in southern California and plan on building 3 of these on my roof. My question is how effective is it to include a back draft louver to this project & are there any concerns that I may need to be aware of? I might also add that I plan to install a whole house fan in the attic to move the hot air out. Thank you for your time & look forward to your input. Cheers
Do you have any idea what it would cost to add something like this to a floor plan? We're building a Victorian Italianate home soon and I would love to have something about this size on the front. Thanks!
Absolutely gorgeous; the modernized cupolas are exactly what I need. So I made it a point to leave this message so I can find it again in the future. 😉
Please add a video that describes the motorized opening devices that you use and how they are installed. Thanks for the video.
We opted out of the motorized function due to repeated warnings on reliability and malfunction
Seriously beautiful work you guys do.
Thanks!

I would design for a backdraft louvre, but probably not put it in unless it proved necessary.
Attic fans are out dated. They draw in moisture, you're better off running your AC 24/7, otherwise it has to suck all the moisture out of your home.

The Vikings had these on their long houses and they would stretch a long way.
Bugs love cupolas.
Haha, yes they do
Any way to install a screen to keep bugs out?
@@Emiliapocalypse sure, if the bugs are really a problem. But they’re usually not a big deal
