    EXCELLENT video. Helped me pull my skid to replace my front torque arm. Did it solo, planned to spend a couple days working through all the steps but everything kept going so smooth and got it done in under two hours 🤯 Thank you very much.

    Thanks so much Dan Great video! I need to replace a track and this gets me in the right direction💪 Would be great to get the next step for replacing the track on an Axys with QD belt drive system, not so many videos out there on that and it would help a lot... keep it up Dan

    More vids like this please. Love to learn tips and triks about working on the sled😁

    A lot of people attempt skid removal/installation with the sled on a lift. You can unload the springs by doing so...but upon the re-install the weight of the skid and track can create some cussing and swearing trying to get the bolt/anchor locations lined back up. Putting the machine on its side is definitely the easiest and least time consuming to accomplish this task. Great video.

      I hooked mine up to a chain pulley, then you can lift up and down without anything in the way.
      Easy.

    Great vid. Never had a reason to pull a skid, but I've been a little apprehensive about ever doing it. Seems much easier than I thought.
    Could you do a vid on taking jumps?

    Great idea with the ratchet strap! Way better than readjusting the track tension every time. Great work guys!

    Like others, pulled skids for years, heard about laying it on it’s side, too stubborn to try it, doing drive shaft bearing on 2014 indy tomorrow and will try this. Nice work on this video, strictly business, thank you.

    Good video my only critique is next time suspend the tunnel a little bit and take the downward pressure off the four skid bolts before removing them

    Use tap & die set to clean up bolt and axel threads ... keeps buildup of locktite to a minimum for future removal

  • @pewoshhiga

    Would leaving the ratchet on when putting the skid back on make it easier to align the holes? And then just taking the ratchet off once the bolts are in?

  • @bennythamann5893
    @bennythamann5893 2 роки тому

    Would you pull the skid to replace the rear idler wheels and axel? Or can you leave the sled on sitting on the ground

  • @jacobschoonover4554
    @jacobschoonover4554 Рік тому

    You can use a racket strap and not tip the sled on its side at all that's what the two loops on the front of the skid is for

    Do you have any tech sheet on how hard you tighten the bolts in the rails or you just harden them be feeling? Because you talk about how hard to tighten the four bolts in the body, 46-47 foot-pounds

    Bolts on opposite side keep spinning. Broke them all loose first, then removed one went to the other side and it just spins. How do you keep it from spinning? Great video BTW.

    • @blenz1
      @blenz1 2 роки тому

      Figured it out. Just have to use high speed impact to spin the bolts faster than the internal shaft spins. Wish ther was a way to stop that shaft from spinning though.

    How do you relieve the pressure on the front track shock?

    • @NextLevelRidingClinics
      @NextLevelRidingClinics  4 роки тому

      Jeremy Knapp You can take pressure away by loosening your preload or taking air out of an air shock. If it’s still too much pressure you may look into re-valving your center shock. Thanks
