Nah. Those in "adult" gaming communities know what Nutaku is. They have a pretty negative reputation for either taking games from sites like DMM and packaging them with microtransactions (and often butchering them in the process), or just straight up selling trash games that make 20 year old flash games look more professional. Not to mention that they used to heavily advertise themselves as the "steam for adult". Since then, their history of censorship lead most to distrust them and Steam ended up allowing adult games anyway making Nutaku's selling point a bit moot. Outside of Steam, other places that people go for adult games would usually be DLsite, Mangagamer, Fakku, DMM, Getchu, and maybe sites ran by the publisher itself like Kagura Games. But I don't doubt that Nutaku still makes a lot of money because they advertise themselves so much so that when somebody wants to play an adult game, they will likely come across Nutaku at some point or another, especially early on. So a lot in the adult gaming communities have had first hand experience with Nutaku. Much off Nutaku is aimed at mobile too and unlike on PC there isn't as much competition there so I can easily see Nutaku getting a lot of users in that area. But yeah, they have too much baggage for most in the community. They've often made promises to not censor games that they license anymore only to immediately break that promise. They tend to prefer mostly the most bland corporatised version of NSFW as possible so anybody who isn't into that have to look elsewhere. And since the gameplay of their other stuff is pretty bland and the artwork not very well drawn it just isn't appealing. The predatory Microtransactions are the icing on the cake. Nutaku is to Adult Gaming what mobile is to PC/Console gaming.

Half true. Nutaku Publishing is where they actually do produce some games (like Project QT, which is really the only game from it that massively took off). The only really good games come from DMM though.
@@agnishom "Rent seeking" is economic activity that doesn't produce value. There's plenty of studies on it and the economic drain that it incurs, but with regard to Nutaku I'd just identify them as exploiters rather than producers.
@@WallNutBreaker524 What they come for doesn't matter, Nutaku still cares only about hooking people to the adult aspect, and it shows. All they do is take medicore failing games and shoehorn erotic aspects into them. They are not taking any gameplay into consideration, and to be honest most other indie adult games aren't either: literally all adult games are either RenPy or RPGM. This is mostly simply due to the fact that it's often artists trying to make these games rather than programmers, meaning they resort to visual novels or repetitive game templates.
@@WallNutBreaker524 Oh 100%, it's an untapped taboo market that doesn't have the publicity and funding to take the next step. Almost all the games are made by individuals. I think one of the main problems is the large divide between video games, and 'adult' games. There is no game which has a balance of fun gameplay and sufficient erotic content. It's similar to how as soon as you pass the threshold of anime to hentai by adding sex, all good plot and story choices get thrown out the window, it's pretty sad really because it just makes the divide between life and sex larger, how if something has sex it has to only have that and nothing else. So I mean only time will tell whether the improvements will happen and there is enough funding for an actually good game to be made, but if all else fails, you could always try mods to games such as Skyrim, but they'll never live up to what these games could be...
It's hard to SEE gameplay. If the reporting here is accurate, the idea is to take existing games and slap some adult stuff in, not the other way around.
"good gameplay"? you've got to be joking, I've been there a good 6 times and honestly I thought all the games were garbage. They're like all cheaply made and short, and don't actually provide the sexual content that people are looking for without locking it behind predatory monetary practices. Nutaku is overall just a waste of time and it is insane that it's bigger than steam.
There are, in fact, a few very good ones with good story abd characters and gameplay, namely Magicami and Legend Clover for example... And they were made with a very high budget. The sad thing is that these really good ones are only 2% if not 0.5% of all the games there... Also Magicami EOS'd a while back due to poor management and because it was too high budget to maintain D:
With all due respect, your comment just proves the strategy of the company. They have no interest in solving anyone's desires or needs in one game, they want you to fish the market and keep trying new ones. It's like when people browse X rated content, they open up dozens of tabs and look at a few mins of each one then close. That's the human behavioural patterns they're profiting off, and your comment just proved its succession.

Irony is that Project QT started on Nutaku, then further grew on DMM... usually it's the other way around. But yeah, unless it's from (or on) DMM as well, consider it a meh to crap game that's an even bigger cash grab. But surprisingly, some stuff was done to be "better" for the Nutaku side just to be fair. It's few and far between though.
Definitely a tricky topic to discuss on UA-cam with their strict policy but am very glad you uploaded it again. Your content is amazing and you do a great job.
Thank you for spreading awareness on predatory practices in the gaming industry. It's sad that many people's hobbies have been turned into nothing more than business ventures, with individuals who do not care about their consumers driving the industry.
Not to burst the bubble but games are a business like everything else, Maybe there are 100 people naive enough to believe that someone would spend time and efforts and 5 years in a college (and 100K+ to get a degree) to make a game just for fun without get anything out of it, The time of the developer working in his/her bedroom and selling floppy disks outside a store are long gone; this industry makes a ton of money and big business smell money pretty fast.

@@h0laPlaneta It probably appears on the site like that. Chun-Li's Fortnite model is known to be uhh... particularly 'bottom heavy' in a way that the original street fighter model isn't. Once you came back around to the ending with the twist company reveal -- I basically said the name in tandem, it seems so obvious. I love your mention of how private consumption does not match what we are pushed. It's a huge hole in the gaming market they managed to grab.
Then why the clear shaming of people (both men and women) who privately consume that? I see the author heavily disapproves adult content, that's ok for them. I wonder what my ex fiancee would say about this video. She enjoyed her shirtless men calendars. Would the author also shame her for that? I dislike this biased approach to the subject.
@@azradun3903 I was going to say this, if author has interest in shaming this form of business, shouldn't she be shaming down OnlyFans, Pornhub, RedTube as well? Let's not forget that Nutaku is deemed a 'safe' site in terms of there not being invasive or dangerous trojans that could use personal information of ours in less convenient things. Her throwing shade on Nutaku's ToS on marketing is rather pathetic, we're talking about terms of marketing that other companies earn extra revenue by having customer's informations sold to other companies to market to. This is basic marketing vice in ALL companies. Also, many, many dangerous phishing and casino sites prey upon Pornhub and RedTube on its own sites, it has never been a safe site to begin with. 40% of visitors are in age groups that end up majority of time in email scams and other relatively dangerous predicaments that take thousands of hours time from bankers to solve and millions of wealth thrown to criminals. The metaverse cyberpunk dystopia isn't even scifi anymore, the internet has been that for years at this point. The moment companies realized that the real product of the internet was us. Good coverage, thanks for the info. The more people that see behind the curtain, the better... I really worry about the not-too-distant future.
@kaiserfranzjoseph9311 I agree. Certain practices can be "dystopian", but I don't think we're living in a dystopia as long as people recognize corruption, greed, etc. If we really were living in a dystopia, nobody in that society would realize that they were living in one.
@kaiserfranzjoseph9311 But to be honest, I'm just tired of people parading around the saying that we live in a dystopia. They remind me of those individuals who claim that the world is "objectively speaking", completely meaningless and that "humankind is inherently evil". Because opinions are derived from our own personal experiences, and the majority of those who state such thoughts are completely miserable. Like come on, what happened to the heroes in fiction that were all "never give up" and "hope will always prevail"? Now we get relatable villains and grey morality. Not saying that's wrongs, nuance is always enjoyable in stories. But the mindset of our society has obviously shifted from hope to hopelessness, from trying hard to giving up. Yes, it's a personal bias I have, and I recognize that. But I'm just tired. I am so tired of seeing hopelessness are negativity and depression, and people celebrating it as if that makes them superior or intelligent. No. The only difference I see between you and idiotic, idealistic people is they actually want to wake up in the morning don't wish they died in their sleep.
@@ctrl_x1770 from as far as I've been on the internet I noticed it is made of bubbles, bubbles of people and ideas. Sometimes, the bubbles overlap (for good or bad), but most times they stay well isolated. Needless to say that some people live in distopias of their own making, inside those bubbles.
Couple days ago, police aired a perpetrator who beat up an elderly couple for.... taking too long returning old cans to the supermarket. There was some grainy CCTV. That happened 2 months ago. Police are notoriously bad at such random violence incidents because they lack a motive and the perpetrator could be anyone. People have literally gotten away with murder because good luck finding them. So those two elderly people would probably have nothing left except to lick their wounds and wait until the next roided-up hothead comes along. I myself have some 5 outstanding cases of people who assaulted me during security work, but good luck finding them back then. Grainy CCTV... Enter the internet. Some people cleared up the CCTV, shoved the criminal's face into reverse image search. Roughly 40 minutes after the police message being reposted to there, someone on Dumpert posted 'Well hello there' followed by a url of said criminal toasting to the next phase of a construction project, in his company clothing meaning it's down to six suspects, which also geolocated him to a specific region which narrows it to 3 suspects. Within 2 hours of uploading police amended the message to say the suspect had come forward and turned himself in. His company published a news announcement next day going 'Yeah we know he's a criminal, the police knows who he is, stop e-mailing us'. Explain to me again how we're in a dystopia?
Some years ago (2016-2018) i've seen a lot of these ads popping without even going to x rated sites, now not so much, so yes, the company grew a lot. But not only due to the low supply of h games, but the fact that the big monster of the gaming industry, Steam, didnt allowed adult games in its platform until 2019-2020 (i know the first 18+ game on the platform debuted in september 2018, but the trend really began the next year), so nutaku capitalized the lack of platforms to launch their own. Also another thing i see that the vast majority of games that nutaku offers are free to plays, with the same profit models from mobile games and nutaku being the intermediary in the form of tokens (gold) that the platform sells. I remember there were gaming platforms like that in the region where i live (latin america), but not with mobile games, but pc online games (counter strike clones, rythm games, etc ). I was so addicted to gunbound back then.... good memories :)
I’m really surprised this channel doesn’t get more attention. I had the Monopoly GO video recommended to me and the quality of the content is brilliant.
The comment of “that’s not how our company really works” seems off to me. Why? Why would a company refuse to make any sort of comment on what they do? Even just from a pure PR bullshit point of view?
The p*rn industry has larger revenues than the top technology companies (Microsoft, Google, Amazon, eBay, Yahoo, Apple and Netflix) combined. American children begin consuming hardcore pronography at an average age of 11.
Nutaku still is looked as a mediocre adult game company. They don't come even close to what the idie devs have made such as FlipWitch by MonoGames, Mage Kanade's Futanari Dungeon Quest by Dieselmine or Scarlet Maiden by Otterside Games. All these make the NSFW part of the actual game. While Nutaku just throws it in. This reminds me of that meme which said: "When a video starts directly with the adult stuff: "There is no plot! There is no aggression! There is no fking mindset!" "
Well, technically Nutaku's games are like 'playable porn'. There is no practicality or sophisticated gameplay to instill to it. Despite there being few casual games that bring some effort in what game has. In a way it's watered down game, and the difficulty not being the major part of game, porn is set to it.
So you're telling me I can make a living purchasing indie passion projects from destitute game devs, and turning them into shitty thirst trap hentai games?

I was fascinated with how strategic this all was. Because we all know NSFW games have bad rep. But in the wise words of Tuffnut Thorston "If something is too good to be true, it probably sucks!" So there's little surprise that there was a puppetmaster. I can't call Nutaku's ambitions noble but finding out anything past the start of the growth stage was all just orchestrated, it feels malicious from that point on. *Especially* the privacy policy.

@@agnishom "Rent seeking" is economic activity that doesn't produce value. There's plenty of studies on it and the economic drain that it incurs, but with regard to Nutaku I'd just identify them as exploiters rather than producers.
@@enkephalin07i just read an article that says a better term would be "privilege seeking"
Literally nothing I saw leads me to believe gameplay is even remotely a primary consideration.
That's your view. Not what people who play these adult games think. They came for porn and gameplay.
@@TrueOracle So.... there's still Potential for this Genre of Gaming to Grow. 🤔 Very Nice. 🤑😈
It got funnier each time you said "one hand at a time" throughout the video

Nice video and good research.

It's the parent's fault honestly. Imagine not having your dad beat you in Street Fighter by pressing only one button all the way even into adulthood.
Cun Li sounds like a weird abbreviation of cunnilingus.
I wonder if that was the editor´s fault (probably very young or not into games) or that is the way it appears on the mentioned web site.
@@h0laPlaneta its possible that is how it appeared on a website, I am guessing Capcom at some point did a licensing deal with Epic to put SF characters into Fortnite.
Yes, Nutaku is very sus site. It's literally 18+ porn game hub, except safe version compared to numerous dangerous hentai and porn sites there are in internet to this day. I would safely say, that as a seldom customer to them I see no point ditching it.

What do you think created the Internet? It wasn't Myspace and Ebay.
