I use to have one of these when I was a kid. You said that you are not sure why it has two gas tanks. The reason behind that is that this was originally designed as a military vehicle so when you go deep on a mission on enemy's land you use one tank and once that tank is empty you know that you reached the point were you need to turn back if you want to return to the point where you started otherwise you will be stuck in enemy's territory. In the military versions like the one I had, there should be a valve under the driver's seat that would allow you to shift between gas tanks.

Wtedy pierwszy raz trafiłem do Izby Dziecka. Dzisiaj to wiem. To była któraś terapia z kolei. Dzisiaj mam własną rodzinę, dobrą pracę, pasje i jestem na takim etapie, gdzie imprezuję i bawię się normalnie. Tyle, że bez alkoholu/dragów. They're legal in Europe, see them from time to time. Why are they not legal in USA? Presumably due to the lack of airbags etc?
All this russian cars, it's like they got a character like they got a soul. That's why Lada or UAZ are maybe loud, rough and not every time good looking cars. But I think they can make you lough and be happy.
Very nice review
Wow finally an English Uaz review. You did a good job!
WTF was under the front leaf springs? Looked like a square tube that was part of the home built "lift kit".
You should try and find the original military model, 4 speed manual with unsyncronised 1 and 2 gears, need I say more that its easier to put those in low and only use gears 3 and 4 😅
Sure wish we could buy these in the states. I would love to have one especially the diesel model.
No diesel available....
Great review. I own one and love it.
The USA is getting the UAZ Patriot, called the Bremach in the USA. Perhaps they will follow up with the Hunter soon after. The patriot is a little more upmarket than the hunter. I see they already have a dealer in Nevada. Also, shame on that guy who didn't know that you can drive on the tarmac without 4 wheel drive.
Is it legal in USA ¿?
Many 8099 We have this particular one for sale. Completely legal.
Can you get this imported to the us?
Najpierw piłem. Później rzuciłem picie dla heroiny. Później znowu piłem, nie brałem. Zacząłem już w podstawówce. Pamiętam jak w ostatniej klasie zarzygałem dywan dyrektora, bo na szkolnej imprezie przemyciliśmy piwa i tanie wina (tam mnie zaprowadził wzywając policję). Wtedy pierwszy raz trafiłem do Izby Dziecka. Dzisiaj to wiem. Znalazłem sobie hobby - komputery i sport (uprawiam;). I Zawsze pamiętam kim jestem, a jestem alkoholikiem i narkomanem. To "moje DNA" i już zawsze będę czujny. Od 13 lat jestem trzeźwy.

That gearbox sounds like it's going to fall out on the road. Kinda like my old Samurai!!!
We said the same thing about the samurai!!
Haha i know what you mean about the samurai
Seams that he is going on lower transfer case gear. Also he dosent have right about some other thinks...
Exactly!

Why screw it up with a lift kit? It was engineered to perfection. What a tool!
To be honest. They don’t last. Very low speed vehicle. If you drive fast the vibrations unbolt parts. Cuba has these and I have ridden inside it.
I wish they sold these in the uk
Does this dude drive standard much
9 miles to gallon ?
So I have a pristine one with a retrofit A/C. You can bet that I'm importing it since it is a 1997.
Why not street legal? Used to have a 469b some ten years ago in Germany.
It looks awesome with those wheels, ridiculous but awesome. I still prefer the cruiser
It will survive the end of the world. Thats "pure mechanic transmission all wheel drive power". Mad Max's fury road still alive. Trust me, 65 dislikes means 65 Mercedes "G"-owner are in fear against these UAZ Hunter 😂
Vehicle is great, reviewer sucks. Why russians need AC?? Driving with that loud whine, c'mon man
They're probably angry at it being driven on the road in 4LO.
For trails in Central Oregon, $10k for such a proven vehicle is no brainer. I’ll be the first to buy, perhaps add diff locks. It’s available in Mexico but very overpriced.
it already has as an option from factory
I wish Jeep and Toyota still made something like this
Closest thing today might be a roxor but its not the same..
