I was totally thinking of the amazing film "Master and Commander" and was expecting an off nautical theme lol
Honestly, John Simm and Michelle Gomez were amazing. Missy was a great version of The Master...but I'd also love to shout out Sir Derek Jacobi's Master before he knew he was the Master...a strong performance from a legendary actor.
Every single time I see another iteration of the Master, I end up thinking about his performance. So great!
I loved Delgado´s Master and the decayed version from The Deadly Assassin but Gomez´s Missy and her redemption arc took my breath away.
Thanks for this masterful precon, Professor! Can´t wait to make my own version! 💜💜

I thought this was going to be about Master and Commander: far side of the world commander deck, still pleasantly surprised and happy to see what the prof has in store for bringing Doctor Who's master to life within this deck.

Finally! When I saw you playing this I fell in love with it and wanted the decklist so bad!
I think all of the build your own precons have been cool, but I've got to say the ones you designed have actually been my favorites. Thrun is now one of my ~75 commander decks after watching your video (albeit built a tad differently), and this deck is fascinating and sounds like an absolute blast to play, too!
You inspired me to make 10 new precon level decks! Coming up with the precon names was a blast.
You can put the LotR equipment Sting that untaps the creature every combat
LOL best start to a video ever we all remember playing with GI joes or action figures when we were kids

I still remember using your cursed enchantment precon with some friends on tabletop sim. It was so much fun! Even if I didn't win the amount of chaos I caused had everyone laughing the entire game.
I actually liked the deck a lot during the show and I did not notice that the commander was a reskin proxy ^^

John Simm was always my favorite to portray the Master because he seemed to really get into the sad madness of the character.

I have loved your commander decks for a long time. My first one was your Ephara deck in 2017, with some budget downgrades. I loved the idea of the deck, but played it WAY too controling for casual commander. Now I enjoy your Geist of Saint Traft deck and love watching these to try and build my own for practice

Roger Delgado hands down. Your eyes are drawn to him every second he’s on screen, the most charismatic and suave actor to play the part imo.
The rant about winning with Thrun on an episode of your show with a deck you piloted and made against guests you invited yourself onto your own show to play your own games was great.
Since sultai is blue/black/green there is 1 other invasion card I could recomened which is invasion of shandalar (3GG mana cost)... it has an etb that allows U to return any 3 permanents from your grave to your hand & on its enchantment side allows U to basically cheat out any permanent U want (including your high mana value creatures) which I find really powerful for the deck as I run a 13-14% planeswalker deck myself which it helps me to abuse the abbilites of those planeswalkers so much faster 😅

The master is awesome. I was a little sad to see sting not in the list. It's been my favorite cheap add for an untap effect.
Idk if you'll ever take suggestions for a build your own precon but I have made a Selesnya Energy and +1/+1 Counter deck around Lae'zel and the Master Chef background. I call it Lae'zel, High Power Energy (can find it on moxfield). Its $45 and i built it for a friend who didnt want a expensive deck and ended up loving it myself.

I think for my favorite I have to go with the OG, Roger Delgado. The others are certainly good, but Delgado's understated performance did a great job of selling the character's menace. He didn't need to shout or pontificate, he was completely secure in his superiority. If he lost to the Doctor, it was only a temporary setback and something that would be corrected in the future. Besides, what fun would conquering the universe be if there was no challenge to it?
I totally ran to the secret lair website to find that proxy! Wish I could find one of my own.
Does Derek Jacobi count? Just the one episode before Simm's regeneration started (and a reprise later), but his transformation from kind Professor Yana into The Master, playing both so well was amazing

I love the Design of The Master, Above All soooo much, because to be fair I like the mtg card of Missy and their playstyle

Prof do Kambal, profiteering mayor next for build your own precon series whenever a token ETBs you create a token as well and then when you get a token you drain all your opponents this takes advantage of all the removal where your opponents get a token and makes your opponents not want use smothering tithe and will take advantage of a lot of big creatures that give your opponents creature tokens as well those cards are pretty cheap in price
What website/program did you use to make your proxy commander + commander box template?
Add sting to the deck it makes it even more spicy for the untap at each combat.
I have a The Master deck and I’m surprised Phenax wasn’t mentioned in the upgrade list! Phenax + The Master + Intruder Alarms usually ends the game immediately
Michele Gomez Master is so great, her best is in season 10 finale arch
I would love to see like a $100 upgrade guide for this. The Master is my favorite Fallout villain and my favorite commander from the Fallout set and I wanna see him taken to his fullest potential
Note. Ghostly flicker says "under YOUR control", so you can re-use etbs of pilfered creatures and restore their original p+t while you're at it.
What if the Professor built a precon with a card proxied as himself? What colors whould he use? What creature would represent him? What strat and mechanics would he use? I would love to see something like that

Tough call. Most of the Masters have been very good (sometimes better than their writers), but I'm gonna go for two you didn't mention: Sir Derek Jacobi (an actor's actor and an absolute _coup_ for the show) and Sacha Dhawan who is kind of a treat in the roll and had a tough act to follow in Michelle Gomez.
Honestly, I do kinda like Eric Robert as the master, if because they did him justice in Big Finish for his audio stories.
Watched for the full length. I love the flavor and concept. I think this video may have suffered for the same alleged reasons why the Doctor Who precons didn’t sell well, that being not many MtG players who are also interested in the Doctor Who series or knew anything about it.

Phenax, God of Deception goes HAM in this deck
you forgot to mention terisian mindbreaker that mills have the opponents library when it attacks. also The Ancient One has pay 5 andd ddraw then discard, target oppenent mills cards equal to its mana value
