I can honestly hardly believe how far Isabelle has come on - it is so heartwarming to see! Both girls are clearly thriving and it sounds like an exciting time for the whole family! Hope Stan’s ankle heals soon and the older kids’ upcoming trips and house move all go well!

Mika’s love for Izzy is one of the most precious, innocent, genuine things I’ve seen in a long time. Also, I’ve been meaning to ask you why Mika hasn’t learned sign language. She’s already so expressive that I think she would take to it so well. It would mean the rest of you would have to learn too but wouldn’t it be amazing for her to have a voice. Just a thought. I’m sure you’ve already thought of that and there are reasons that are really none of my business. I’m just curious. BTW there was nothing about that blog that was boring in any way. It was so sweet and I can’t wait for more!!
oh, she does use sign language, but she doesn't have to use it exclusively. She understands 90% of what we say. Therefore, we do not have to use sign language to speak to her. She does use ASL to communicate to us as well as she has a very fancy communication device. ;)
She understands most of what we say unless it’s a new command or phrase. She has a neurological disorder that affects her speech. I’m not sure if she’ll ever speak.
