  • You’d be forgiven for mistaking the Cedar hoody for a casual item you might wear to meet your friends for a drink, or even pop to the gym in. There’s no denying that on the surface, this does not look like an armoured motorcycle jacket - but that’s the beauty. You’ll fool your mates and everyone else into thinking you’re a bit mad for riding in just a hoody, but the reality couldn’t be further from the truth.

An almighty CE Level AA approval is achieved thanks to CORDURA® 750D ripstop and a CORDURA® knit construction, with a double layer of PWR|Shield and almost unnoticeable SEESMART™ CE-level 1 protectors at the shoulders and elbows. If you feel the need to upgrade, there’s an option to pop in a back protector too.
Unrivalled wearability thanks to the comfort stretch in the fabric, alongside useful features like thumb loops, subtle laminated reflective strips, and a jeans connection zipper mean the Cedar is a very versatile bit of kit that you won’t want - or need - to ever take off. Maybe when you go to sleep, but that’s up to you.
Get riding-season ready with the Rev’it Cedar Hoody - you’ll quickly forget about your old leather jacket.

Not that I bend to any of my friend’s criticisms, but this would be an ideal garment for wearing on my Vespa 300gt. Might squash the grief I get about safety “overkill” from that particular circle of friends. Their idea of rider protection stops at “These heels are closed toe.”

I ride something like Vespa and I bought a lot of gear, sometimes I think about having too much protection, then I think about my knees and elbows and the fact that I like them and I no longer care about having too much

Seemed like an excellent idea at first but after having used it for two seasons some downsides have shown themselves. Positives first however. It is a high quality garment, and very comfortable fit for me. Airflow through the fabric is pretty high. The bad side of this is it will not be any good in cool weather. So, if it's a hot weather garment only why would you make it just in black? It's fine while riding on the open road but as soon as you stop you're roasting. And the lack of a zipper means there's no chance of putting it on or taking it off in any dignified way. So, as it is today I'd give it 6/10. If it had a zipper and a lighter colour it might get a 9/10.

Been waiting for this one ever since I saw it was released overseas. Possibly the best motorcycle garment I've ever seen? Shame that there's no back protector that's as flexible as the seesmart armour in the elbows and shoulders. Still almost certainly going to be purchasing one though.

I thought the same thing. It’s like the culmination of the past 10 years worth of gear improvements.

Wonderful features, it's surely good on static, but I don't know what will happen during a crash, I mean, is that soft , comfy and elastic that the hard protections will rotate when touches the asphalt exposing your arm? Also when riding, soft gaments allow the shoulder protection to shift behind going out of position due to the wind opposite force. New generation helmets will be certified also regarding the rotation factor risk. Thank you UR and keep un the good work

Double AA and it's so much cheaper to produce compared to a jacket, how cool is that?

I have to ask, how is this $400? The stealth 2 hoodie actually comes with seesmart armor and is more functional in numerous ways and it costs $400 as well.

the stealth 2 hoodie is garbage imo, it feels like wearing a cardboard box and is unnecessarily heavy, was a nightmare to wear.

Great review UR! Can you change the CE level 1 shoulders and elbows Seesmart protection to the CE level 2 Seeflex on this hoodie? Thanks

HI Khalid, the armour is removable so you can upgrade to a different type of armour if you wish. - Iza

I have this but probably the latest version as it is full black in color. The shoulder pads always got folded and need to be readjusted after putting on this sweater. Any advice?

he looks about 165-175 and is 5'10'' so wears a large. From reviews online however i notice people are sizing up because it is more euro fit.

Sadly there isn't a female version but there is no reason she can't try this one, maybe just a size smaller to what she usually gets? They are quite unisex! Hope this helps - Iza
