I had a feeling it was gonna be a home arcade cab. Looks like it's kinda small
I thought it looked small too. That price seems a little iffy too.
Maybe now they'll FINALLY be giving us more arcade carts if these sell well.

It wont matter how well this sells, its 1 of three ways to play for people. 3 different variants of the same hardware. It will never be their biggest selling hardware.
Good point! I can’t see this being their “top seller”. I think the VS-R and EXP-R will be the products that bring in more people to the Evercade.
I think it's a cool product for people new to the arcade gaming scene but the Freakade wins hands down :-) Keep up the awesome work!

I like it, I'll be getting the Megaman one. I have a small gaming room and this size is perfect for me. Never bought the VS just an EXP. The only change I'd make is at least a 10-12 inch screen. Its a decent price when you factor in a VS, arcade stick, screen etc. Not only that but you can customise the stick and buttons and replace with any other standard arcade 3rd party stuff.
I’d definitely prefer the Megaman one too. I think the variety of games is much more appealing 👍
@@GameFreak1976 Yeah, at first I said Street Fighter but the more I think about it Megaman cab offers better value overall from its games, and it looks better. The fact they went with an 8" screen is a bit meh tho. 10" is just about comfortable, 12" would of been perfect.
I think people may want this if they are new to Evercade and/or like this formfactor and/or are fans of the games exclusive to these Alphas. I would consider an Alpha if it had exclusive games that are personal favorites. I already have a handheld and a VS. BTW, this pushes the need for more Arcade carts and if more people join the ecosystem through Alpha or the other new hardware, maybe Evercade will be in a better position to get bigger licenses.
Exactly. I have a VS and both super pockets, so paying $229 for 6 games doesn't really appeal to me, it is cool though for people new to Evercade. Despite my personal feelings about these Alpha systems, I really do hope that they sell well, so that we can hopefully get Evercade to get up off their butts and give us more arcade ports.
Exactly what I’m hoping for. More Arcade carts. I really hope these sell well, even if I’m not purchasing either. It will benefit us all👍
I like the concept--especially for arcade titles which is why I first got into Evercade. The price is steep but if you compare to AtGames and A1Up not bad assuming the quality is good and better than A1Up. I have a SP and VS so was thinking of getting the EXP-R. So now I am torn between getting a compatible joystick with my VS and the EXP or getting the Alpha.
If I didn’t already have my Freakade, I’d definitely pick up the Megaman cabinet 👍

I'm probably not going to buy one, I prefer to play 2 player on a bigger screen, but it was so damn funny, I totally thought about you and your Freakade when they debuted the trailer, and just started laughing so hard! 😂 "Hey!! That's the Freakade with just a small, crappy 8" screen!"

Not real sure myself….especially at that price. Granted, they do look really cool though. I’m passing on both since I already built a full size cabinet that plays my Evercade carts👍
@@GameFreak1976 What you did makes more sense. I can't help thinking that playing awesome arcade games on products with tiny screens is pleasing no one in particular, but the market is awash with them for some unfathomable reason.
@@bigsammcbam6123, for sure man! Those arcade games NEED to be played on a bigger screen. They just don’t have that arcade “feel” on a small screen.
@@GameFreak1976 Been watching 1944 the loop master playthrough video after realising that it was on the super pocket. How anyone thought it was a good idea to put that out on one of the super pockets is beyond me. How can anyone play them on a small screen?
They look cool...but for me £199 is too much... £150 would have me more interested.. :)
Exactly my thoughts. They look awesome! But that price point is going to be the true test if it succeeds or not.
The fact is that it hasn't no HDMI port, the price I hold this back I'm my opinion. For me, the fact only 6 games built in and that it's Capcom doesn't excite me. If this was a Namco or Konami, it would have been more exciting. With all that said, I like that now Blaze will get attention in the arcade space and will hopefully come out with more arcade carts.
I'd love to see a Namco Tekken port rather than Street Fighter, personally. Also, 2 players is what makes a fighting game really fun... a single player cabinet, where the 2nd player has to use a regular Evercade controller, all huddled around that little screen just doesn't really appeal to me.
I'd rather play arcade games using a larger screen and arcade controls. This feels a bit cramped and awkward. Great for kids who can handle the smaller form factor.

I honestly didn’t know anything about Evercade until I started watching your channel. This looks pretty cool, scalpers will probably snatch em all up and gouge Evercade collectors. I do not have an arcade cab in my collection and if I stumbled into one I’d probably buy one. Your hybrid idea would’ve been sweet, I really need to get an Evercade system to check out the hype!

Mega Man does look pretty sweet though. I totally agree with you on that. I just wish that these cabinets had a better 2 player set up. I really enjoy playing Bad Dudes, the Dark Seal games and even games like Combatribes and more with my son. It just adds much more to the fun of those already awesome games. That Mega Man cabinet would be really damn cool for someone to have set up on a shelf or in a game room though. It might end up being one of those things where I'll look back and think, "Damn, I wish I had gotten that!", later on down the road.
An arcade cabinet like this, but with a track ball, with missile command, the centipede/millipede games, and other track ball arcade titles like those would have been really neat to see.
Track ball is the only way to play those games for sure👍👍👍👍
@@GameFreak1976 I do kinda get why they didn't though, you wouldn't be able to play much out of the other Evercade carts on a track ball set up. Imagine trying to play Cathedral with a track ball. 😂
@@jmatt781 , 😂😂😂😂…That would have been a pain in the ass! Would have been cool to have both a track ball and joystick attached though. I think that’d jacked the price up even more though.
Nice idea, but I don’t want more Evercade hardware. Looks cool, but would probably be the least comfortable way to play Evercade carts. And these are the pre-order prices, so if you think it’s expensive now…

Yeah, the Megaman one looks cool but seriously I like the Freakcade even more. I probably don't need it either since I have full sized arcade machines in my house to play games on just like your Freakcade. That cab is awesome!
Thanks brother! Greatly appreciated! I have a couple bar top arcades as well that are the exact same size as the Alphas. They cost half the price that Blaze is asking. I think the price point is going to hurt their sales expectations.
Not having an Evercade at the moment, I have decided to go the VS -R route and I will get the next mini console from Retrogames Ltd. Two consoles for the price of one Alpha.

Im hoping that because of the release of a tabletop arcade that this means Evercade is going to be releasing more arcade collections to go along with their new hardware.
Im considering picking up one of them, specifically the Megaman version. Although, the price point is kinda steep and I do have a lot of Evercade gear already so i haven’t decided yet. If I could see it in person, see the size how it feels etc, it would make the decision a little easier.
Also one thing I wonder about is what the operating system be like. Is it going to be similar to the VS and contain the library, unlockable / secret games, game of the month, and the double cartridge secret games? Or is it going to be more like the super pocket or handheld OS? If it’s going to be like the VS or better I’ll probably get it - I don’t use my VS much and generally play on my handheld, Super Pocket, or EXP; but I think I’d be more likely to play on a tabletop arcade

They’re definitely small. They’re pretty much the exact diameters of the 2 Arcade 1up tabletops I have. I’m not 100% positive how the 12 games are put into the Alpha, but I’d assume they are in emulation boxes just like Arcade 1up’s. I totally see what you’re saying though 👍. I’m going to be doing a video on the dimension comparisons of the Alpha’s and the two Bartop arcade 1ups I own.

@GameFreak1976 yeah The dimensions play a really large role in my decision making. Those arcade one up tabletops are somewhat small. I love the idea that you can play all of your cartridges and that is a big bonus. But the size....hmm

Exactly what I was thinking. I own 2 arcade 1ups that are the exact size of these. I paid $100 for one of them and $130 for the other. I’m baffled at the Alphas price point.
Terrible price point. And I would like to eventually add a console. Currently I only have an EXP to play.
You could get a VS and a dedicated arcade controller and it would be better than buying these

Good god these things are expensive!!! Weren't the Taito Egret Mini and the Sega Astro City Mini sold for (I'm sorry I forget, 130? $150?) when they were new? Even the Neo Geo Mini which you can bundle with controllers for waaaaay less money. How do they possibly justify so much more when they're offering so much less compared to the others? (I didn't see it officially said but I don't even think these suckers come with an HDMI out so your ONLY option is to play on that stupid little screen?!?!)
I know it was their plan to release this info today but I'm starting to get really pissed that we just keep seeing more garbage hardware and still don't even have one decent cart added to the lineup this year. Sigh. Oh well.

No online. Price is too high for what it is. I like the idea that the SF Alpha series is released but wish it was in a larger cab. I can play the Alpha games in other formats and this small format is just not convincing me.

I thought the MegaMan micro-arcade was about as ugly as a mud pie on a boggy beach. Strider would have been a better looking theme, even with the same selection of games built in.
It definitely has the better game selection of the two in my opinion. But “looks” wise, hell yeah I would have preferred a Strider theme. I’ve always felt that Strider doesn’t get the credit it deserves. I love that game.
Sei il secondo che vedo e dice che non lo comprerà. Anche io non lo comprerò,il prezzo e' troppo alto e ci sono pochi giochi installati. Poi da Evercade mi aspetto più cartucce con giochi migliori,le cartucce che hanno due o tre giochi mi piacciono tutte e sono tra le mie preferite. Se per loro e' un problema inserire tanti giochi buoni in una sola cartuccia a me basterebbero due o tre giochi ma bellissimi. Vorrei Cadillac Dinosaur,MC Kids,World Cup, fighting force uno e due,crash Bandicoot, Tekken,killer istinct,mortal Kombat,insomma giochi tutti di serie A.

@@bigsammcbam6123 , no doubt! They’ll have a riot on their hands if it bricks carts and erases the built in games lol. I don’t think these have firmware updates though….so they should be safe. I could be wrong though. I didn’t read anything about updates on them.🤷🏻♂️

@@bigsammcbam6123 , for sure! I’ve been pretty vocal on how I’m even against Wi-Fi on the VS and EXP. All it does is welcome new problems. WiFi just doesn’t equal “retro” in my mind.
