This tutorial is absolutely spot on in it's description....right down to the 10mm and 13mm sockets needed for electrical connections. Thank you Fred, you're the best!
Thank you for the video! Although it was hard to see, I now feel like I can do it. Just gotta get it home first. It died in a parking lot after my son and I had dinner, waited 4 hrs+ for AAA and being a super bowl Sunday they never found us a tow. Had to Lyft home. I was concerned it would be much more difficult but after seeing this I feel good about working on it myself 🙏🏼
Glad to hear that. this customer still drives the one in the video and it has over 200,000. Most I have seen lose the transmissions around 100,000 miles.
Thanks for the tutorial, it was informative for the CVT transmission. Unfortunately I have the Aisin 6-speed and starter is on the firewall side of the engine. A lot harder to get at, and I could not find a video specific for my car. It required removal of the air box, 3-way coolant line, throttle body, and the upper engine mount. I have big hands and needed to remove the engine mount. Someone probably could get in there without removing the mount, but it was taking too much time with it in place and there would be no way for me to get the rear starter bolt back in place! Getting this mount in and out is not too easy (the two lower/back bolts), but doable. Also to get the engine mount out, I also had to disconnect a second coolant line to allow clearance for the mount to come out. Good luck.
Thank you for the video! Making my day easy! Got a coworker who had a water pump go bad and already had a starter issue and wants it fixed.

My '07 has 260,000 and I'm just now having to replace the starter.
THREE HUNDRED and 40 thousand miles. My '05 500 "only has" 147K miles and I'm feeling encouraged as my starter just went out and tackling it.....
I have 187000 miles on my FF 2005. Still going strong. I m original owner. And i feed my horse right way.
Thanks for making the video I have to change the starter. It always helps to see something before you start doing it
Thanks Scott, I'm glad I was able to help someone today. Good luck it is pretty easy to change this starter out.

Great video! Thank you
Thank you for the information!
Thank you,
Good informative video.
Great idiot proof, step by step instruction for accessing the starter motor and replacing it. Thank YOU.......
Always glad to help!
Good job. Thanks !
I can't get the air cleaner box to come out... How is it attached to the mounting bracket below it??
Looks like there is one 8mm bolt on the front between the box and the core support.
Even he admits at start ford is trash 😂
