I couldn't believe my own eyes when I saw the thumbnail. This was THE CAR to look for by 1990 in Brazil. My uncle had an EX model that 30 years later had its MRSP sky rocketing as it became a collector's sought after model. Spent most of my childhood on the back leather Recaro seats and I can't believe that even nowadays that level of comfort is almost unmatchable.
This car was indeed really popular here in Brazil, we also got the Passat but it was more of a family car The Santana however was so good that we still see those around and was even used as a police car His production only stopped in 2006
My Godfather had a VW actual Santana in Latvia in the 90s just as a daily driver. Didn't think of it much then, but now it's a treat to see one rolling down the street sometimes. Love the trademark interior Old Car Smell. So cool to see it in the game.
The thing that annoys me about the cheated scores, at least the more egregious ones, is that it isn't that hard to prove out they are cheated. To cover a half mile in 6.562 second you'd need an average speed of 274mph, which is obviously absurd for a number of reasons. There are any number of simple validations they could add for PR stunts and Rivals that would address the vast majority of the cheated scores without having to bother trying to detect the cheating itself.
They manufactured the Santana in China since April 1983 all the way until October 2012, over the 38 year period they produced and sold almost 4 MILLION of them. As you can imagine it was THE most common taxis, police cars etc. They even took it rallying (and won!) since VW designed the Santana to have softer and longer suspension compared to the original Passat B2 to make it more drivable and comfortable in lesser developed contries where they don't always have paved roads.
The Santana isn't a Passat, it's mora of a middle ground between the Jetta and the Passat, in Europe it was sold between 1981-1984, but in Brazil for example, it has 3 generations
Imagine if they add a orbital wheel too, that would be perfect. For the people who don't know what wheel I am talking about here in Brazil people use orbital wheels in almost all the cars produced by Volkswagen, it's like a tradition. Only VW cars can have this wheels, in other brands like Chevrolet or Ford it doesn't match.
By the way, here in Brazil the VW Santana has a different nickname, we usually say the nickname Santanás. In portuguese satan is satanas, so people from Brazil sometimes make the analogy with the guy down there just to make a joke hahaha
Nice build thanks for showing the cheated run I can't believe turn ten doesn't have any sort of protection against that in the game I guess since horizon isn't really a "competitive" game they don't care much

So cool to see it in the game.
I feel this i very similar to the Nissan Tsuru. A low class racing series between these two would be fun
The Tsuru has it beat.
In Mexico we had the same model but was in the middle of the 80's, the name here was corsar, very beautiful car

It was famous in Brazil too!

@@Deigalo100 larguei as originais mesmo, infelizmente kkkkk
I was thinking that inline 5 swap would've been cool for this because it kinda looks like Audi Quattro especially when painted in black
The Santana seems like a cool car to add into eliminator
Santana was available in the UK and was called Santana. Passat if the time had squarer back lights.
Ayyy was looking forward to this video all morning
