International Student of the Month | January 2023: Stephen Kowinto (Year 2, SME, Muse)

Stephen Kowinto is a sophomore at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. He was born in North Sumatra in western Indonesia. His family moved to Tangerang in the Greater Jakarta metropolitan area when he was five. He has a little sister.
Indonesian-Chinese families emphasize the value of education. Since Stephen was little, his parents planned to send him to study abroad for college. They intentionally sent him to attend a boarding school, so their son could learn the basic life skills to prepare for future studies abroad.
