Remember, Ms. Andrews recorded for a major motion picture soundtrack in a then state-of-the-art recording studio with umpteen engineers / technicians etc. Suzan simply walked out on stage and sang it live for an appreciative audience. Not really realistic to compare the two performances.
This young lady did a phenomenal job! But I hardly think it's fair for you to imply that Julie Andrews voice was somehow changed by studio equipment! Ms. Andrews could have walked out on that stage and done the same thing.
Nicole Simpson Andre's sound setup seems in era professional. What I think here is that Suzan can jump up on stage and run with it rather than multiple takes and such.

While we all have a soft spot for the original singer of a song - in this case Julie Andrews, who of course is superb - it is wonderful to hear someone as talented as Suzan Erens sing this lovely song. Suzan's voice is so melodious, it flows out of her naturally, like the "laughing brook" of the song. It is a joy to listen to and the stunning background scenery shows us what a beautiful world this is. Appreciate it.
