Lots of great ideas! My dad commissioned me to build one based off the one my grandpa drove for 25 years. I want to put as much effort into as possible and this shows some areas to add.
I'm happy you can utilize some of the extras that I added to this model. There are many that are easy to add. Seat belts and engine details can really set you model apart from the rest. Other extras to make this kit better are adding the missing braces to the mirrors. These are small additions but make a difference. Have fun with your build and best of luck!
I’ve built a lot of these but yours is the most fantastic models I’ve seen. This one I could never match. If I ever build another one it wouldn’t have this great of a model wonderful ideas I would add. Thanks for posting such a great model.

Model building is as much a skill building hobby as it is fun and educational. You can achieve whatever you wish with your models. We (I) learn more with each build and that simply adds to our abilities. The important thing to remember is this is a hobby, it is for your enjoyment! That is what matters. I certainly appreciate your comment. When I opened the box I was surprised at how simple the frame was, being all one piece. But, a little work here and there seemed to work out okay on this kit. I started using a larger font and in bold print in future videos but, as you mentioned, it doesn't help much for this video. I'm learning as I go, especially when it comes to the background music. Thank you for watching the video and for your comment. Most of the rigs I have seen have the Alcoa aluminum wheels. Some are highly polished and some are simply bare aluminum. I like the look of the bare unpolished aluminum wheel. Using flat clear over the chrome plating seemed to achieve a convincing aluminum wheel. I have had my fair share of being up close and personal with semi rigs. I was never a long haul driver but did drive locally working for the public utility. I have had close contact with these machines. However, that still does not replace good research when building a kit. I always research what I'm going to build and the internet contains a wealth of information and photos on almost any subject. I apologize for the late reply. I am quite sure yours will turn out extremely well. The goal is to enjoy the building process and take your time. This kit is a good kit to start on and will turn out a nice model right out of the box. If you do chose to modify the kit just take your time and enjoy the process. Best wishes!
My experience with large trucks came from working for an electrical utility in the construction department. I mainly was behind the wheel of an all wheel drive 1982 Autocar. Talk about a tank! I also drove some Peterbilt's and KW's. Road Ranger and Spicer transmissions, even a couple of automatics. These were nothing like the nice conventional rigs on the street. The Pete in your photo looks like an awesome ride! I will be posting another video soon on the Revell Kenworth W-900 I built. Thank you for watching and for your comments!
@@modelsbymonte2431 Awesome, 10-4, & your welcome! i was born & raised in this profession & drove for over 25+yrs fore i unfortunately had to give it all up due to back injury! That was back in 2016! Kenworths have always been my favorites, especially those with the Kenworth Aerodyne sleepers!!! Drove quite a few different trucks thru the yrs. My favorite trannys were the "set of stick" combo setups! I put alot of miles on that ole girl there in the picture. She was my favorite of any Pete i drove. We definately had a feel for each other, for sure!!!A 1985 359 model with a 400 Big Cam III, 15 SPD EATON/FULLER ROAD RANGER, & 2:55's on the ground!!! She was slow going up a grade of anykind but fast as you know what out on the flat & level. Boss lemme name the truck after my niece Lacey, so the truck was called "Lil Lacey". . lol. Thankya for sharing your video. Job well done one the Pete!!! I look forward to more of your videos! Brings back memories of my modeling days! Im hoping i can get back into it again!
@@truckerray7533 Model building is like riding a bicycle, you never forget, it just may take some time to feel good in the saddle! Sounds like a nice career you had / have. I often thought that I would have enjoyed being a truck driver. I love seeing those conventional rigs on the highways when I travel. Yeah, I am definitely old school in that respect. I still have my CDL but I don't use it much anymore in my position. Keep a watch for my video coming out soon on the Kenworth W-900. I think you will like it. Thank you for watching the video and for leaving a comment. I examined two Peterbilt's while doing my research, both with air bags. The air brake chambers are located in front of the axle housing. Of course, these trucks are not the same year as the model kit so I may have gotten that wrong. If I come across an earlier model Pete I will definitely need to check that out. Patience is a huge part of detailing scale models. I have seen models that have extreme amounts of details added that took years to build. We learn as we build. Your skills increase with each build. I'm certain you have the skills, you may just need to slow down a bit as you mentioned. After all, kicking the ball is half the fun and so it is with building models. The building is the "Fun" part. I'm just about to start building this kit, yours came out really superbly. Can you remember what size aluminium tubing you used for the exhausts, please?

These are made for 1/32 scale aircraft but the letters are unreadable so I used them for placards on the engine and accessories for a touch of realism. Nice model, tho, the brake chambers should be mounted behind the axle housings, not in front. Overall , very nice build, I like the bug screen
