How do so many not know about this song? It's rarely mentioned when anyone talks STP. Weiland is brilliant here as usual. One of the best songs I've ever heard. #RIPScott
Not true they play alot out here in cali 90s at noon on one station another has grungeanluchin they both play about 8 to 9 stp songs and thats just cuz thats what requested if they requested a song from the album they will play it 98rock is better krxq. The other is 106.7 zrock chico ca the other is in sacramento
Came upon this song a couple of years ago well beyond the album came out. I listen to the song incessantly its so mesmerizing and beautiful. So under valued . Seems like it should be in a movie soundtrack Definitely a masterpiece!
Cody Little ..Ur Spot On With That C. L. I Thought It Was A Doors Cover, And I've Seen Both The Doors & S T P... Its Always Got That Jim/Scott Poetic Smoothness....Scott Had Many Inspired Entities In His Soul, & Was Extremely Sensitive To His Core...We All Love Him For His Unique & Bohemian Ways And For Sharing His Talents. Can U Even Imagine What He'd Be Up To Now...& STP As A Whole..WoW Yeh, Yeh, ♡☆☆☆☆☆♡
Scott was heavily influenced by Jim Morrison after all.....he did alot of work with the remaining members of the Doors, so I can see how he'd write this....good ear!
nice video mate, but the picture of México is funny at the minute 1:12, i'm mexican, no offends me bro but i would have like more a picture of a pretty woman or something like that
When I found out about Scott's death the first thing I did was listen to this song, I want to remember him like this, at his best, I felt such great pain that I felt like a brother had died, thank you Scott for your beautiful music and your magical voice, you will live forever through your art, may your demons never find you again, I know your struggle because it is also mine, opiate addiction for the addict means the destruction of all that is good and beautiful in this world, consume and disintegrate your soul, scott rest in peace brother and we will see each other in the afterlife.
Can we appreciate the drums and bass sections in this song? Everything is perfect in this song but I feel the drums and bass are extremely underappreciated. For a slow-paced ballad such as this, it's rare to hear anything more than basic beats but this guy totally aced it.
Awesome song - totally Doors-y. If I had not known this was STP and somebody told me this was some unreleased song from the Doors back in the late 60s - or - had the Doors survived and recorded into the 80's and 90's - this song would fit them perfectly. Just a beautiful STP rock n' roll song..
Hey give the guy a break, there were worse lyric videos than this 11 YEARS ago. For all we know this was some kid trying his hand at making something and he’s now a completely different person. Just enjoy the music ❤
I truly believe that musically, vocally, and harmonically -- stp is the greatest band ever. This song truly reveals the musical grandeur of this great band. Weiland's voice, easily could have pulled off a great musical.
I put stp in my top 3 with Floyd and Alice in chains. Stp were with out question the best band I ever saw live. Tight. Lyrics riffs Melody. Just perfection
This song is touched my soul, because I was born like Indigo child I feel emotions deeper of the people. When is Scott passed away I felt emotionally pain in my heart. I growth on this music '90s . Grunge forever ❤
He is? I didn't feel like the song/video was disrespectful in respect with it's mexican reference. You've gotta teach me how to point a cat without calling it a cat, so the mice don't get offended. Seems like a vital communication skill nowadays..
@@ivanglozinic1272 i almost choked when that image popped 🤣🤣 I also think it was inappropriately used in this video as it doesn't convey the emotions the song is conveying. I don't think Lisa meant inappropriate as insulting, just weirdly out of place since it's know as a meme lmfao The user took everything literal, could've found better pics lol
Brooo chill. You already bitched about the slideshow from a lyric video that’s almost 10 years old 5 months ago. Just pull up a new tab while you listen to the song. 🤷♀️
One of the most intimate STP songs and you butcher it with Word of the Day meme. Those are funny as shit sometimes, but it kills the beautiful TONE of this masterpiece.
Sorry it killed the song for you. Wanted to reply with the account, but Google verification let me lose this one. I made this when I was 12, so my artistic sensibilities weren’t as REFINED as ours here in 2021. Sneezing is offensive these days. Plenty of other lyric videos out there, sorry you didn’t enjoy mine!
+Dixie T and his love for great composers like Rogers and Hammerstein who wrote " My Favorite Things" from the motion picture "The Sound Of music" in 1965. Scott "borrowed" that vocal melody and used that vocal melody for this tune "Atlanta". look it up, "My Favorite Things" and you'll know where he got the idea for this tune with the help of guitarist Dean Deleon......please get back with me Dixie T and tell me why you think this song is about "heroin".
Everytime it gets to 2:38 of this video, I ca't help laughing out loud. It slowly builds up with the picture of funny pictures of a dude, cake, cake, woman with wings, then bam! Joker. Love the song.
did you knw that Mary was also from a hispanic culture as well. read her book fall to pieces, its pretty good. although Scott was rather upset her book was released before his. Can't blame him, she put a lot of good stuff in there. RIP Scott.

except she's of legal age with stp
Oh Hell What an underrated song by them. Never gets old!!!
I'm here with everyone here singing this song with a pain that can never seem to go away. We're here. We're not alone.
And it felt like Scott was sometimes the only one who understood.
nice video mate, but the picture of México is funny at the minute 1:12, i'm mexican, no offends me bro but i would have like more a picture of a pretty woman or something like that
True, nothing to do this picture on the video lol
Lol i'm mexican too, i'm not offended thats hillarious!😅😂
I miss scott i wish him layne and chris were still here rip u all are missed
My favourite things , the Doors , David Bowie, I can hear all of those.
The lyrics are , so beautiful,
I’m really touch , really.
Love to everyone.

What a GREAT comment 👏...
Absolutely stunning sentiment my friend, as a recovered opiate addict...I send you my respect, strength, magic, and love !!
Heroin or an imposible love... maybe there is no difference... They can destroy you the same.
I do believe he had no herion in system he did have other drugs though not sure just what i herd
thought it was about wife number 1
Both could absolutely apply Lucas...speaking from lots of experience. Well said bud 🙏
That mexican princess came and took him away,
Johnny Depp should cover this song in concert or on the upcoming record with Jeff Beck!

She lives on love street anybody? Big doors vibes i love it

Best stp song by far yet few know about it brings me to tears almost every time I listen to it
If you really listen...you can hear Scott,Bowie,&Mr.Mojo too
It slowly hypnotizes me
Where the River Goes did that for me too
This tune reminds me of a girl I dated briefly, and this album came out. Timeless!
His Jim Morrison influence really shows in this song
I’ve had this song stuck in my head for a good month or so now... and I still love it.
Why does this song never play a commercial first? I've played it a hundred times ... Never a commercial 🤔
Jim Morrison was channeled for this one.
Anyone else this song reminds on The Doors?
For sure!
Scott chanelling his Jim Morrison spirit un this beautiful song
Beautiful Beautiful song. Hear a lot here it remindes the Doors...
Doesn't it have a Nick Cave vibe, just a tad?
THIS SONG IS WHAT MASTERWORK SOUNDS LIKE. OUTSTANDING!
These slideshows always do more harm than good.

I lived in Atlanta for a time. The vibe there is magical for an artist. I read that him and Dean wrote this in the hotel on tour there
great song....just great....miss the 90's

It's still brilliant.
Que voz tan extremadamente hermosa la de Scott en esta canción, es mágico!!
My favorite of Scott & STP...R.I.P. Scott...:**{

Best of STP. RIP Scott
It’s his ode to heroine
This is just beautiful, the vocals are incredible
Rip Scott
Minha escuridão
Caminha por perto
Meu amor doentio
Escondendo-se de si
As portas que se abrem não são do céu
Meu amor
Foi-se embora e as memórias inocentes é tudo o que eu tenho
As portas não abrem para o céu
Perto do inferno
Minha alma está confortando-se como um porco na lama
Ela vem toda hora
Vem todo instante
Ela é minha amiga
Depois do sol
Perdendo-o para sempre
Ficando mais longe
Ela me leva pra perto do sol
Morando com a minha própria destruição
Grunge é vida!
He had beautiful unique voice, beautiful name (I like the name scott) and looked also handsome. :(
If I can learn to sing one song in my life and do it in front of people it would be this song
RIP SCOTT. WOW.
This song is touched my soul, because I was born like Indigo child I feel emotions deeper of the people. When is Scott passed away I felt emotionally pain in my heart. I growth on this music '90s . Grunge forever ❤
Could've been a theme for a 60's Clint Eastwood movie.
RIP Scott
Amazing song! The lyrics video was too cluttered and the guy wearing the Mexico hat is inappropriately placed.
He is? I didn't feel like the song/video was disrespectful in respect with it's mexican reference. You've gotta teach me how to point a cat without calling it a cat, so the mice don't get offended. Seems like a vital communication skill nowadays..

A slow, sensual, sad story of an exotic lover affair long since gone.
But, the slideshow should simply be removed.
I love you Andrea. So much.
It hurts.
:(
My mexican princess
As someone that grew up with the late '60s and '70s music all I can say that when my son introduced me to this song I fell in love with it.
This song is perfect.
What ever it's about ,it makes me think of my little copper brown dog !!!
Awful images do nothing but detract from a beautiful song.
Homeless people?!?! WTF?

This song is referring to his love for black tar heroin. Many people don't know this.
+Dixie T and his love for great composers like Rogers and Hammerstein who wrote " My Favorite Things" from the motion picture "The Sound Of music" in 1965. +Dixie T no, black tar heroin has nothing to do with this tune...but I'm curious to why you think so.
Ruud Bakker naw, homeless woman or a stray dog.....not heroin.
***** yeah, that makes a little more sense than "black tar" heroin.
+Puertecitos68 Scott's favorite type of dope was No4 heroin
clasic song remembering Scott
Everytime it gets to 2:38 of this video, I ca't help laughing out loud. It slowly builds up with the picture of funny pictures of a dude, cake, cake, woman with wings, then bam! Joker. Love the song.

Likely recorded in Atlanta, home of their producer, Brendan O'Brien.
