- Tokyo Sidekick caught my attention while I was at my local game store a few weeks ago. I played it several times since and here are my thoughts. Is Tokyo Sidekick the next game you should play? Let’s find out!
As always, I’ve had a blast making this video and I hope you enjoy it! It takes me a while to make these videos so you may see a gap in between releases. However, I’m currently working on several videos and I will keep searching for games to share with you! Take care.
Sincerely,
Solo Board Gaming Knight

Another game played, another game reviewed. Thanks for spending some time with me, it’s always fun making these videos for you. See you soon!

Wow! The art in this game looks SO good! I’ve never heard of this one before, so I appreciate you putting it on my radar! Btw I was wondering how you go about deciding which games to buy? I’m curious as to what your process is :D like what do you look for? Another great vid, Knight!!
Thanks! To answer your question, it depends. Sometimes, I find out about a game through reviews and if it calls my attention, I buy it. Other times, like Tokyo Sidekick, I’ll be browsing my local game store and if it calls my attention, I buy it and try it. When it comes to what I look for, I look for anything that looks cool and fun to play. I tend to get lucky, for the most part. There are a few games I’ve really not liked too much but overall, I’ve played some really awesome games just by following my instincts. If you ever play a game that you like, let me know about it. That’s another way I find out/learn about new games. Take care.
Boku no Solo Academia! It looks like a great game, but I wonder how long it will take before it feels a bit repetitive.
That was the biggest thing about this game that I am worried about, as well. It really is a great game but the beginning can feel similar as well as the end, once you’ve seen the Menaces. The heroes, sidekicks, villains and super villains help add a lot of variety, however.
Still, the gameplay loop is really fun and the upgrading mechanic is great! Unfortunately, it may get a bit repetitive. However, it is a great game to come back to every now and then. I just wouldn’t recommend playing it every day.
It looks like pandemic style of game which I like a lot. Specially the WoW and Cthulhu pandemic. I have the starwars pandemic just haven’t played yet. Like the comment if you have stacks of game still in shrink wrap. 😂😂😂
I don’t have any game in shrink wrap but I’m going to still like your comment! Lol! This is a good game. The only issue comes with the final Kaiju. Once you fight them, you know how they’re going to react. Other than that, it has a fun leveling-up and deck-building mechanic. It’s not too expensive, either.
Lol I have quite a few in shrink still. Some because I want to play with painted minis while others is because I have the focus of a toddler and sometimes get distracted by another shinny object. Lmao.
It looks good. I will put it in my list to get.
@@boardsandstuff5008 I know the feeling! Just recently, I preordered Hoplomachus Victorum just as I told myself I wasn’t going to get anything for a few months!
@@SoloBoardGamingKnight hahaha me too and ended up going all in on oathsworn. Lol ups. Now to get my wife another coach bag. Lol
@@boardsandstuff5008 I registered to receive an email when there are copies Oathsworn available. That is my most anticipated game!
This game looks epic
It’s really good!
I found that the everdell sleeve king fit those mini card perfectly (8840). It looks like you are using 8803s
Thank you so much! I’m really glad you mentioned this! I had a hard time finding the right sleeves for this.
Also, I just checked their website today and found out the acrylic standees were back in stock. I ended up ordering them.
@@SoloBoardGamingKnight the box for the those standees arent that great. The box basically falls apart. The top plastic lid is taped on top the box to keep everything in. The bases easily fall out of the 3 plastic trays once you untape it. I think i might have lost a base, but luckly they come with plenty of bases. We will need to find a better storage, but they do look nice on the board
Maybe you can check for me once you get yours in. I have 6 yellow bases, 9 clear bases. 9 white bases and 12 black bases
@@TheErnieforss Sure! I’ll let you know as soon as I receive mine. Too bad the packaging isn’t great. Hopefully there’s no damage or missing parts once it arrives. For the price, you’d expect it to be packaged better.
