I watched several videos before doing this replacement myself. Yours is the only one that actually "mostly" did a thorough step-by-step and so yours was the most helpful.
Thank You so much for saying that. That means a lot to me because I didn’t think it was very thorough, so many things I wish i’d done differently but It was my first try at a video like this so I’m glad to hear it was still helpful X)!
One of the best car repair videos I’ve seen with better camera production than 99% of videos on UA-cam. Straight to the point and I appreciate the time you took.
Nice work. Good for you. I unbolted the inverter (2 bolts), lifted it up a bit and kept it raised with a piece of wood, and got the pump out through the extra space. Just in case someone wants to try that way.
I watch several mechanics on UA-cam just for entertainment. Somehow your video was better done than the people that make their living doing this. Good job.
The only thing that matters is you took the challenge . In almost all cases you can buy all the tools you need and still save money . Plus what people forget is they has to earn about $300.00 after taxes to pay a $200 bill. I just did my inverter pump from the top took about an hour , same Prius 2007. Boy do I know the feeling of laying under a car and not getting anywhere.
Hey! Thank you! I absolutely agree! And yeah, so true! And the way I see it is that doing things like this yourself has repeat long term benefits as you’re more likely to do more of them in future so it doesn’t just save you cost now but again and again.
Great job!! See, u can do it! Beautful eyes!😍 Please, wear shoes while wrkn.😉 Good idea priming the pump (pouring coolant in it). I remember wrkn on cars like Cromagnon man with tools, but buy them one at a time. U still get the job done. Keep up the good work! 😁
If you still have your rig, clean that fan for the HV battery and do your PCV Valve. Strong Prius! 4 WS Toyota quarts for your transaxle too. $1000 tune up for under a hundred bucks.
Great video - very thorough with tools needed, all steps clearly visible, etc. In looking at some other videos on UA-cam, it looks like they just opened the hood and came in from above, vs taking off the front fender. What was the rationale for doing it this way?
would you recommend this aftermarket pump? I found a similar one on amazon but read some comments about them not lasting long. Please let me know how yours is holding up. Thanks.
I only had the car about 6? More months before I got a different one so it’s hard to say long term but honestly I found it easy enough to change them that even if I did have to change it again I wouldn’t mind :) and if I were in your shoes; i’d take the chance.
@@amarjitsingh3773 Yes. Happened on both my brothers Prius and mine. There can be other causes of the red triangle 🔺 but for both of us it was the inverter pump. 🙌
Yes! It was great! I don’t have the car anymore as I was the victim of a “hit and run” about 4 months later and it totaled the car so I had to replace it, I have a Prius V now (the larger one) but it was working flawlessly the entire time after the pump repair until the accident.
@@Lifeskope I see, that's unfortunate, but at least you have a bigger one now, newer too. Keep up the good content, people that like to do these things by themselves will find these videos useful.
@@hedgehogthesonic3181 Hey! sorry I didn't see this message... To be honest: The normal prius seems to be way better. The Prius V has been a nightmare for repairs. I only say this because I'm not the only one... My whole family owns Prius vehicles and both me and my Mom upgraded to Prius Vs and it's been super problematic compared to the normal Prius. I love the Prius V body itself but it's needed so many repairs. I had to replace the entire engine on it within a year of getting it and then the hybrid battery a year later. It's been fine since those major repairs but overall it's been a money pit for me ... The most expensive car I've ever had. -- I ended up giving it to my boyfriend a year ago though because I now have a 2007 Ford Escape that I love love love (...no where near the good gas mileage as the prius' but I love it none the less)! Hope this helps!

There was so many juvenile “that’s what she said” moments that I forced myself not to comment on. Great video!
This video was really well shot! Clearest and most thorough ive seen on this job. Good work!

Beautiful
Nice job
good
I appreciate the video but it would've been good to see you remove the actual cable to the inverter. That part was skipped over.
All good and very interesting. Are you sure the plate is soldered on? I could see it moving somehow. May be I am wrong?
Hmm, yeah I’m afraid I don’t remember. It’s been too long lol
@@Lifeskope Thank you for your kind reply. I have sold mine and was a very reliable car. I am using the version 3 now which is really good too.
