I love what the Lions did by doubling-down on CB to find a guy that can play. My guess is one of the two will be starting early on in the season. Manu is going to be a while yet, and Vaki while intriguing, everyone agrees he is most likely a special teams guy. I'm most excited to see how much value and depth the Lions get from Wingo and Mahogany dropping
As excited as I am to see how Arnold & Rakestraw perform, I'm more excited to see if Branch, Campbell & Jamo make observable jumps this season. Branch was so good as a rookie. Imagine him better!
Brian Branch is
MOST EFFECTIVE IN THE BOX!!
He’s more affective close to the line of scrimmage
The backend of our D now!?
By the end of the year no major issues?

STUDS!
Aaron Glenn prefers to start Vets vs. Brad's draft picks. Never seen anyone get a bigger pass than AG. There is so much talent on the Lions Defense that many starters are now on the bench. Lions better be a top 10 defense this year, no excuses.
Grabbing the "best" player on the board doesn't mean he will fit your system, whereas picking the "best" players that fit the system has made Brad Holmes successful.
Giovanni Manu looks like he could be Penei Sewell's little brother with a similar monstrous presence on the line. Playing him next to Penei will give Goff some comfort, knowing the right side is impenetrable.
The possibility of Jake Bates signing with the Lions (if they pursue him) is that he already feels the football fan base in Detroit and signing with a contender helps too.
Really they were drafted to be good for a long time. We filled the needs and picked the players that are projects for the future. An A draft IMO
It sounds like Sorsdal will move to tackle given that Manu and Mahogany will be playing guard.

I'm buying MAJOR stock in Vaki. He can run with power and elusiveness. He has the wiggle to play slot. He can lay the wood picking up blitzes and blocking. He can run downhill like Monty, can bounce outside if needed, and reads blocks very instinctively. He's a 5 plus tool player with major explosiveness. He could literally play every snap in the game other than field goals. Brad did not trade next year's 4th for a core ST guy. They've got a real vision for this guy. He's gonna be this year's Laporta: comes out of nowhere to shock people.
My FAV to see in Camp

VAKI!!
Rumor has it that Mahogany has one leg shorter than the other. So what! He ain’t sprinting.
Because of INJURIES

All these ROOKIE DB’s will get playin time!!
EVERYONE SEEMS TO SKIM OVER
JACK CAMBELL!!
-
The ROOK was the SECOND BEST TACKLER ON THE TEAM WITH ONLY 70% of snaps!
-
He is going to be even BETTER!
On pass downs
-
If our new D lineman STAY HEALTHY
OUR D WILL BE SCARY
REMEMBER AS FAR AS RUNNING THE BALL
-
THE OTHER TEAM GETS THE SAME RULES!!

Changing the Tackle rules
HORRIBLE

Gonna take a ton of time for Arnold to unseat CD III and Amik. He'll get his feet wet on certain packages, but Amik is not giving up that job. Why? Because Brad gave him 9.5 mill? Why? Because he's friggin good. Period.
