Reproductive biology student here: the phenomenon discussed at 14:00 is a 100% real occurrence. It occurs in a fraternal twin environment (two seperate ovaries are released instead of one) where two active male samples are present and one activates one ovary cause it to plant while the other sample activates the other ovary causing it to plant. As you can imagine it is an extremely rare occurrence. Not only is the chance of fraternal twins 2% out of twin births average but to have the presence of two samples as well as having both samples be equally fertile, plus the further chance of a dominant fertilisation by a single sample, leads this phenomenon to be approximately 0.01% of twin births, significantly lower when you apply the chance of twin births as opposed to single child births. What James is speaking about is identical twins which surprisingly enough only require a single male cell in order to fertilise the egg. This is because identical twins are born from the same ovum that splits as James states. However this cannot lead to the scenario described as only one sample is required to fertilise both twins.

Listening to y'all try and explain reproduction is painful. A woman can release two eggs (this is how you get fraternal twins) and each egg can then be inseminated by a different man leading to two different fathers. If she releases one egg and the egg splits (identical twins) then both children must have the same father because the egg can not split until *after* insemination.

I am a huge advocate for fathers getting a paternity test on "their" children. You may think that child is yours, but father's are never 100 percent sure. All you need is a some hair from the child and a swab from you, take it to your local lab corporation and it can be done discreetly. 👍🏼💯🤝🏻
