Attn NASCAR Cup teams; if anyone named Brodie, Will, Chaz, Cam or even Garth ring up and ask for a seat on a road course, press the GO switch
RP should also give a GO to the guy he employs….
Its time for Scotty Mac give a try for Nascar too .. The only guy SVG hardly beat during Supercars time is him ..
@@amirulfaezsamiran1742lol SVG won a championship when McLaughlin was there.
Tander is past it tbh, and Krashtecki has a long way to go yet.
@@ray.shoesmith Tander just won the bathurst 1000... and Kostecki is leading the championship. What are you on about?
Gat dang legend SVG. One of the best Cup series wins of all time
Been following all forms of motorsports since the late 70's. This is very high on my all-time moments list. 'First time a debut driver won in this series in was 63 years ago!' What a phenomenal run! Wtg SVG & crew!
Now we know what the crowd felt at LeMans rooting for the new kid!
Great production of the venue NBC...
Just imagine what Lowndes, Skaife, Murphy or Whincup could’ve done if they’d been given a shot in NASCAR
If Leigh Diffey were calling this race…oh boy he would have been super excited!
They act like he is some kind of up and coming driver. "Young man". 3 time V8 supercars champ is completely in his element on a street circuit.
Also had more career wins than any of the NASCAR drivers
I was there and want to say those drivers went thru alot with weather and still put a show on so congrats to them
What a beautiful commentator booth backdrop of the city.
Shane van Gisbergen use to participate in the D1NZ drift series as well.
Well I'm a V8s fan, It's exciting but I do think he had a huge advantage against the Oval track guys. Shane's used to this kind of track but it's completely new to them. I reckon NASCAR would do well to find a place where they can build a Bathurst style track with a full on mountain section, that'd really be entertaining for the fans.
Supercars races on circuits even narrower than this.
It's called Road America.
@@AndrewBlacker-wr2ve love road America, favourite track on Forza Motorsport but it doesn’t have the same elevation change, gradients and narrow concert lined but high speed mountain corners, it’s completely different actually
Not even in his top 5 celebration burnouts 😂
"He's been watching Nascar" Uhhhh... Yeah, sure if that makes you feel better buddy.
He even told the reporters he ain't watched NASCAR in 10 years 😂 the cheek of these guys disrespect the 3 time Champ.
Well you should checkout his burnouts in Sports car
The Gizz...chur kiwi ⛳
Shane is not only good at touring cars, formula racing and rallying. Now, he is even good at stock car racing, that man can win in any machines.
Speedway, Quad racing, GT Racing, Le Man's GTE Pro, Daytona GTD
& D1NZ
He's even done some drifting
Mixing it up ! but road racing tracks are how we do it downunder :)
Nascar got a new Rookie 😂❤
Two thoughts......
1. Smoke.....put this guy in SRX real quick..........
2. I miss Boris Said
100% win ratio in NASCAR, nice tag line to hold on to. Way to go van Gisbergen! Blaney, please seek this fellow for advice...
Since the NASCAR package resembles an Australian Supercar, I expect the Supercar drivers can be very competitive. Now, if the Cup cars ran a track anything like Mt. Panorama, I might actually watch again.
LeMans helped. Lots of drivers saw that car pretty much be faster than all the GT3 cars and this helps too.
Last year SVG had a top 5 finish there for his GTE Pro class debut.
Aussie V8 Supercars is great racing and in a lot of ways better. Cars look like road cars. Tracks are narrower and more technical.
WAY 2 GO SVG!
The cup cars are no longer “Stock cars”
Sports car racing actually.
Was svg eligible to qualify for the chase with this win?
No. He doesn't race full-time. This is a one-off for him
Nope, it only applies to full time drivers but Justin Marks is a very smart man though to bring him in, very smart.
@Nascar You should let SVG get waiver & let him go for the Nascar Championship now he won the Nascar race in his first time racing in the series he should of qualifyed for the championship race anyway if he was a Nascar Full-time driver like Ross Chastain won his race last week in Nashville it would be best if he won the whole thing.
Disagree. Should have to Commit to the Full Season.
@@BengtsonJ Kyle didnt
Nascar drives can't turn right lol svg just cruised till the end and then showed them how to do a skid😂
Not really what happened...
@@nomadman5288
For him it was a Sunday drive.
Yeah he drove very careful you can watch his whole race in car, he's so early on the breaks and late on the throttle, keeping it calm in the wet. The standard of driving at Supercars is extremely high and aggressive, always has been. Shane on an oval track, with all the drafting and stuff that he isn't used to, that's what we really want to see.
@@Slipperygecko390 YOU SOUND LIKE U HAVE BEEN RACING FOR YEARS, SO HOW MANY WINS U GOT, WHAT ABOUT CHAMPIOSHIPS, DRIVING AROUND IN CIRCLEE ISNT HARD
@@jimmyjames1807
For a start they aren’t circles. And ‘ovals’ are tough, Marcus Ambrose found that out
My guess is they wont be doing these again. NASCAR fans are use to seeing much, much more of the track and of the racing, not just a little bit in front of you. Another one of NASCAR's blunders.
And road courses have expanded within the schedule and are exactly the same as this; it used to be sears point and Watkins glen and now we have like 6-7 on the schedule. Remind me how they do awful with fans
