I love the fact you both are go getters and have set a strategic plan to evolve your travels. I am sure you both will land a bigger opportunity through connections. Your videos are amazing and so entertaining. Keep us informed and enjoy life
Hi, we are Lyn and Bob and we have just started watching you guys, we picked you up from your 'farewell Forster' episode and we have been hooked ever since. So we have a bit of catching up to do!😊. Must say watching this. You both look so much brighter. 😊
Not sure why you popped up in my feed as you guys are pretty much the total opposites to us really tbh. For me it was all about stopping working and enjoying my days doing what I want with my time. Being broke in my later years was something I wanted to avoid at all costs. We live in a nice tourist town but I can't even imagine selling a place like you had and going travelling or having to work such a tough job all hours of the day. I wish you luck and may follow your journey and I guess it goes to show how different we can all be I suppose.
I'm glad we popped up in your feed because I enjoyed reading your comment. :) Our plans changed as we went through life. We had a fair chunk of saving but it was just money sitting in a bank account. Al got sick and it was a tough few years. After that our attitude about money changed and we made a decision to do what we wanted for the moment. We both loved to travel so decided to quit work and travel full-time instead of stand in front of a classroom. Yes, we spent all our savings, but we still have a house on the Gold Coast, so we will never be homeless. Working in a resort is different for us but I still have 16 years before retirement age and Al has a little less. We are only working again so we can again enjoy our days doing what we want with our time - travelling. :) Thanks for watching. :)
Love your honesty, happy go lucky positive beautiful couple. Keep videoing and promote where you are at the time. Local eatery’s must see must dos and you can’t be any more real than you are. 🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️ glad your back 🦋🦋🌺🌺🦋👏👏
Good luck with the new venture. I know about running motels and yes they are a lot of work. It’s rare to leave the motel as so much to do. I hope you get back travelling soon
Aww wondering where you guys went. Sounds like a really cool change for the next few months. You are both looking healthy and well. Keep going with the vids guys. It will all come together for you! Xx

Hey can you guys show us around Australia. I’m from America and will begin my slow travel very soon. Australia is in my bucket list. Can you just show us regular life there like grocery stores you guys going to coffee shops and some dinner in some of the tourist spots. But mainly how do I get around the area. I won’t be driving are there trains or busses available in the fun areas. Thanks for the video guys it’s nice to see non instagram people show us real life in Australia.
Some great ideas. Oz is huge - so getting around will be different everywhere. However I am confident in saying if you are happy with the public transport options in the USA you'll be over the moon with the options here. In the capital cities you'll have no problem with transport but if you're staying a little while, buy a 2nd hand car (sell it before you leave) and drive yourself. Once you get used to driving on the opposite side of the road, you'll be fine! :D Enjoy your Oz adventure!
Good on you guys. We need to take risks to enjoy life and you guys are doing that. I moved from Mermaid Beach to Cairns Beach's 2 years ago. Loving it. I'm also please you kept the house on the GC. The house is a must keep. Great to see you again. PS: I can fly direct to Bali from Cairns, that was the deal breaker when I bought up there😊😊
Oh wow! Nice move. Cairns and the surrounds are beautiful! Yes, dotting all our i's and crossing our t's now, so we can get back out there again and do what we love! :D
Yes to Bali! :D We are finding out just how long the hours are - yesterday 1 started at 6am and finished up at 6:30pm... normal for Bali but no for us. :)
Hello from CA & many thanks 4 all your great traveling videos, esp in Australia & Bali. I traveled in Indonesia for years before the net and look forward to more adventures(never left me). Also, when i had cancer i moved to Indonesia 2 recover from a stressful life in the US & slow down. Does Australia schools pay well 4 sub teachers? In CA, $250 daily. Or are you both looking for a new path? Thank you 4 all your public service & wonderful videos. You are heroes! Did you both work in the inner cities of Australia? Or in the suburbs? Teachers never leave the suburbs in CA. While in the inner cities, there are always vacancies. Take care, enjoy & looking forward to your caravan videos!
Hi and thanks for your lovely comment. :) Firstly, it's wonderful that you survived cancer and you're right, Bali would have been the perfect place to recover from a stress filled life. Yes, casual teaching does pay well - approx $400 per day in my state. We worked in both - cities and rural. In QLD you get a permanent appointment straight away if you commit to 2-3 years in a small rural town. So when we moved states, that's what we did, worked in a 400 person town before moving back to the city. We make a lot less than $400 each day working at the resort now, but we're very happy! Being happy, travelling and living a stress free live is what it is all about, isn't it? :)
Hi Al & Deb, We watch you all the time through my hubby's google account (Chis Connor). We just watched your video on working on the Gold Coast in a resort. We are looking to do something similiar once Chris retires down the track. What sort of real estate course should I look to do? I assume you are studying remotely??? Cheers
I signed up for a course called Resident Letting Agent Licence. I didn't need it to get the job at the resort I am at now, but figured it would be beneficial to have down the track if we decide to continue this path. Just be aware that each state has a different course and they don't transfer.
Over a year as nomads and money ran out. Need to take a hard look at your finances. In your 40s- 50s thats a concern. Big shovel required, IE more dollars coming in..
We have no concern. We enjoy life the way that we want to live it and are very happy doing so. Money comes and goes. When it goes - make more! Easy! Since we have no loans or credit card debt we can save easily. So, thanks for your concern but there is no need for us to take a hard look at our finances - we're sorted!
Thanks for the advice. We have lived in the USA before so know what to expect there and I've travelled in NZ and yes, the prices were crazy there... lol. Haven't been to Canada - so good to know. :D
I think you are missing a trick... You make good content, so make more content, get more views and sell products off the back of it, affiliate marketing could be your way forwards. Over the past few years, I've done a lot of blogging, built up a website, opened an eBay shop, and this year am going to make lots more (and better) youtube content. Sell what you know.
I'm just wondering if you thought you would have more subscriptions and maybe some sponsors after spending so much time and effort putting your heart and soul into creating content for people? I love your vids 😊 Do you feel you need to be more scripted into creating a more engaging audience? I don't do what you guys do and I am very supportive. This sort of passive income seems extremely hard. So I'm curious to see how you both feel about this. Have traveled alot but to old for the social media gold Rush. I hope you get the ability to do this without spending your life savings. Believe in your dreams xoxo
I enjoyed thinking about what you've written. Did we think we'd have more subscribers? NOOOO! lol We thought we wouldn't make it past 330 and still to this day wonder what people like enough about our video to make them want to subscribe and watch more. :D Our videos are more about making memories. I want to be able to look back on our videos when I'm 90 and be reminded of all our fun adventures so scripting videos would not really work for us - however, I do understand your point and agree it would totally increase revenue opportunities. We just want to be true to ourselves and authentic for our audience and scripting more than the basics feels a little bit fake to us. We have had a few sponsor offers, but they were not for things that we would spend our own money on, so we knocked them back. Thanks so much for watching and supporting our channel! x
@alandeb That's great And I'm pleased that you feel that way. I love you tube and see so many people just repeating what others have done, which makes sense if your trying to make money from it. Making memories is definitely the way to go, and the fact you share that with the world is amazing. I am very thankful that you have shared your journey with me. But I am a little sad that you guys that you haven't got the props you deserve as far as funding your future travels. My favourites are One pack wonderes. They are so genuine beautiful people that have been offered the world as far as sponsorship is concerned. They tral full time and have done for years now. They are very honest and open and have there travels covered by what they make on you tube. Please check them out. It's not scripted but might give you guys a bit of inspiration Take care Al and Deb xox9
