SYND 13 4 79 NEW PRESIDENT OF UGANDA LULE HOLDS PRESS CONFERENCE

(13 Apr 1979) Yusuf Lule has been appointed acting-President of Uganda. As the leader of the Uganda National Liberation Front (UNLF), Lule was installed as President by neighbouring Tanzania who had toppled Idi Amin with help from the UNLF.
