I purchased a new Upright Ibach identical to this in 2007 but in black. beautifully made and a joy to play..My most treasured possession.Thank you for your assessment of this beautiful instrument.
I am surprised that you make out, in your statement, that the WEST German pianos were the superior instruments. Bluethner is and was in Leipzig, which is in what had been East Germany. I would just say that the GERMAN pianos, period, are the best.
When I was thinking of putting my lovely Knabe studio upright in storage for a year, my technician implored for me to leave it with him. He loved that Knabe (a genuine one from Rochester) so much that it was his favourite house piano for that year.
The statement perhaps is lacking a condition as to the period, Bluthner is perhaps my father favourite from East Germany, however during the Iron curtain post war the quality dropped of most goods produced in East Germany hence the differentiation, the quality has since picked up again. Best wishes, Evan Roberts
Beautiful demonstration, and Beautiful Piano, thanks 😊
Ibach is now my favourite piano maker.

Wow, what a piano treasure you have demonstrated, Sir. Duly noted!
I fell in love with my iBach at first hearing!
Very unusual, a green piano, I would imagine. Steinway's have made concert grands with a bright red gloss finish and very striking they are.
Very cool, never seen something like this before
Nice !!
Have this 1
Just makes me wish I lived in the UK
