- Found! - DAMN you guys are good!!
It's this one I remember:
• Swinth (aka Light Fant...
But I got the G# in the chorus wrong (it seemed logic when the start part is doing it), and the high part I play in the end, I have no idea where I got it from, it's not in the song :D
....but I made it 151 BPM it should have been 149,8 ...I must have a good internal beat, when I remember after 40 years :D
And I had NO idea it was a real song, I have never heard it before, it's SO f*cking cool this 12"
• Saturdays In Silesia (...
---
I think it's a C64 tune, I played it on my keyboard in the 80's, maybe it was something I composed, I really don't remember.
I tried recreating it as I remember it.
Please let me know in the comments if you know the title.
A little fun video, showing that fast 1½ octave change in 240 fps: • 240 FPS Slow Motion of...
You did a great job recreating something just from your mind 😁👍One of the first demos I got on my C64 was a synth sample demo with graphics on the screen. This particular track was the cover of Rational Youth - Saturdays In Silesia very impressive how close to the original you got it from memory. The pet shop boys song 'Rent' gives me the same vibes as this song.
Yes it's strange having these thing in the brain :D
I have never heard the original before, I love the music in it, not so much the song.
Yes "Rent" is using the same chords, even in the same key!
"Saturdays In Silesia" by Rational Youth. It was on a demo disc for a piece of C-64 software called P*A*S*S which let you create soundtracks that could be run from a SYS command while a BASIC program ran so you could incorporate SID music into your own programms.
Yes I found out :)

To me this tune started way more bizarre: I didn't own the C64 yet, had to do my job as a paperboy for some more weeks but I got that copy of a tape, a music cassette, that a friend of mine recorded from his C64 with all the current tunes... back in the day, 1985... great work by the way, I followed the story over there at Facebook in the C64 group :)
Funny story. What a time it was :)

Rational Youth - Saturdays In Silesia, is the original and then somebody made it on the c64 (probably not you) =0) ua-cam.com/video/AiHyTJsE3AU/v-deo.html at 5:08

@@thhedk Yes, I know you looked for it, as I actually commented on your video back then, and I honestly thought you had found the correct version, but i can hear there differences between the one I linked to, and the one I commented on back in 2022. Back in the C64 days it was actually this version ua-cam.com/video/1vSNPCcDAAE/v-deo.html I heard first, and then later on I saw the Swinth version demo. Back then it was quite hard to find out who came first with something and who "borrowed" what afterwards. All music it seemed were okay to rip from games and demos and then use it to whatever you wanted to. Sometimes people even remembered giving credit to the original creator =0) A lot of the real life synth composers/groups I found thru c64 covers. Many years later I have tried finding the orginal composers. This one was the hardest to find, as I actually didn't have the sid at the time I started looking deepsid.chordian.net/?file=/MUSICIANS/F/FCS/Rain_edit.sid , I just remembered it was called The Rain. Many years looking It turned out to be this one: ua-cam.com/video/i1Od2QnMVDw/v-deo.html and.... let's just say the C64 sid is clearly the winner =0)
@@baryler Yes a lot of those old tunes and demos we knew, turned out to be real songs :)
@@baryler I know, I love it!
Don't know this one T, but do you know Shadowfire (C64) by Fred Gray? Would love to hear your rendition of that one!
Don't know it. I will give it a listen
@@thhedk One of the best c64 tunes in my opinion.
Never knew the name of it but I think I remember hearing in intros and/or cracking screens.
