    why is it so many can tell you what and how he is doing what he does, but no one has even come within lightyears of his infinite abilities

    Most of Hendrix solos and fills were derived from the minor key (blues)--sometimes, he uses the major scale, eg, on Wing Cries Mary, he uses major key over several of chords, (shifting keys of Eb/Db/Bb/and shits back to blues over Db.

    Dude kickass explanation about why it sounds good together. Gave me one of those moments where a whole mess of things finally made sense. Thanks brother. Amazing. It's like I'm listening to Neil Degrasse Tyson explain physics. Smooth.

    Thanks for this insight. It feels like Hendrix did play these types of notes in a song called "Crash Landing". During Rhythm sections, (listen to it) (find it) it's awesome!

    Awesome scale! What would you call this scale, besides the Jimi Hendrix scale of course?
    I mean, is there an official title to it?
    And thanx for sharing, CU, Oscar

    Hey the video was amazing. Could you do a video on melodic major (major scale with a flat 6th)? I can't find any information on it

    • @baileyhigham9264
      @baileyhigham9264 7 років тому +1

      Michael White that scale would actually be a minor scale with #6 & #7. Or an easier way of thinking about it is as a regular major scale with a b3. Hope that helps!

    • @michaelwhite8017
      @michaelwhite8017 7 років тому

      Bailey Higham thanks I'll check that out. i thought it would be related to melodic minor but it was off. I must have made a miscalculation thank you

    • @baileyhigham9264
      @baileyhigham9264 7 років тому

      Dave B. Correct, just using the # as a lazy shorthand haha I also though he said "melodic minor" but I believe the scale he is referring to is just a mode of melodic minor.

      And I did a little research on it, here is a good forum on the scale www.harmonycentral.com/forum/forum/guitar/acapella-40/1882748-

    So, this is basically a "Pentatonic Mod" of a Harmonic Minor?

    • @cochonoob
      @cochonoob 7 років тому

      I don't think so because you can see that there is a tritone from the root (A flat) to the D. So this D is either a sharp fourth or a flat fifth. My guess is it's a sharp fourth because the pattern would be similar to the third mode of melodic minor which is lydian #5 without the major second and the major sixth.
      So A flat is the root, C the major third, D the sharp fourth, E the sharp fifth, G the major seventh.

    • @creativeguitarstudio
      @creativeguitarstudio  7 років тому +2

      It's an arpeggio. View it from the root of our chord of "E7(#9)." It's an "E7#9b13" arpeggio.

    • @cochonoob
      @cochonoob 7 років тому

      Oh I see. Our error was to consider A flat was the root just because it was circled on the pattern. ^^

      That's what happens when you don't watch a video till the end! ^^'
