Do you need to do both brake pads and rotors at the same time? Or can you do pads on its own?

You don't have to do bother

@@bucksgarage1 Thanks. I just did mine today! Your video was alot of help. However, a couple things:
      1. The video you linked for the sensor reset doesn't work for the 2019 X3 G01. The procedure to get into the diagnostic mode requires you to actually press the start button 3 times in quick succession (when the car is completely off). The car will go into diagnostic mode. When everything has loaded, you can THEN press and hold the odometer reset button.
      2. We actually did the sensor the other way around. Unplug from the blue clamp first, then thread it through the caliper. That way you actually don't have to pull the sensor out of the old pads. Then reverse when installing (ie. Put the pads back first, plug in the sensor into the pad, then thread it through the caliper, install the caliper, and finally plug it back in from the blue clamp).
      3. Your tip with the clamp + pads on the caliper is spot on. We did exactly this when we changed ours!
      4. Pumping the brakes at the end was another helpful tip.
      Thanks again!

Great way to start my morning, with BMW repairs. I found some rust preventative Raybestos rotors from Rock Auto for my 07 X3. Being in MN, it SURE it notable between those and the ones on my current X3 (2012)

Awesome video. Did you have to anchor your lift to the concrete floor? Also, does this lift require an air compressor? I’ve been looking at a lot of your videos, great content.

Really sorry I didn't see this when you posted it. No compressor or anchors needed. Just a 120v outlet.

Did you really have to replace the rotors too? I find it weird with so little mileage.

No but he figured he saved so much doing it ourselves that he sprung for new ones.
