The D700 was the bomb back in the day.The colors and dynamic range seemed amazing at the time. It was a helluva lot better than any APSC stuff I was using back then.
@@MMPAspergerian I just sold my D3X tonight but am keeping the D700! I’m going to buy a used D810 to allow for higher MP count to allow for cropping wildlife shots but I’m never selling my D700.
Your impression is spot on and completely resonated with me. I moved away from the Canon ecosystem to Nikon back in the day for the exact same reasons that your correctly pointed out in your video. Of course the Canons were amazing and great and did the job really well however, the way the Nikons feel in the hand was something else. The build, the tactile feedback, their menu layout and ergonomics was on point. Their colour science was fantastic too. I still have a couple of basic Nikon bodies just for old times sake. I’ve now moved on to the Sony ecosystem as its more appropriate for what I do which is primarily motorsport and action and at the time of switching, Sony had the superior AF system as well as high fps. Having said that, the Sony never gives me that feel and sense of reliability that Nikons gave. The Nikons were built like a tank and was very confidence inspiring while working out there under various conditions. I have picked up a Nikon D850 many times at the store and chickened out as I couldn’t justify the purchase. I’m sure it will make it to my kit at some point. It’s probably the best and most satisfying modern camera ever built!
I still have my D850 and D500. I don’t think I’ll ever let them go. I’ve owned the D300s, D800,D810, D4, and D5. I’m waiting for the Z9 because I think Nikon Flagship cameras always have a different feel and color science. Thanks for taking us down the Nikon DSLR memory highway.
@AP Studios the Z9 is probably the first Nikon Mirrorless camera that I see is capable of outshining my D500. I'm hoping for a crop sensor version of the Z9 but if it doesn't come, I'll be happy with my D500 for some time to come. It was ahead of its time when it was released which has led to its longevity.
I loved this video, I have had many Nikon cameras over the past 8 years. The D850 was definitely my favorite. I recently retired it and gave it to a couple that couldn't afford a good camera. Afterward, I thought "Oh my God, I gave away the wrong camera" I have now replaced it with a x7 which I hope will be a good replace"
Is nobody going to mention the D750 I adore that camera, built to last like anything else from Nikon but it feels amazing works without a flaw and is quite cheap these days. I have used everything from the D700, D3, D3s, D5, D800e, D810, D500, D850 but I always love to come back to my D750. Love the feel it has and the color reproduction is incredible, I don’t think I'll ever sell that camera. I also have to mention the skin tones Nikon cameras produce, can't be matched by any other manufacturer period. Btw great video!
Yes, according to me D750 is a legendary camera. The dynamic range and low light capability, color tones still shocks mirrorless cameras. I will be keeping it as much as possible even If I upgrade.
D750 is a camera that you can take to anywhere for any photoshoot. Such a great camera with great results. Great low light performance and color production.
@krpradi my friend has two D750 cameras for sale with the battery grips and spare batteries and is struggling to sell them which is a shame. People must think because it is old it must be lacking in delivering top quality images but they are wrong.
I've used Nikon since 1983 and enjoyed every moment of it. You walked me through a long history. Enjoyed every bit of it. Currently using Nikon Z7 and Z6 II enjoying both...
Very Nice, felt nostalgic, A die hard Nikon fan since 1997, I had used FE2 Silver & Black Body, F3 with motor drive, FM2, FM10, F80, D70, D300, & now usingD 800 & D810. Before Nikon I had used Pentak K1000, Yashica, from 1987 to 1997. 👌👌👌
Excellent vid... to think that my first 'pro' digital camera, which I personally bought, was the Nikon D100 - highest MP at the time at 6MP! I used to shoot weddings on that thing and it never gave up... still have it someplace in a box! I bought that one in about 2000/21 or perhaps in 2002. Prior to that I used to shoot with D1 cameras and they were only about 2 or 3 MP! I have actually not taken shots on film since about 2000 for my professional work. Amazing really when I think about it! I used to be in the British Army and my trade was photography. They used to provide everything Nikon and we were some of the very first users of digital... great fun and it goes back to somewhere about 1995 when we started to be issued those cameras. Just before we got the Nikon D1 cameras, a few of us in my trade, actually had a Kodak (I forget the model) which used the Nikon F mount - it was something like 12 MP as I recall. Way before its time in fact and cost something in the +£25,000 mark! An absolute pile of carp it was and soon became redundant. You are quite correct that the D3, then the D850 really were moments in time - now the Z9 seems to be another D3 moment it would seem. As is usual, Nikon comes good in the end... whilst all else are about the scream, Nikon really is the cream. Time to sell the missus and buy a Z9 me thinketh!
The Nikon D7000 also deserves an honourable mention (you may not have bought one for your usage) but all the same, it was a game changer amongst erstwhile DX DSLRs.
I really, really enjoyed your story and video. I am an amateur photographer and started with a Pentax in the film days however my first DSLR was a Nikon D70 in early 2003 I believe. I really enjoyed “as you explain” the feel and layout of my Nikon DSLR’s. Being an amateur I haven’t owned as many cameras as you however my current camera is a Nikon D500 and I have owned a few others (all Nikon) over the years. You explain so accurately why I have stayed with Nikon. Their cameras just feel right to me and the layout is just so familiar each time I use a Nikon body. I am not a person who jumps from camera to camera or manufacturer to manufacturer on a whim or because of something being the latest or greatest. You explain the feelings around camera ownership so accurately and well. I stumbled across your video and really enjoyed it. I will continue to watch your videos in the future. There is something about Nikon cameras that have kept me with this brand. It is the feel of the camera and also the way Nikon produces and feels about their products that keep me coming back to them. Hard to explain but you do a great job.
Never used (and have no intention of using), a mirrorless camera. I have always liked large, heavy camera bodies. I had the D700 (with the vertical grip), which is legendary for its color rendition. Wouldn't be surprised if the D700 and grip weigh as much as a Pentax 67. Now, I have the D3s, which far exceeds my level of photography. Love everything about it.
Nice video. I've been shooting with Nikon cameras since the late 1970's. My first Nikon was an FM with motor drive. Then an F2AS in it's last year of production followed by an F3. Used those 2 the F3 and F2AS for a decade or more. Then sold them and got an N90 (F90 for the rest of the world) in the mid/late 90's. Shot with that Camera till 2006. Especially loved the matrix balanced fill flash with the SB25. Sold that off along with my lenses due to a medical issue and didn't pick up a SLR camera (film or digital) until recently when I finally got back on my feet financially and I bought an entire used D850 (7700 shots on it) system with various Lenses, Flashes, battery grip and other accessories. Could not be happier. What a Camera. To tell you the truth I wish I'd never sold that F2AS. The F3 was the workhorse the F2AS was my baby my first truly professional grade camera and was still in mint condition when I sold it. I hope the D850 will bring me as much enjoyment in my return to photography as did those old film Cameras.
My first was the FE in 1978, followed by the FE2, F-601 (we never became friends), F90 and F100. (I still have/use it) I’ve had the Coolpix 3100, 5200 and 7900. I have the Canon Powershot G7 and G16. My first and only DSLR was the D500.
Very reassuring and watching this excites me cause I've just ordered the D850. Recently got back into photography after not having the time to for a long time and loving it. I started with the D3100 as my first DSLR way back when...then upgraded to the D5600 and some better glass. Now I'm fully hooked and eagerly awaiting delivery of my new baby. Can't wait to try to shoot nature with my Tamron 150-600 G2 and see the detail I cat get out of it. Great vid. :)
Well capturing South Indian weddings for past 3 decades. Our Journey with Nikon started from Nikon Fm. Then, the digital era with Nikon D70s followed by Nikon Flagship Nikon D2x -> Nikon D90. The period of Full frame started with Nikon Df and now capturing with the beast NikonD850.
Thank you for this fine video. As a Nikon user since 1967 of course a nikon in my hands feels like home compared to any other camera I have used or tried. Also the large collection of nikon lenses i have acquired over the years and still use for there unique qualities are still compatible with all the M mount cameras. For all of the younger photographers out there that might be reading this, you should know that the newer lenses are not always better, but rather offer different qualities that are possible by new glass/lense technology.
The D3, D3s and D3x were all professional grade bodies. The difference between the D3s and D3x is that the D3s (12mp) was made as an all round professional camera.e.g. Sports, Events, Wildlife and Photojournalism. While the D3x has a larger sensor(24.5mp) and was directed at pro photogs that did more studio and landscape photography, which required producing larger prints.
Absolutely as a device the D3 hands down beats the rest for good autofocus, silky smooth shutter.. you can see and feel the quality.. I also have D800 and D850.. terrible shutters on those. I'm glad they moved to mirrorless though as it is a natural progression
Natural progression? Nothing wrong with the DSLR shutters that we have noticed, we use both of the cameras mentioned and they are solid and reliable. Love em! @@mjames978
Radha sir, my first camera was 850 and when i hold it i felt like a wow moments and that time i fan of nikon...its accuracy, easy to use and colour science that is amezing. At persent i hv lots of nikon camera but still my favourite is nikon d850. I feel this 850 and if i closed my eyes after then i take pictures from it...thanks a lot for nikon love.
I will always be around as your fan for the same reason how you are explaining to us so passionately about the experiences you had with your cameras in this video. Also if at all possible I would also love to know the challenges you faced as a photographer in your life. Ofcourse there are always those bumpy roads we come across in life. Like all of us you also have crossed those roads and got to be where you are today and we can certainly say, you're one of the best virtual mentors to have. Which is all the more reason why incur and want to fill my curiosity as to what kind of adversity you faced while working as a photographer. Thanks Radha and Pixel Viilage team for your endless contribution to the photography community. -Peace and love from Maldives :)
I completely agree with you: I have the same feeling with my Nikon f2-n since 1992 and now the D5300 since 2018. There are better cameras: maybe but I'd be worried to have it under the rain when I'm shooting rugby. A full frame would be great but would require a lens double of the size and I shoot free hand. The perfect camera is the one gives you just everything you need and the feeling at the same time because we're not just business people, we shoot for passion and love too. Thank you for your videos, you're always great to follow!
I remember like it was today, I bought my d850 as a result of your review and it really is the best dslr ever made. I eventually moved to canon over time and honestly miss some aspects of nikon. I hope that with the launch of z9 the nikon takes another step in the right direction.
I'm 68 and have been a photographer for 50 years. My three favorite cameras of all time are the Canon F1, the Nikon D300 (my absolute favorite DSLR) and my Linhof 617s Technorama. I love cameras and these are my favorites.
I could not agree more! Know of, but Not familiar with the Linhof. I always wanted to own the Canon, but it was out of my price range back in the day. I have a D300 still, and have to agree with you. Nikon had their ‘MoJo’ back then, and I feel they slowly lost it. NO other camera felt like the D300 in my hands, not even the D500, which I also own. I still use it and shoot it, for pleasure only. Great comment! Take care and happy shooting!
@@milesian1 Really now? Curious. I’m not about to tell someone what they feel or don’t feel is wrong, but you might want to revisit that? Your comment seems to be a bit on the defensive side? Notice both of my comments, and the fact I did not say anything against the D700. I own both, and I can tell you there IS a difference. Two different cameras. The grip on the D300 is much better. Like I said in my comment, it is about the best feeling grip I’ve ever come across. After getting used to my new D500 now, I venture to say it IS better than the D300. Not saying the D700 has a poor grip, but it is NOT the same. My fingers have less room on my D700, than on the D300. My fingers feel cramped, when wrapped around the grip and have no space between ends of fingers and the body. And I keep a battery grip attached to the D700. This is a very subjective thing, and everyone will have their own opinion, and how they relate to a particular camera. Of course, YMMV. Peace
@@georgedavall9449 Notice that I said they feel the same "to me" and I didn't take your comment as slagging the D700 in any way. In fact, it was a compliment to the D700 based on your praise for the feel of the D300. At any rate, glad you're happy with your Nikons. I have seven Nikon DSLRs (two D700s, D600, D500, D300S, D850, and D3S), a Z6, and countless film Nikons. Some are better than others, but I appreciate all of them. In fact, I'm about to sell my D3S and acquire a D4 or D4S.
@@milesian1 Good to hear back from you, and yes, I did read what you said, and it was phrased a bit different. I try and choose my wording carefully, as it is so easy to offend someone, without intending to. And It was not my intention to with you, and I appreciate you explaining it to me. Wow, you ARE a Nikon person, for sure! Quite a collection you have! I’m not the least bit jealous! 🙄😁😂. Hope you find a good used D4/s! It is a fine camera. I’ve been looking at a few, with like 3 million shutter clicks. Yes, I’m exaggerating here. Out of curiosity, any faves out of all your bodies? I wish you well, and Happy Shooting? Take care.
Thanks for sharing your experience & comments...yes I agree with your comments as I just love Nikon gear.. After my Nikon film camera I purchased a D70s which I still enjoy using then I purchased D7100 which I love to use...my last model is D500 which I absolutely enjoy using as per your comments...I am only a hobbyist at 78 yrs old I have not considered upgrading to mirrorless as yet... again thanks for sharing... cheers from Australia 😀
I have the F5,F6,N80, FM, F100, D300s, D700, D4s, D810, D7100/7200, D3300, and Z50. The D700 and D4s are so much fun to shoot with regarding feel and confidence.
I've used nikon since film days. My first nikon dslr was the D600. It still shoots tack sharp images at mega sizes! It never was good in low light. I still like this camera I shoot now with D780, it's awesome. I was going to get the 850 but it is a bit heavier and I wanted to use a heavy 70-200 lens. After seeing your video I may need to the 850. Also thinking about the mirrorless.
If you have d780, you don't need d850. All you'll get Is more mega pixels and slightly better ovf auto focus for sports but d780 had better live view auto focus. They aren't far apart. Save money for z9 rather
I started my journey 2yrs ago with Nikon D5300 i still own it... I think tht was the best decision as far as being a beginner. Since then i hve used many nikon dslr D-750, 810, Z6. My dream is to become like u sir & understand the core concept of photography.
First Dslr was a D50 8x12 prints no sweat ,next was the D300s which served me well for 5 years, next was mint D700 1237 clicks when aquired, Its a great camera which i still use along with the D4 mirrorless isnt in my future at the present time
Those are some fantastic photos, what a great photographer who captures the moment. I love these Pixal Village videos. Such a nice man as well. I have the D4 and D800e… love em both . The D850 and d500 will be my next purchases.
Best Nikon DSLRs and no mention of D700? By far this is one of Nikon's greatest. Have shot with many of Nikon's but none has the soulfulness of the D700. Yes, it has the same 12.1 mp sensor as in D3 but the way the images are processed in D700 are different. The Color, the Contrast, The grains are simply amazing.
I still own and use my Nikon FE2 and F5. I shoot digital Nikons too but film is like waiting for a present. I started in Digital with the D1X then the D200 (still have both converted to Infared sensor). I currently shoot the D800E and D500. I have rented the D850 and love it and I am waiting to see if they come out with a new model before deciding to either get it or the Z9.
Your list matches mine really well! * F5 (I had the N90S for 1/3 the price) * D3S (I had the D700 for 1/2 the price) * D850 (Only the lockdown slowed it down) ? Z9 (the Z7II + grip is really nice, and the Z9 seems to be "no compromises") Almost 30 years of photography epicness!
Very good sum up of your DSLRs, thank you. I'm only an amateur but I use an old D3s and I really enjoy using that old beast. It rains a lot in my town Bergen Norway, but this camera is suited for "rainy" shots, so to say. It's waterproof and handles the rain well, yes my only concern are my old lenses. I don't need the new and fast ones for my photography so the old gear suites me were well, taking only one shot at the time! But yes, I'd like a D850 and hopefully the release of the Z9 now will make many professional photographers to change from the D850 to the Z system. That will benefit amateurs like me! Thank's again! :)
I love you passion, I too like the feel and sound of the Nikon exactly as you do. I have had the N8008, D70,.D200, D7000 and just bought the D850 last month and Love it! Thanks for confirming my D850 love! Before Nikon I had a Minolta SRT-201, XE-7 in the 70s/80s that I learned on.
As a Canon user, I can say, the Nikon D850 is the best camera ever made by any manufacturer... Love the feel of pressing the capture button n the images comes from it is absolutely mind blowing!!!
So nice to finally watch you talking about your personal photography journey ! Agree with you on your preference of Nikon cameras. Feel proud to be using Nikon D850, coincidentally it's your most loved camera too!
@@pranjalsharma479 If this question is to me....then answer is-NO...I am extremely satisfied and happy with D850 and no intentions of switching to Z 7ii.
I can absolutly agree the feeling to use DSLRs from the past. One of my favorite is the D2x, it fits perfect in my hand. today i own some other lovley bodys like d1, d2h, d2x, d300s, d700 and the lovley d850. 🙃
D3s, D3x, and D850 are my favorite. I'm still using D3s & D3x and making money with them! They both produce the most satisfying colours and skin tones with very little adjustment in camera raw! ❤️
It was only last year that I moved to nikon.. I was Sony shooter till then.. I will never go back sony again.. the color science is so much better.. the in hand feel.. the build quality.. and sharpness of the new Z mount lenses are just amazing.. I honestly hope Nikon keeps making more and more cameras in the coming years..
My first Nikon DSLR was the D80 which I still own, replaced that with a D7100 (still own that too), then moved from DX to FX with a D750, a great camera, still have this, recently moved to mirrorless with a Z7ii which I love 😁
Similar journey for me. D80 until I wore out the shutter, D7100 which I love and still use, and upgraded 2 years ago to D780. I have not yet moved to mirrorless. I want to see what Z6III or Z8 bring.
Ahhh I’m soo happy you have the marvellous Nikon D850! I bought this camera a free months ago in July 2023. I love it. Everything about it is incredible. I’m proud to own it and take it out for photographers to observe! I’ve had many Nikons in the past, starting with the coolpix series. Then came the D90, D7500, Z6 ( I sold that one - I can’t keep them all!) a Z50, a sfc in blue! and D850! I have a Sony A7111 which in like too. But I have a thing about Nikon.
Guruji I still have my first SLR FM-2 then added FM-10 and then F-610 automatic was added to the kitty eventuality moving to Canon DSLR for better low noise imagery. Will share some pics of the cameras
Nice video, thanks. I,m also using Nikon for decades, starting with FTn, FM, FE, Nikkormat, F2, FE2, FM2, F90, F301, F801, FA, F3, F3T HP, F4s, F5, D60, D2X, D3, D750, D810, D850 which I use today. Always with Nikkor lenses. I agree D850 is incredible camera and I intend to keep it together with 14-24/2,8 and 35/1,4. This year I will buy Z9 with some lenses as I'm back to photography again (after running a bussiness). Regards from EU - Slovenia
Hello, again Rad last time I spoke to you I was thinking of getting the Nikon D850 well finally I have purchased one brand new from E-infinity, what an amazing camera it is the colours are truly amazing in fact everything about this camera is really amazing could not be happier such a wonderful camera.
Great video! Thank you so much for sharing your experience and thoughts. I myself had moved on to the Nikon’s Z system and after so many years I just lost that passion for photography. Had a nice system but I really missed my old Nikons. So I sold all my Z gear and bought a brand new D850! I love that camera and my old F mount lenses! I will never part from them again!
My First DSLR was D5100, upgraded to D7200, recently bought a D500 (which was my dream camera since it's launched) happy to see someone whose as 'upset' as me with the mirrorless outbreak🤣 Anyway... I also don't understand lightweight cameras... I use both my bodies with grips and handhold my 200-500... I really don't understand smaller bodies... I feel with weight, the bodies loose ergonomics also...
I agree with your every word. I prefer the larger camera, they just feel so comfortable in the hand and you are totally correct about the ergonomics. I started off similar to you, D5000, D7100 & D500. I still use the D7100 but the D500 comes out to play 95% of the time.
@@Gazzab6 There is some truth in saying that weight helps camera stability. But today's DSLRs have really pushed the weight limits. Using D7000, D7100, D610, D500 bodies with a 70-300 mm lens over the 14 years wound up giving a painful case of both tennis and golfer's elbow. Using my D700 with a 24-120 mm zoom has made it worse. When I see folks hand holding long lenses like 500 and 600s I say to myself, "I hope they have durable tendons!" Back when I first began using SLRs a pro level Nikon Photomic FTN probably weighed less than half what the D7000 weighs and if you put one of them on one of a seasaw and a D700 on the other the pro level Photomic FTN would be catapulted high into the air!
Hi, and welcome far Nikon fan. Me like you, love all my Nikon cameras. I am an old timer photographer, begining with my first Nikon in 1969. Seriously consider the Z8 series when they arrive. Rent one for a weekend and switching to Mirrorless is quite a psychological and artistic shift. However, the "silent" feature has become essential in modern "No extra sound permitted!" Venues. Raymond

Ah, back in the days of photographing Ballet, Theatre, and Opera 1974-77 in the Boston, Chicago, and NYC areas of the U.S.A. with my trusty F2AS and the "red diodes" that helped me out with perfect exposures and focus from a pitch dark sound proofed lighting booths at the largest venues

Excellent sensor in that one. Same hardware of a D7200. Same sensor. Same quality photos.
@@greyowl750 D7200 you can old and new lenses with, so little bonus
Sir, even D90 and D700 cameras were the best in their time, thanks for taking back in time
I'm 65 and after many years with Nikon I've simplified my photography with a Nikon Df and a 50mm 1.2 AIS lens. Now I'm a photographer!
I'd love to get the Df...but have the D700 and D2H already...😄😄😄I'm a M43 shooter mainly though
The Nikon 50mm f1. 2 is a beauty. I want to buy a Nikon D850
Nice, but I also have that lens and I’d suggest f2 is the first “sharp” aperture?
If I make it to 65, I’ll switch to a Ricoh GR camera.
Jst give me one 🤪
“I still have “don’t apply to new cameras like d850 and d500.
I still have and use professionally my D700 does justice to the phrase
@AP Studios the Z9 is probably the first Nikon Mirrorless camera that I see is capable of outshining my D500. I'm hoping for a crop sensor version of the Z9 but if it doesn't come, I'll be happy with my D500 for some time to come. It was ahead of its time when it was released which has led to its longevity.
Nikon all the way !! Started with D40 through 300s the 7000 and 610,750 will stick with D500 and D850 for a long time now 😊👍.
Indeed! Great comment!
😀👍
My D750 Still impresive even in 2023, the D700's are awesome.
Yes same! D750 is my favorite portrait/landscape DSLR
@krpradi my friend has two D750 cameras for sale with the battery grips and spare batteries and is struggling to sell them which is a shame. People must think because it is old it must be lacking in delivering top quality images but they are wrong.
@@Gazzab6 i believe it wasnt because of old or lacking, must be due to the pandemic i believe. it's D750,
Nikon D5200 with Kit lens and a 50mm f1.8! 10 years old and still breaking hearts!
I've used Nikon since 1983 and enjoyed every moment of it. You walked me through a long history. Enjoyed every bit of it. Currently using Nikon Z7 and Z6 II enjoying both...
Proud owner of D-500 amazing it is especially for Wildlife photography. Love the discussions
Loved the FE & FE2 😍
Such a calming reasoned presence you have, this was a joy to watch, and yes D850,a work of art.
He’s one of the best, knowledgeable, well spoken and genuinely loves photography.
i am canon guy and feel exactly the same way with those cameras. your voice is sounding really good
I’m agree with your experience, I’m still happy with my full frame Nikon D700 !
Just purchased my nikon D850 last week. This video came out at the perfect time for me :) great video guys. Keep it coming !
I have recently bought a D700 as I'm just starting out. I fancy a DSLR that will do video....you have given me lots of food for thought !!!
The Nikon D7000 also deserves an honourable mention (you may not have bought one for your usage) but all the same, it was a game changer amongst erstwhile DX DSLRs.
Best APS-C sensor ever imho. If only Nikon didn't mess up on the AF module.
Agreed
I earlier had a combination with d5000 and 300 prime and now got a d500... Still going smooth..
Thank you ... Happy to read your feedback. A new video on D500 is under production! 😀🙏👍
You will probably marry a large heavy body too. 😂
True! The lens adaptability is one point I missed mentioning! Thank you for bringing that up. 🙏👍
Love em! @@mjames978
Great informative video. I have the D500 with the 500mm PF - what an awesome combo. The D500 shoots at 10FPS with or without the battery grip.
It's all about "feel" and I must say Pixel Village and Nikon never fails to disappoint us.
Your videos are really inspirational, now I think that I too need to display my Nikon's, many of them. Something near to my heart.
Great video and discussion on the old Nikon bodies. I have the D500 and never will replace it.
Yes, the D850 will go down as the best DSLR Nikon ever made, period! 20-30 years down the road, this body can hold it's own. It's a jack of all trades
Very little competition for the best DSLR *anybody* ever made.
What about D810??
Great video for a Nikon lovers and shooters. Thank you Mr. RK.
A proud owner of Nikon D850. 😊 My upgrades: D7000 ➡️ D810 ➡️ D850
Cheers
Bought my first camera Nikon D850 few months back by seeing your review on it sir, and i dont regret i bought.. 🙂🙂

Currently have D700 & D850, & I think they are going to stay with me forever. It was very difficult for me to part away with my N90.
Loved this review thanks for sharing. Still love my D70, the camera that got me into the DSLR world.
I love my D3s and my D3. Such great cameras and fun to hold and shoot with. Thank you!
I remember like it was today, I bought my d850 as a result of your review and it really is the best dslr ever made. I eventually moved to canon over time and honestly miss some aspects of nikon. I hope that with the launch of z9 the nikon takes another step in the right direction.
D850 is a new camera..I remember like it was today applies to a D3 not to a D850
My first camera Was a D5300, I’ve just bought a D800 which I can’t wait to start using
I'm 68 and have been a photographer for 50 years.
@@georgedavall9449 The D700 feels exactly the same as the D300 to me. I own both.
Thank you Sir... for your comments. Appreciate! 🙏🙏🙏
To be or not to be......... Nikon! Thank you so much for your style and experience sir.

The D850 and d500 will be my next purchases.
nikon d 850 is enough for next 10 years for a real Photogrpher. Thanks for such a great Video, It would be a farewell for DSLRs in Pixel willage lol.
Agreed
Yes i have tried most of them but after holding D700 and taking pictures with D700 OMG its magic.
After watching this video I cleaned my Nikon D90 are years for a small fun shoot.. feeling nostalgic
😀👍
Well done video. Thanks for letting your authentic passion show.
My d850 is my daily camera. I love it . I shoot in CH because I bracket three exposures for every shot.
Thank you sir I just bought the D 850 2 weeks back ☺️😁
Your list matches mine really well!
* F5 (I had the N90S for 1/3 the price)
* D3S (I had the D700 for 1/2 the price)
* D850 (Only the lockdown slowed it down)
? Z9 (the Z7II + grip is really nice, and the Z9 seems to be "no compromises")
Almost 30 years of photography epicness!
😀👌👍
I only have five Nikon bodies with me right now, the F2A + MD (my first camera) & FE2 purchased over four decades ago, D3 & D300 from 2007 and a Z6.
Nikon is my pride.Nikon 7200 user..now z6 2 ❣️
Thak u for such an in depth review of Nikon D 850. Would like you to throw some light on its predecessor Nikon D750 which I own at the moment.
I love my nikon d750 been using it since 2014.. my first full frame nikon dslr :) so it i have lots of memories with that camera model
As a Canon user, I can say, the Nikon D850 is the best camera ever made by any manufacturer... Love the feel of pressing the capture button n the images comes from it is absolutely mind blowing!!!
I love it. I own a D700 and a D800 yet to lay my hand on my new purchase D850 to feel the love you share. Thanks very much I love NIKON
So nice to finally watch you talking about your personal photography journey ! Agree with you on your preference of Nikon cameras. Feel proud to be using Nikon D850, coincidentally it's your most loved camera too!
Did you switch to the Z7 ?
D850's mirrorless Son
I have Nikon D850 (Besides Z6, D7500) , And also had D750, But D850 stole my heart & will remain my favorite , Now waiting for Z9
Great video and thank you for sharing your love for Nikon!
Thanks for this great video - been a Nikon shooter for ≈ 35 yrs - can't imagine using anything else - roll on Z9!
The inner child emotions for the fav toy...😄
That's pretty much everything Nikon has produced! 😀 Wish you a great time with your cameras... 👍
🤩👍🙌
good job 👍
Greatly enjoyed this video. ❤️ More on your favourite F mount lenses please. 🙏
My First DSLR was D5100, upgraded to D7200, recently bought a D500 (which was my dream camera since it's launched) happy to see someone whose as 'upset' as me with the mirrorless outbreak🤣
Anyway...
When I see folks hand holding long lenses like 500 and 600s I say to myself, "I hope they have durable tendons!" Back when I first began using SLRs a pro level Nikon Photomic FTN probably weighed less than half what the D7000 weighs and if you put one of them on one of a seasaw and a D700 on the other the pro level Photomic FTN would be catapulted high into the air!
thank you for the video and waiting for the next video on Nikon D500
Hi, and welcome far Nikon fan. Me like you, love all my Nikon cameras. I am an old timer photographer, begining with my first Nikon in 1969. Never sold any one from analogue Nikon f, f2, f3, to Nikon D70, D200, D300s, D810 and D850. All of they with out any función problem. Looking forward at My 78 year aniversary I am hesiting bethween a D5 or wait for a future Z8 miroless cameras. My Best regards from the chilean patagonia..
Happy to read this message... señor 🙏
Seriously consider the Z8 series when they arrive. Rent one for a weekend and switching to Mirrorless is quite a psychological and artistic shift. However, the "silent" feature has become essential in modern "No extra sound permitted!" Venues. Raymond
Amazing pictures!!
I ddnt have the luxury of owning an SLR till late 90s. But my first dslr was a Nikon ( apsc). Still i ddnt have the luxury of full frames or medium formats. But now have the luxury of watching PIXEL VILLAGE😍. I still remember your name as a major Nikon mentor and always advertised as that in many workshops. But to my surprise , review of new nikon cameras never came in your channel. ( did i miss those, i dont know)
Sir absolutely nostalgic feeling you brought with this video for dedicated for Nikon :
My first Nikon film camera was Nikon F3 .
My first digital Nikon camera was I brought in 2000 1 jan .
Nikon D1X .5.6 megapixel
My 2nd Nikon digital camera was after 8 years I brought
D3 in 2008 mid of August.
Then D 7000/ D4 / last D800 .
I am still shooting with D 800 and
Only today I shot in studio with products on D3 along
With 50 mm 1.4 .
D3 is 13 megapixel . Which is still enough I am constantly
Repeating wit my colleagues and students …
Thank you so much for such wonderful memories to mesmerised.
Unfortunately, my comment earlier today seems to have disappeared along with your reply (which I was notified of by email but never got the chance to see) - it was the comment extolling the virtues of the D3X for its film-like, cinematic image quality. Anyways, it appears you got it and I'm glad for that. Great video !
Yes... I remember replying! But I also cannot find it now!!!
i tell you this. this d850 have the most pleasing colors i have ewer used in a camera. something special abut it . currently have the z72 and Nikon dropped the balls on these cameras really outdated af system i will be selling it ad returning to dslr. plus the small factor feel like a toy. the fact the lenses are still big it makes no sense .. i enjoyed your video a lot.. cheers my good sir.
Love from Uganda 🇺🇬

D500 and D850 owner since launch, brilliant. now sadly to go, I pre-pre ordered a Z9 today so every thing has to go except my 500 pf. Had the Z6 but traded it in for the 500 pf. Will greatly miss the D500 and D850 when gone, but time and technology move on.
WONDERFUL video- I am a NIKON NUT!!! (both film and digital)
Please do make same video about your all time favourite Nikkor F mount lenses..
Thank you so much for reviving my old camera memories. Appreciate your kind words on Nikon. Till date I have my Best F2AS, Ft3 Nikkormat, FE.....
Love F2AS's built like a tank
Ah, back in the days of photographing Ballet, Theatre, and Opera 1974-77 in the Boston, Chicago, and NYC areas of the U.S.A. with my trusty F2AS and the "red diodes" that helped me out with perfect exposures and focus from a pitch dark sound proofed lighting booths at the largest venues
There was no way around it when everything needing to be silent. When my eyes started giving out, along came digital/AE/AF so I switched to the D700/D800/D810, and the D850😍😍😍! I now use the D850 and experimenting with the Z50. Z9 is next. OBTW: I still have all my digital cameras. Just couldn't sell them. I gave a very good friend my F2As as a birthday gift with motor drive and 250film Back. He says he will it back to me when he passes on. I just can't bring myself to sell any of my "Nikon Babies." I loan them out or give them away, but never sell them. I don't regret it for one moment. I pull one or two of them out when I need just the right photograph that only we can produce. I love it that way. Raymond
You sir are one real and passionate photographer. Respects to you for this amazing insight to your favourite cameras and also your philosophy and great sense of humour and grace.
