I didn't watch it happen to my wife when my son was born, but when I held my son and looked over at her while they were stuffing her organs back inside her and sewing her up i got a glimpse ill never forget. I still have flashes of empathy pains for her. I feel so bad she had to go through this for us. She's amazing. To take a lawsuit out on the hospital is insane.
@@baumeister5705 No not actually. Unless your anatomy is different then normal. Doesn’t really matter how you’re cut. Transverse is the main incision style with classical being a rare second. The uterus sits on top.
Hospitals can’t legally force you to watch. My dad peeked over at my mom at the operating table when she had her C-section, she had her intestines laid out to the side and although it looked horrible, it was my dad’s choice. In this case, encouraging is not forcing. Like my dad, it was the man’s choice, it’s not like the hospital controlled his mind.
I did the same thing when my wife now ex wife, was giving birth to our first child. I didn't see intestines, but I saw a layer of fat and her lower abdomen pulled open. I found it fascinating but that is just me. I chose to look over the curtain.
Sometimes Charlie amazes me with just how basic of a man he is... Dude you can't understand how seeing the organs of your wife night be a little off putting and might hinder your relationship? Everyone you go to have sex with her you just see her gutted body...
This guy is such a turd. I was right next to my partner when she gave birth and I saw things, smelled things, and heard things I have never heard before and never really want to see again. It wasn't a c-section, but still, seeing the amnionic sack come out was ... shocking. But I was there for her and my newborn child, which made the whole thing worth it. The fact that this guy is making such a fuss over this just tells me he's got a lot of issues to begin with, perhaps including being a narcissist.
To his credit, i can understand someone being traumatized by seeing their wife's guts as she's cut open. But asking for a billion dollars ruined every once of a shred of credibility he could've had.
I was going to guess that this was a scam the parents were doing to get money But given the fact they actually got divorced 3 years later, it means this guy was ACTUALLY that delusional
You gotta know how hurt offended insecure and embarrassed that mother must have felt IF she doesn't still feel like that. @@puke-jd6lm I don't think it was the birthing itself as much as seeing the intestines and organs that have to be removed for a C-section. I'm a woman but I could empathise with the trauma of seeing a loved ones insides (more so if you were of some lack of understanding that they would have to be removed for said process - which let's be honest plently of men have no idea where stuff sits inside a woman like say, a uterus being under other organs) and that potentially haunting you as intrusive thoughts for those with less than strong stomachs. Doesn't mean this lawsuit isn't frivulous and an attempt at getting free money of course, just saying that it is possible to have genuine issues arise from seeing organs especially a loved ones. Some people simply can't cope with that kind of imagery(cue the vomiting lots of people do when seeing organs or gore for example) have that in no way reflects on the other party giving birth or being pregnant and shouldn't be judged as horrible for having an unintended reaction they can't control. The sueing by someone traumatise (IF it had been genuine and if the hospital staff had forced him) would be understandable as it had long lasting life altering consequences.

From my understanding many doctors are very well practiced in making sure you can be where you're comfortable being in the operating room, even with a c-section, if mama wants you in there with her. Not nearly as traumatizing as pulling the plug, they make it sound like its as simple as pulling the plug and the person passing peacefully. No... its not its worse and more traumatic than it sounds. It depends on the life support their on and the person but for my mother it took hours. When the Ventilator was out she continued to breath and fight back, but all we could do is watch the vitals which would cruelly give us false hope. Even if by a miracle of god her kidney's began to function again, the cancer was all over her body. We couldn't save her, and we couldn't speed up the process, we just stared at her face which was disfigured from the ventilator and held her hand. It was cruel and I hope I never need to feel that level of despair again.
for anyone wondering, since I don't think it was said in the video: A C-Section is when the mother can't give birth normally, so she has to undergo surgery that slices her torso wide open. One big clean cut from right to left, and the doctor temporarily re-arranges the placement of some organs to make room for the baby to be manually removed from the mother's body. It is honestly a horrific sight to behold. But it will never result in winning half a billion dollars in court over damages to mental health.
I'm just imagining an alternate version of this scenario where a dude claims a medical facility "encouraged or permitted" him to stay by the bedside of a dying relative in their final moments, him willingly doing so, and then suing because witnessing their death caused him psychotic illness
@@tweenytwinkies It's psychological trauma. It's common for people to receive therapy if they have witnessed someone die in a car crash. Dude when I was doing clinicals for EMT school I saw 2 vaginal births, one with no epidural, and a c section. During the c section the drs each grabbed a side and leaned back and stretched the lady open. It was wild. Nowhere near as bad as the no epidural one though. That will give you an entire new respect for women and the process of labor.
Not to say this lawsuit had any legs to stand on but hospital staff can be weirdly pushy about certain things sometimes. Perhaps the trauma of seeing it is understandable, bit the decision to sue afterwards isn't. I feel like if you're an adult in a first world country actively trying to have kids, you probably already have an understanding of what a c-section would entail

Exactly. My dad was there for both births, and though he passed out during my brother's because of his issue with blood, he still did his best to support our mother and he certainly didn't blame anyone or try to SUE of all things.
I would imagine C section is easyer to watch. I watched and helped on 3 births. There was tears, piss, shit and blood every time and after I got myself clean I went help with birth.

Interesting thing about C-Sections, part of the reason they are so common has nothing to do with the difficulty of birth for the mother. Instead Doctor's will often push for C-Sections because they can schedule them, and they usually take a clearly defined period of time, which allows for Doctor's to more reliably plan out deliveries. Of course a good number are due to medical need, but a growing number are due to expediency. And once you've had one, you're discouraged from ever giving birth naturally because the scar tissue makes it more dangerous.
There really needs to be some sort of threshold on lawsuits, like at least a confirmation that the lawsuit is within reason. All this does is waste everybody's time.
Here’s a funny story super relatable to this: My fiancé was pregnant, and she had to have an emergency C-section after pushing for about 3 hours. They rushed us out to the hall, and they took her into a room while leaving me outside. They told me to wait and put scrubs on, and this was after being up for 48hrs + as well as running on adrenaline. Anyways, they tell me she is prepped and allow me to come in. I sat next to her while she was uncontrollably shaking. There was a curtain in front of us hanging from the ceiling all the way down to my fiancé’s stomach (blocking the view from the operation). The Dr. said, “Alright you’re gonna feel some tugs”. After they pulled our son out, they walked him over to the cleaning station. Well, once they asked me if I wanted to assist with him, I got up to help. For reference, the cleaning station is to the left and in front of where I was sitting with my fiance during the operation. I got up, and thought to myself, “They definitely have a curtain hanging parallel to the bed that would block my view of the operation from the cleaning station”. So I turned around while walking over to the cleaning station to give my fiancé a reassuring look, and I turn around to see her insides. Now, I have no idea what I saw, but I swear I thought I saw some muscle and maybe organs? I know the scar is tiny, but wow they really open you up way more than you would assume. Anyways, they handed me my son, and I sat down looking at him with the image of my fiancé’s open bottom portion of her torso still in my head. I kept telling myself to hold it together and not throw up. I was fine, but then my fiancé said, “I think I’m gonna throw up”. And that’s what got me. The fact that I knew her body was still cut open exposing some of her insides with the mix of running off of no sleep and a shit ton of adrenaline, my sleep deprived brain instantly went to the though of, “Oh my God.. due to her still being cut open, if she throws up, all of her organs will explode due to the pressure throwing up causes near the abdomen.” So I need the a nurse to hold our son for a second, but I ended up not throwing up. In the end, super crazy experience, and even though it was “gross”, it was magic, beautiful and a period of time I will never, ever forget.
this shit really makes me think i'm not cut out to be a father sometimes. i feel emotions way too intensely to cope with that, honestly. just reading this gave me cold sweats lol.
As a person who's disgusted and scared to fucking death of pregnancy and birth, I felt my stomach turn a bit from your comment lol (Still, congrats to you, your wife, and your son)
Lmao I Literally did this too. When I was walking over to grab my daughter and cut the cord I peeked around the curtain and had the widest eyes ever. The nurse was like "you looked, didn't you? We told you not to!". So after that I asked what I saw and they said probably kidneys and her liver, and lots of various fluids 😂
i don't think her organs would explode from that. if that was an actual possibility i don't think doctors would risk having the person be awake and able to easily throw up. maybe im wrong, but it just doesn't make sense to me at all.
C-sections are wild. Sometimes, they have to physically pull out some of the intestines so they can see the uterus. Guess where they put them? Yup, right on top of mom's outsides. As someone who's had a c-section, I'm very glad I couldn't see anything.
I watched my wife right as they were finishing her C-section and I saw her guts out, didn’t phase me at all. Now I can say I truly know her inside and out

He also demanded $500 billion from Microsoft, using basically the identical legal “theory” as he did with Google. That is, he “amended” the Xbox contract, sent it to Microsoft, telling the company that if it didn’t cancel his account it meant it had agreed to the contract. When his account wasn’t canceled he demanded arbitration over a random issue, pointing to the clauses in his amended contract, including a promise to respond to arbitration requests in 24 hours. Microsoft, of course, did not. Once again, he pointed to the clause in his contract that “claimed” such a forfeit means an automatic victory in arbitration at an amount declared by Stebbins. My dad actually started to watch my moms c section but ended up instantly deciding against it when he saw how bad it was but I I couldn’t imagine him trying to sue the hospital for that lmaoo
I imagine seeing your wife getting a c-section can probably be hard, but it kinda sounds like he was looking to blame someone for why his marriage fell apart.
I watched my daughter come out C section. Pretty much most of the surgery I watched. They did it with her awake and a sheet shielding her vision of the process. I was sitting near her head on one side and could easily see over the blocking curtain. You definitely don't forget some things. But I choose to be there. They offered me nausea medication if I wanted it. To me, it's my choice and I appreciate having the opportunity to be there. It didn't bother me much, but the smell is what I had a hard time with. The smell of burning skin. It's a Strange thing to experience but I think it was worth it to me.
I hope that lawsuit goes through. Oh the hospital one? No no, the wife’s suit for custody of their new kid while she finds a man who doesn’t feel violated when she’s being cut open
Well, I wouldn't blame the guy for being traumatized after seeing his wife basically get gutted alive, but also he could just have said that he didn't want to see the c section, instead of going to the operation room, seeing the procedure, and then file a whole ass lawsuit.
Meanwhile, the doctor asked my dad if he wanted to leave while my mom was having a c-section. My dad refused multiple times, even after being sprayed by blood at one point.
I really like how Charlie doesn’t try to click bait with some outlandish title or thumb nail it’s refreshing to see a creator relying on the quality of his content rather than stupid click bait
I kind of feel like there is more to the story, news outlets and companies especially like to blur the lines in some instances to try and paint themselves in a better light than what really happened. Similar to what happened with the McDonald's coffee incident in which a lot of facts were either changed or omitted initially, which led to heavy ridicule against the poor lady that was injured. In which she still faces ridicule to this day, so while I can see how silly and frivolous this lawsuit can be, it also could be a case of there's a lot more to the story that's being left out or changed on purpose. Just food for thought when it comes to these cases, you don't always know the full story.
I'm a student nurse and watched CS operation and I know as a man it's a horrifying process. After I saw for the first time a CS, I can't handle it. I feel numbness all over my body, can't think straight, can't move normally which is kinda normal for me o any other guy to watch it for the first time of their life. Lawsuit is so dumb to think that it is necessary because I think they have this consent or something that tells them if they want to watch or be with their wife in the operation or not.
you can tell Charlie has never witnessed the miracle of childbirth or a c section where they cut a human being open with a knife and pull out another living creature screaming and covered in blood.
Ex-nurse here. Birth isn’t really a miraculous, beautiful affair; it’s dirty, and bloody, and stressful, not to mention dangerous. (Though ideally it’s also miraculous and beautiful for the parents to experience their child being born). A c-section that wasn’t planned can be worse. Some women feel like they “didn’t do it the right way”. If as a husband you get deeply traumatised by the sight of a bit of blood, while your wife literally gets sliced open to make sure she and the baby survive, you’re not ready to be a husband or a father.
“Did you hear about the man suing a hospital for 643 million dollars after watching his wife’s C-Section and said it gave him a psychotic illness” Charlie, furiously clicking keyboard: “…you got my attention”
So, about the C-sections: the doctor that saw my mom through her first and second pregnancies insisted to her on both that she needed a C-section, and she refused on both occasions. I was the first born and everything was fine. My brother was a big baby, and the doctor insisted mom needed a C-section because he was "sitting upright" in the womb. My mom rejected the operation and gave birth naturally: my brother was upside down, not upright, and though he was pretty big and it was painful, everything was fine. Her third child was also birthed naturally, under the supervision of a different doctor. At least in the US, there's a good chance the C-sections were actually unnecessary but folks were scared into having one
I’m a mom and 40% of my mom friends have had C sections. I even had to have an emergency surgery two weeks after my son. Before this procedure, women would die of septic shock among countless other complications. I’m not sure why humans haven’t evolved a more efficient method of giving birth. This dude is the real baby in this story. Lol. Glad the lawsuit failed.
The woman went thru pain and he fr was like omg I saw blood I’m OUT. 🤦♂️ I wish he did more proactive research before going raw lmao, like how else will the kid get out.
@@tweenytwinkies yep! I think this could be a case of narcissistic abuse against his wife. “I’m going to sue the hospital for millions of dollars for the pain and suffering YOU went through, but I’ll be a millionaire and you’ll get nothing!” That’s just speculation but wouldn’t surprise me if that’s his reasoning. My mom friends have always had their husbands with them during a C - section. Never heard of a man complaining about that. I have heard of men passing out during regular childbirth though lol.
@@tweenytwinkies proactive research can only prepare you so much to see the love of your life and mother of your child cut open, bleeding, with her guts spilling out.
If you're interested in knowing why humans haven't "evolved" to give birth more efficiently, (which is a weird question if you know how evolution really works) I'll do my best to explain it. Ancient humans that would have too narrow of a birth canal to give birth would have effectively just died, preventing their genes from passing on. It's only because of advancements in medical science allowing for C-sections that such individuals are now able to safely deliver children. But this means that their children would likely inherit their narrower birth canals and would also require C-sections to give birth without dying. In fact, we're seeing a rise in the rates for C-sections because of that. From a humanity standpoint, it's great that childbirth is now more accessible for more would-be mothers than ever before. From an evolutionary standpoint however, this is horrible! 😅 The last thing you want for a species are individuals who are quite literally unable to procreate effectively without intervention. But this was just a side effect of our improvements in medical science. If however you are wondering how we could "evolve" our species to not require C-sections, it's pretty much walking on the lines of Eugenics. (Which needless to be said, is a VERY horrible idea) Either women who have birth canals that are "unfit for childbirth" would either have to be barred from reproducing or sterilized outright. (Which of course is violation of human rights, which includes the right to reproduce) Alternatively, you could outlaw or ban the whole technology that make C-sections possible. (Which is basically as equally horrifying) Either way, the problem would resolve itself within a couple of or maybe more generations once only women who have "fit" birth canals are allowed to reproduce, and those who don't die out. But yes, I would much rather keep the current system we have going than to ever go through that whole thought process again. 😥
C-sections are mostly done because the hospital believes the birth is taking “too long”. Hospital births are usually gruesome because they try to make it go as fast as possible.
They probably didn’t explain to him what he would be watching, they probably didn’t tell him what they were going to do and why, when allowing somebody who isn’t a medical professional to watch something like that, there should be somebody there to explain it step by step.

I mean, i would definitely think it would be hard to watch your wife get her stomach open, let alone see like their insides or anything. But its not like the hospital strapped him down to a chair holding his eyelids to look at the process. He chose to be there, saw something he regretted, and then sued for an outlandish price and ruin a relationship bc of it
outlandish price, absolutely. but hosptial staff are notoriously pushy and disrespectful when it comes to births; i could easily believe that he was pressured to watch.
C-sections almost always invovle a curtain hung up to block the view from the patient and any person near the top half of her body. It would be cruel and unusual otherwise to subject someone to not having any kind of obstruction from seeing themselves cut open while awake. The only way it could be a factor is if the man purposely looked over the barrier curtain.

5:02 Not completely true. I mean, there obviously is some truth there.. but there's also a problem with doctors pushing c sections onto their patients. There's a large spike of c sections done right before the weekend, and a lack of births on holidays nowadays. In other words, some doctors are suggesting c sections not for the health of the mother, but for their own convenience.
Lol. No, you wouldn’t be a bad person, it actually means you are smarter than this guy. I’ve had a c-section but honestly idk if I could handle seeing one. If she is awake they put up a big sterile sheet so the she doesn’t have to see her own organs being taken out and all the blood. So if this ever happens in your life just stay on the same side of the sheet as her head and hold her hand. They won’t remove the sheet until she is stitched up. Just tell them you are not ok with the sight of blood and you do not want to cut the cord.

Not to say this lawsuit had any legs to stand on but hospital staff can be weirdly pushy about certain things sometimes.

That's the decision that judges make and then often throw the dumbest ones out pre-trial
That's what pretrial hearing is for. A judge is going to toss this out and probably should censure the lawyer who is dumb enought to file it.

Anthro major here: developing the ability to walk upright compromised pelvic size and width, and that’s why birth is so traumatic for humans. Evolutionarily, walking upright was worth the compromise.

We’re also born earlier than than we used to be so our heads can actually fit through our pelvic bone. And it’s still so painful.
Also, the fact that we CAN perform C-sections -- something that's only possible due to our increased brain size, and something that's only necessary because of our increased brain size -- is pretty amazing.

When his account wasn’t canceled he demanded arbitration over a random issue, pointing to the clauses in his amended contract, including a promise to respond to arbitration requests in 24 hours. Microsoft, of course, did not. Once again, he pointed to the clause in his contract that “claimed” such a forfeit means an automatic victory in arbitration at an amount declared by Stebbins. the bots are so annoying damn
Charlie’s constant baiting of Billy Mitchell will never get old
you can tell Charlie has never witnessed the miracle of childbirth or a c section where they cut a human being open with a knife and pull out another living creature screaming and covered in blood.
Wow, with that money he'll just about cover the cost of the ambulance ride!
“Did you hear about the man suing a hospital for 643 million dollars after watching his wife’s C-Section and said it gave him a psychotic illness”
Charlie, furiously clicking keyboard: “…you got my attention”
Yeah that's not happening here in Australia. There's no financial incentive for the hospital to perform one, unlike in the USA.
Evolution doesn't work this way. It's nog efficient or linear
C-sections are mostly done because the hospital believes the birth is taking “too long”. Hospital births are usually gruesome because they try to make it go as fast as possible.
That sounds dangerous
Imagine suing a hospital for 1 bilion AU for his wife giving birth to his own child
The scariest thing about this is the fact this man has a wife and child. I hope they are ok..
EDIT: Oh they broke up, that's good.
They probably didn’t explain to him what he would be watching, they probably didn’t tell him what they were going to do and why, when allowing somebody who isn’t a medical professional to watch something like that, there should be somebody there to explain it step by step.
exactly, not black and white. i hate how reactionary this comment section is.
@@DumplingDoodlethe comment section often blindly agrees with Charlie even when he has either L takes or just didn't see the context/ isn't knowledgeable on what hes talking about
@@DumplingDoodleI agree with you on this point, but SUING the hospital for a billion dollars is a bit of a stretch, isn't it? Also, they suggested him for it. He could've simply said no. C sections are gore filled, its SO obvious. Yet he allowed himself to watch it, even if he wasn't being forced.
7:13 yall remember when the Joker got pregnant and vomited out a brown goo that then turned into a mini Joker? Thats what it reminded me of. What a wild comic
The funny thing about this is given their divorce settlement she might also be entitled to a portion of that money, or it would greatly increase spousal/child support, not sure if it works the same way in Australia as it does the UK
maybe it was all an elaborate ploy to get his ex wife child support 🤔
I would love to hear what his wife has to say about all this
@@aribasquezO the woman never gets to see themselves being cut open. There's a shield up to prevent that. He saw something that she never saw. She also wouldn't have felt anything because they completely numb the area where she gets cut open.
From the woman's perspective, they just lay on a table & then a baby appears. There's no pain & they don't witness any gore.
@@aribasquezO that is not how surgery works. you don't feel it as it's happening, unless you have localized aneathesia, in which case you still don't feel pain. how the actual fuck are people getting LESS educated as time goes by when we literally have the entirety of recorded human knowledge in our pockets???
@@john_hunter_ They feel the pressure and their organs being moved then have to recover from a serious surgery.
@@DumplingDoodle I didn't really know they were liked that, I've never been in a hospital besides when I was like 4 and when I was there for my sister's birth (tho waited in the lobby so didn't know how the staff was). So if the staff were like that then I would understand why the guy would be upset, but I don't remember if it was stated like that

When my little one was born(it was via C-Section) The doctor had a little rubber “shield/tent” he was working under he looked at me and said. “So you mind the site of Blood?” And I answered,”As long as it isn’t mine.” Cut the cord, held my purple cone head baby(she got over both those quick) Sueing seems a bit much unless he was hurt severely. Which, even in America, isn’t billions.
Keep up the great work and Love ya Char Char.
The lawsuit is laughable, but I too would be scarred to see a c-section performed. I get queasy thinking about it, will probably pass out if my wife and I have kids 😂
Could pass out in a worse place than a hospital room surrounded by medical personnel, tbf
I mean c-sections are usually seen as a last resort if vaginal delivery isn't an option or there is complications.
@@fatcat22able good point, I know it happens frequently enough
@@imapotato7391 very true, but I will probably pass out regardless.
@@YourMostFavoriteNPC yeah, it’s why death during childbirth was more common in the past. Most ppl don’t even seem to acknowledge it. Back then they probably didn’t have meds to help even slightly with the pain too.
How fucking sick and twisted of those doctors, should have their licenses revoked.
Charlie is such an practical creator to be subscribed to, its truly amazing.
The beginning sounded more like, “cmon billy, sue me I dare you”
Personally, I could see myself fainting at the sight of something like that. Would I be a bad person for waiting outside the room?
Not at all. Everyone's needs are important.
Another commenter said that while he watched his wife's surgery the doctors offered him nausea medication lol
It is literally a surgery where they take out organs alongside the baby, you're totally fine
Your wife has to go through it. If you can't put your own feelings aside to be there for the person you claim to love God help your poor kid smh

You're absolutely right but this guy is explaining that in all the wrong ways. It's crazy , but he's just making it about himself when he could've easily closed his eyes
My mom claims she awake for her third C-section with my little sister. It didn't freak her out, I guess. Everyone is different lol
This is (one of the reasons why) I'll never have kids. I would genuinely feel guilty about putting someone through that.

My nurses told my SO to NOT look that they would be pulling out my uterus. And that he probably didn’t want to see that! They also had a big piece of cloth up vertical on my chest to block off the view between my face and the rest of my body during the procedure. My SO sat in a chair right next to me and we kept looking at each other cause if I remember correctly there were also curtains up on both sides of me as well to block the view.
The nurses did joke and kept saying oh why don’t you wanna look?? You’ll really get to know her inside and out!
