I wish Yamaha made a cheaper / simpler version (without Alexa, AirPlay, alarm clock and all the other useless features), which would be great to use as rear surround speakers for home cinema.
Yes, they are also rubbish sound quality too. I just returned a pair to amazon as these ‘wireless’ speakers have no battery capability and must be plugged into the mains power to work. Bafflingly useless!
@@roberthart5686To be honest, did you even read what you purchased? These are primarily to be used as rear speakers WIRELESS with a Yamaha AV Receiver as the main controlling base like the Rx-V6A. That’ll give you a superior Dolby Atmos experience when watching movies or series or sports games. So you do not need to lay cables across your living room to connect the rear loudspeakers! You can have additional devices throughout your home, all controlled via your AV Receiver. As stand alone also, and they are powered by a cord. Nowhere, literally nowhere, is it mentioned that these are batteries powered! I am rather gobsmacked by such an uninformed comment!
Yes, in the musiccast app you can modify the highs, mids and lows, plus there is also a bass booster which gives that extra thump if you are into that.
Does it support streaming of FM/DAB+ radio? From one MusicCast Yamaha component (say an AV or a Stereo Receiver) to MusicCast 20? I'm not talking about internet radio! Some radio stations I listen to do not have an online stream, or the stream is of very low bitrate/quality.
Hello Paul, you are able to do this if your unit comes with multiple zones to be enabled. For further assistance, please reach one of our techs at 888-228-5800. Thank you!
hi, I do have R-N803D - I would like to buy two of these to my kitchen. Question is if I will be able to stream music from my inputs of N803 to kitchen zone in MusicCast?
these music cast speakers need a powersocked because they do not have a batt. every time you want to put them somewhere else you have to have a powersocked near by. and tan you have to set the speaker up all over. more conviened to use a bluethooth speaker from top end class.
@@pengasus I found another way. You just set them up through the MusicCast app as a stereo pair and then just connect through Bluetooth and it works somewhat fine.
Sure the hardware is good but not so the software to run it. I have had the Yamaha Musiccast system for almost a year and it's buggy. Also, they don't offer Google Play Music nor UA-cam Music as a streaming service. This is insane. One of the most widely used music services in the world and it isn't included in the app. I'm a huge fan of all Yamaha products (from motorcycles, to instruments and audio) however, I am really disappointed in Musiccast.
The speaker is REALLY good. But the MusicCast app usability is at best very average. 🤔 And the configuration part is simply terrible, either overly complicated or confusing, with settings distributed all over. 😱

I have just bought a pair and waiting for delivery. So excited!
Is it much difference i've you buy the external subwoofer 100 for musiccast? I have a wx-10 and 20 musiccast and Yas-207 from Yamaha
If I want 2 of these for rear speakers, I would need to run power cords to both of them?

hello, nice review .. can I install up to 24 music cast speakers ? an dhow many can I play at once ?
What about tone control? Is it possible to adjust the bass?

Hi, great review. But on a side note - please, please tell me where can I buy these 2 paintings at 2:09? Cheers
You can pick them up daily at your local Kindergarten.
Can I use my echo dot in my bedroom to pair with the soundbar and yamaha 20s for a multiform music player?
Thanks
Wireless? Is it working without the cable? Is the cable the charger?
@westamusic6222 This speaker needs to be plugged into a power source to work. It does not have a built in battery.

Can I use this to "mirror" the main 3 speakers so people in another room can hear a program that's on the TV? Assume that I have a Yamaha receiver.

Yes you will. You wrote this 6 months ago so hopefully you have figured it out. Lol. If not, yes, this can be done :-)
The top looks like it has several small long scratches on it. I'm wondering how this is going to age, particuarly for the price being paid.
Why does it have so many scratches ?
Nice work... Do you know how loud it is... ballpark? (sensitivity/spl)
Can i combo it with my 106 soundbar?
No.
What about a Yamaha Yas 209?
link and use of dedicated buttons 12 & 3 would be useful not a bad intro...but incomplete...
Can I combo it with music cast 400 soundbar
Yes

does it have a remote?
GRAA no
Your phone is your remote. Download the app.
So if I had two of these could I run them in stereo connected to a windows PC?
You need. a musiccast amp but you can

I have the WX-030, is it worth upgrading to WX-021?
From my own research, the WX-021 is way better
Try the B&O s3 speakers and let me know when your mouth closes again how they sound.

Soundtest in a Video to "see" how it sounds? That's the dumbest thing I have seen all year.
How do they expect this to sound different than the speakers I'm listening to the video on?
Why does it say wireless if it needs to be plugged in ? lol
sonos much better
From sound quality or app?
