Thanks bro. You just made this hot night in SoCal much more comfortable. First time I drive an international, I’m normally in a freightliner which I know good and well how to operate.
Thank you. My truck has it, but it never works. I wake up mid sleep sweating because it never starts. I just idle all the time in the bunk. Now, I'm in a newer truck while mine is being worked on. Same thing. It must be me, I thought. Obviously not. This video confirms it.
That's interesting it didn't work on the newer truck, but it makes sense because another international I drove didn't work. I think it's how it's programmed.
@@AncientSword79 I'm new to the APU scene. The only interruption I've had is, turn the truck off and within a few seconds hit and hold the auto start. That's it. Adjust air to desired comfort level. Truck never started. So, I've told the safety people what's going on and, that I'm just going to idle. They took my truck in to get that sorted out. Meanwhile, there's a guy out having surgery, so they gave me his truck. It's newer then mine. Today was my first day with it. It's an automatic. Still wrapping my head around this. 🤔 Gary, I do want to say, thank you for not dragging it out like some of the videos on here. It's perfect. Sorry and to the point. This old dude appreciated that.
Im not sure then bro. It might not have the capability, or just look for another video that doesn't have the button. I saw one video that showed the shut off feature installed by the company on the driver's side mirror.
@@derrickbonner9321 yes it protects the battery I believe, and runs other functions of the truck. It only works once though and has to be reset once used.
With both brakes set and in neutral while engine is running, push yellow (tractor) brake in, press the cruise control button that says on (on left side of steering wheel), next press and hold "set" while simultaneously pulling yellow parking brake out, then release, the dash will say "Engine throttle"...Enjoy 😊
@@AncientSword79 yes sir. Had to get the shop to fix it at the old pumpkin patch. It’s a common problem with our whole fleet of these new trucks the 2021-22

I need more of these. I can’t find much on international I just started and I’ve only been in freightliners. Now my permanent truck is a international

My light comes on… problem is the truck never starts!!
Would you recommend this while home on reset in cold temps to save batteries?
No, it only works once.
You don’t have to cycle it. You can turn the key on and off instantly and hit the button and it comes on.
Thanks!
Nice thank you
Thanks bro
Did it same as you but my a/c not cooling in this mode
So if my truck doesn't have that button, am I screwed?
I'm not sure 100% but I will say yes. I think it only works with a newer Internationals.
@@AncientSword79, Mine is a 2020 Int. LT

So with this feature will it run the inverter and start the truck when the battery gets low??

I have that same truck tried it out did not work for me
Did you follow all the steps? It should work if it stays solid green..
Any idea how to keep International from idle shutdown.?
No that's set by the company.
