Great video - Thanks for posting. Probably the best KLX wheelie video I've seen. I just bought a 2014 KLX 250 S and plan to put your advice into practice. Thanks again.
i am thinking to buy it too.. um.. is it good supermoto? i want it for the city only .. and does it have kick starter? and the S model is for street ? or what:p
just acquired a klx 250 through trade...bone stock i can rock wheelies all day.....you dont need to jet your bike and buy an exhaust to do wheelies people.....yes, you will gain power with those mods...but by no means is it impossible or even hard for that matter...just have to know what your doing
on the klx would you recommend getting a full exhaust system or just a slip on. is there any point getting a full system. was thinking of just getting a slip on fmf powercore 4. Thanks :)
cool video man very informative and here update 2013 klx250s i did the stage2 dynojet jet kit ,extended t-handle fuel screw, uni 2stage air filter , and DG o series exhaust and man is it a difference its a whole new n different bike it came Alive has 150% more power n sounds mean as fck my brother has a hard time keeping up with my lite ass on the jump top end different story n he rides a ktm950sm that is awesome b4 it was like a moped compared to it n now klx is a beast
i have a 125 main jet, i have adjusted the fuel screw, and the needle, and when i put it in first roll at about 2500 rpm, then i rev it out to about 5000-5500, then as i let the clutch out i jerk the bike up and back, and I am lucky if i get the front wheel off the ground.... wtf am i doing wrong
more power after u jet and rip the old pipe off and replace it with a better one with out a cat converter. cat converters are like sticking a wine work in the end of your exhaust and running your bike. really takes alot of power away.
NBF .Soldier KLX 250 or the Honda CRF 250L would be perfect. Of course you could also go 600 or 1000 ccm right from the start. Its not hard to learn riding a big bike. But you need to have common sense. When you got so much horsepowers it is very tempting to go fast, but when you dont have much experience or common sense, that can get you killed pretty quick. Of course that also depends on where you are going to ride and what you want to use the bike for. But in general you cant go wrong with a dual purpose bike. They are so light and handy and a 250 can be reasonably fast. Just never drive a bigger bike or you will instantly want one.
Well, it isn't rockin wheelies if you got to feather clutch and give it a handfull. Or, you could just say that any bike can "throw good wheelies" because with enough clutch, any bike will (as long as it has a clutch)
I got a 09 sf with stage 2 jet kit two bro slip on removed snorkel and it barley pops up in first with just clutch and throttle, my rm 85 L wheelies way better
I wish my klx had enough torque to throttle wheelie. I have lower than stock gearing and have to really push down on the front end ti get the front wheel to come up
The ability to wheelie should basically be a requirement for these types of bikes.
You have no idea how much I needed to hear the walk through.
Hey john,,
great wheelie video ,,I'm trying to learn,,
you explained it better than a lot of people ,,thanks bro,,LIKED ( thumbs up ) SUBSCRIBED
Replace scratched plastics on a dirtbike? Nonsense.....
ikr, i can't image a scratch ruining the experience or even the price. Its a dirtbike, do I gotta wash it now?

Alex Mills is your fuel injected?
Most IMPORTANT thing when doing a wheelie is covering the rear brake, if you're about to loop it the rear brake will save your ass
Can you do another video on how to brake down stoppies on a KLX250.
Is your bike on stock gearing? What all mods are done when video posted? Thanks
all stock gearing. stage 2 jet kit powerbomb header and fmf i cant remember exhaust with a uni air filter i think it was a q 4 or somthing tail pipe
got th eklx 250s with 15/37 gears....for highway use....so i had to learn to change gears from 1-2-3 to get a wheelie going nicely
what type of exhaust you have on yours? I have a 07' Klx 250s. looking for something that opens the bike up without DTP!
Man BX heyy I have the exact same bike....
What exhaust you got on there?
lol ill admit im crazy about my mototcycles they have to be perfect. i cant help it.

I didn’t even know you could pull it up, my klx250 barely makes it up hills idk if I can get it up
Great video, I can clutch up my xr250l in first now, still working on second gear! Thanks for your time
Hey thanks man for putting that video up. Helped out a lot!
is the 1st gear wheelie possible with my unmodified klx250s?? thanks...
I need some new friends, none of them ride :(
i have the same problem bro.. i just ride alone
+deathstroke - Same..
Me too, looks like its a common problem.
iw ould ride with you if you were in CO
My friends ride but my family doesnt let me xD
What kinda rpms are you getting up to when you clutch it up?
ive done it before but its difficult and I feel that the bike needs to be revved too high and tears up the clutch
What oil do you use
i have a 125 main jet, i have adjusted the fuel screw, and the needle, and when i put it in first roll at about 2500 rpm, then i rev it out to about 5000-5500, then as i let the clutch out i jerk the bike up and back, and I am lucky if i get the front wheel off the ground.... wtf am i doing wrong
what pipe are you running.
+john ping fmf power core 4 with mega bomb header
+Ben Tripp try it In first for awhile then move to Second it's possible even 3rd because I've done it.
john ping that's the problem I'm doing it in first, i tried today and have made a little progress but still i am still having a lot of trouble
+Ben Tripp it takes a while have patience
Awesome vid! liked and subed! what exhaust is that? sounds incredible
Josh Halterman your mom
nice job. good demeanor too
Great video of your technique it's going to help me out big time 👍🏻
hey john why does it have to be jetted tail piped and no car converter for it to work??
more power after u jet and rip the old pipe off and replace it with a better one with out a cat converter. cat converters are like sticking a wine work in the end of your exhaust and running your bike. really takes alot of power away.
but doesn't that affect your insurance rate ??
did not do anything to mine... they even know i have the upgrades most riders change things on their bikes insurance companys know that
What rear sproket was installed on KLX?
Arturas Sapalas Probably dropped down to a 13T or maybe 12T front sprocket
hey does the rear tooth sprocket matter?
i have a 2008DRZ 400E
unless you have like a huge change in the sprocket a Drz400 should easily be able to do a wheelie
Is the engine able to keep oil pressure during a 12 o clock wheelie?
i dont think i ever had an issue. im sure the oil pick up is waayyy at the back.
what is a good beginner bike for first time riders?
125cc
You have some experience ( judging by your profile pic) I'd go with a klx 250s dual sport or a ninja 300 sport bike and maybe a suzuki drz400s
kind of what i was thinking. klx 250 was my first choice because i see alot of people driving them in videos.
Get a DRZ 400sm

What mods are you running?
How much throttle do I give it before I dump the clutch I’m 150-160 lbs on a klx250
if your asking that question u need to ride more before u figure this out. its not a math equation its a need to feel it out problem.
I think I’m pretty Decent in trails and on the track but at what rpm should the bike be
Keepin it wheel bro!! Nice vid
Nice dude thanks I️ was worried this bike couldn’t handle or throw good wheelies. You confirmed it
Well, it isn't rockin wheelies if you got to feather clutch and give it a handfull. Or, you could just say that any bike can "throw good wheelies" because with enough clutch, any bike will (as long as it has a clutch)
Is that a stock pipe? It sounds nice
Is this stock gearing?
sorry but theirs no need to do a clutch up wheelie, means you have in propper form a
Got a 200cc sumo and I'm able to get it up no problem no mods haven't tried in 2nd yet
Is it possibly with a derbi senda 50cc?
yeah dude i own one and it's sure possible :D
no problem glad to do it.
Why does it need to b jetted in order to do this??
stock does not seem to have the power to do this on the fly like i do in this video. you may be able to if your really rev it and do a clutch dump.
Its ok for enduro to have scratches.
Does anyone know if a kx250f front sprocket wil fit on a 2012 kl 250
there two completely different bikes i would say no but you could always look up the part numbers. why would you want to do this?
john ping i live in south Africa and can't find a klx 13t sprocket for shit even the kawasaki store did not even have a klx 250 on there system
great video thanks bro
I got a 09 sf with stage 2 jet kit two bro slip on removed snorkel and it barley pops up in first with just clutch and throttle, my rm 85 L wheelies way better
I can wheelie ok now, it's a lot harder when u don't weigh a lot
Я незнаю английский,но я понял как делать wheelie/I don’t know English, but I figured out how to make a wheelie...
Thanks for that vid, well done.
Trying both tomorrow
fmf Q4 sound?? sorry,i am japanese.
so simple i like it
a stock 250 wheelies just fine
RPMs?
Jakarta Motorcycle Diaries KLX around 5k
Where is the wheelies?
Nice
dope bro!
Sorry to rant but just watched a vid about a guy doing wheelies on a 50 no problems
I have a 2008 yamaha xt 250 and I can wheelie easy
helpful
im too fat for wheelies
nope..all stock will work..dont need all these mods
Im not trying to be a dick but no way. show me a video of a stock klx250s or sf doing a clutch up wheelie in 2nd gear.
+john ping sorry, i meant on 1st gear.no offense
@@urbandualsport my 09 250s will pop second bone stock?. 5-5.5k and just sit back a bit further don't even need to pull back,
look how long vid is
Flori P illuminati confirmed
If I'm being honest I was taught to wheelie with no clutch when I had a clutch on a 100 sit on the back and use you jody and throttle no clutch
I wish my klx had enough torque to throttle wheelie. I have lower than stock gearing and have to really push down on the front end ti get the front wheel to come up
