- Until Cartoon Network hit its stride, Nickelodeon was the king of children's programming and the king of creative station IDs. Here's over 15 minutes of bumpers, shorts, stop-motion, globe-trotting, and more variations on a four-word theme than you ever thought possible!
Quick note: this is everything I had on my hard drive. If you wanna know why I didn't include a particular bumper you remember, it's because it's not in my collection. If I track down enough for a part 2 I'll do it!
Nickelodeon had so much creativity!
I was born in 2001 so I didn't grow up with these, but still feel a warm and fuzzy nostalgia from seeing these!
Yes that's the same feeling watching these ads and bumpers. I remember watching them back in the 90s. The nostalgia is heavy. Even the commercials and ads from the early 2000s I can appreciate now but there's nothing like the 90s.
I enjoyed these classic commercials. They brought me good memories. Especially inside-out-boy. I loved the old Nickelodeon shows and commercials.

To those who say these bumper campaigns were creepy, trippy & or drug induced. Let me explain what the concept is here, this is a kids network "nick is kids". They wanted to make the network look like kids (at least kids of the 90's) made it, off the wall, bizarre, bright, colorful etc. The old logo was designed to shapeshift for this reason, like putty in a kids hands. I'd say they pulled it off & I wouldn't be surprised if they looked to kids for inspiration with some bumpers. I think it's awesome & the network sorely lacks this level of creativity, variety & life it had from the 90's to about 2008.
For some reason the one bumper commercial at 8:40 was scary to me as a kid. Just the figures seemed really creepy.

That’s how I felt about the one starting at 9:17. I’d have to leave the room. One time I tried running up to my moms room when I came on and I tripped and fell on our landing before the stairs. 😢
