VIDEO INFO:
So, here it is. An actual Rock Band song, translated to drums, so to speak.
The way I set this up was to let the song play out on practice mode, not hitting anything, and muting the drums in the options. (That's why the notechart shows me missing all the notes.) Then, i just spliced the audio together.
Yes, the cymbals need to be loosened, however, the set was used when we bought it: the previous owners did not take care of it, and thus if you loosen it, sometimes the entire cymbal pops off. this is also why the drumset sounds like crap. The china cymbal was broken because of a neighbor abusing the set, as was my hi-hat pedal.
I probably won't make any more real drums videos for a while after this, solely because the computer i'm using to watch the video clips of the notes on lags severely, causing the video to skip sporadically: The video lag in this one was really bad, thus there's a few parts where i definitely go off time thanks to this.
Once I setup something alternate to watch the notes on, i'll make more of these.
Also, I wasn't angry: was just tired and the light was hitting me right in the face. - Розваги
Awesome video, as always.
great job on here 2! nice video again!
Once again amazing azurite =)
I like these videos, great job!
Thanks a ton for posting this. I played bass and based on the fun of RB, bought a drum kit to play with. I was doing the same thing as you are here, but this gives me another guide on what the kit should sound like. That helps a lot.
I enjoy these videos, very nice work.
Awesome job!
So cool! I just started my drum tour in Rock Band and was wondering how I could transfer my progress to real drums. You just gave me a great idea!
hey dude u are really good at the drums in my opinion. Ive watched all of them and well i personally like them.
Solid
Very Nice vid, Gratz on it ..

Just wanted to let you know that you've done a great job on them all.

This is really awesome. -sigh- I need to get some drum lessons...I love the drums...
Then again, I love all instruments!
exactly
yeah, the light was right in my face
yes
the song looks pretty easy... in rock band drum, great job!
Stellar job, dude! Hey, I got a request: Do a real drum transcription video of Hysteria - that's quite the fan favorite, and a badass song to boot!
woah. nice
this is cool
blinded by fear.........GO!
great song, easy on drums.
thats the whole point
i like this one. particularily cuz i like the song.
a little emotion wouldn't hurt.
sounds like he enjoys that alot
@watsdatcraponurface i don't have to. i'm looking at it to try and transcribe it back to a drum kit.
you are good at drums
on this song, the green is both the crash and floor tom in different parts.
Yeah, that would be cool.
green notes are played on the ride, crash, and floor tom at different points in songs on rock band.
fun video, I'd like to see more, but only if you see fit. Keep em coming!
holy shit ur playing my favorite song
the green and blue pads are ride and crash cymbals but they are also toms so rockband was telling him to hit the tom at that point
good job
It just looks like that because he's staring at the screen while playing, so he doesn't lose his place in the song. It's actually pretty hard to stay in time when you're actually playing a song on ANY instrument (I used to play in a high school jazz band a few years ago, on trombone), I can't imagine how hard it is on drums, which is very crucial in keeping the rest of the band from losing their time, along with Bass. They are rhythm based instruments, after all.
He's played drums for like 6 years. But I agree. I play rockband because it gives me a lot of practice and it's fun with friends.
i play with so much emotion im emotionless im like upper teeth over bottom lip and hitting the drums
a light was pretty much directly in my face in this video, so that's why i was squinting.
22 years old, actually
nice. i did this when i got the real drums. it really helped because while i played rock band, i wanted to throw in a lot of fills with my playing, but the game wouldn't let me.
youre my best friend
No problem, bud. People need to read simple descriptions and use some common sense. But, unfortunately, even when they do that, they seem to find a way to say something stupid.
I'm not a huge rhythm game guy, but Rock Band's great. Unfortunately, I'm horrible at the game (I've only had a chance to play it once), however, you're damn good at it, and the "Real" series of videos you produce are pretty unique.
Keep up the good work. Your videos are definitely worth watching.
posted on my b-day
nice
RED NOTES: Used for Snare and clossed hi-hat
YELLOW NOTES: Hi-Hat, left tom
BLUE NOTES: Ride, Right tom, Crash/Ride bell
GREEN NOTES: Crash, Floor Tom
same here :)
excellent; i have only just bought rock band and this is the only song i can nail so far. you make it look so easy. i love watching your videos i have learn't from them. the other duce bags who are so critical should post themselves playing drums. keep the video coming we love them. you are excellent and cute as well. by the way i am female and a mum from Australia.
considering i've been playing real drums for five and a half years at this point, which is much longer than rock band's been out, yes.
its ekored777 again, when i have friends over and we play rock band i always show them your videos on you tube. you are absolutely fantastic. i love queen and muse. i love watching the guys play drums and guitar on their videos. you should try a few queen songs that would be excellent if you could.
That has a very good point. Although impromptu drummers, if their beats are very good, that show that he/she was a professional drummer that can improvise in many ways to play music without note charts
loving your videos mate, ignore the haters you're a good drummer. Respect for the left handness aswell. I myself am a left handed drummer, or was when i played the drums.
i use to have cancer, non-hodgkins lymphoma (aka alcl). i Ended up using my wish from make a wish foundation to get a drum set. It ended out to be a $4200 drum set. Two 22in sperate kick drums, 10in 12in toms, 16in floor tom, 20in ride, 2 18in crash, 8in splash. toms are d-drum and cymbols are sabian hand-hammered, they are awsom.
it can be either way.
ive been playing drums since i was 8 and im not 16, never once bought a real set just own it up in school whenever i get the chance. I'm unforunate enough to rarely get freestyle time to build up my skills, and im left handed forced to always play right handed and have been continuing. I truly believe rock band, especially with the new ion drum set, is a great way to learn drums. In my opinion, better than trying yourself. Teaching yourself ends in someone like brunswickfs32, a narrowminded hick
I like the way you think :)
FYI, the part with all of the greens, its not the floor tom, its the cymbal
what are you looking at a overhead projector thingy majigy? or is it the game in the back ground and you look at the notes to give a idea on what to hit???
could u plz cover through the fire and flames?
i think it well sound cool !!
btw you are a great drummer
dude.
1)i hope your friend canmake it.
2)you posted that today.he'll probably get to it tomorrow.
finally ,someone gets it lol
Plus you need to buy the electric drums if not already. (TD-20 drums are around 3k-5k depending on the seller and the kit) I have a TDW-20. Its the same as TD-20 except I bought an expansion back. ($400. It inclues lots of extra features) Oh and even then the RB+TD-20 thing, if you screw up.....Look forward to missing 3-5k.
ya ive been in remission for just over a year now.
im sorry to hear about your mom.
imagin if a big monster came out of that window and gobbled him up !
nice drum kit im trying to get a real drum kit so i can learn to play them
mostly i look static/angry because i'm exhausted from earlier workouts on things around the house, drums on rock band, etc.
that, and i'm trying to read the notes with a light shining right in my face.
haha full clench savoring blinkage for the win
oooh whee ohhh i look just like buddy holly!
You can see his leg moving.
Sounds like the real one.
i beg of you! pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaasssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee do ...and justice for all
he said in his description that his neighbors messed it up
uhh because i'm trying to time up what i'm doing to the notes?
because i used the notes on this run, does that mean that i need them entirely? because you turn your blinker on in a car to signal you're turning left, do you need to do that to turn left? no, you do it from force of habit, although you don't need to.
i look forward when i play the drums, force of habit.
