Love Angelina's version of course. Her voice is beautiful and unique and she has excellent control. Normally I would pick Angelina's vocals over anyone, but I have to say my favorite cover is Haley Reinhart's Creep. She also has incredible control and range and her voice is beautiful. She can go from a whisper to a roaring growl. Her cover is so creative.

with the possible exception of full blown opera, though I wouldn't
put that genre past her if that was what she decided to do, and create
something uniquely her own. When it's said she could sing the phone
book, it's easy to understand why. There are seemingly no limits in the
musical direction she decides to go in.

Agreed. I think that's my favorite as they sing in perfect harmony. I still watch/listen to that version frequently. I also so, so, so love Angelina Jordan. I truly believe she is a an Angel of music - sent here, at this time, to calm the world with her beautiful voice and originality of the various covers she performs. In God's time I believe she will "explode on the scene" and be one of the many exceptional singers of our time. 🌹🎀❤

Probably one of the most covered songs in the last 30 years and I have heard quite a few. Angelina's version is the slowest of those I have heard and it does help make it more emotional. Only 25 days until Angelina steps back on stage on June 22 in Norway, for the first time since late 2019 when she was on AGTTC.

I love this song. Everyone puts their own take on it. I appreciate all the versions I have heard, but for me the best are the ones that bring out the intense emotion of the song. I would love to see and hear a full version from Angelina. Maybe she will grace us with that. Thank you for another great analysis.
I always love these walks of yours to discover the history of modern music and to discover interpreters that I often did not know. Angelina is a beautiful key of reading of decades of mythical interpretations and I am amazed every time at how much she manages to stand out and shine with her own light even in the company of so many great singers, you inevitably recognize and love her, even in these improvised and stripped recordings. When Angelina covers a song she owns that song and I’m sorry everyone else Angelina has stolen it,she is so talented and her technical ability surpasses her years, Angelina is a musical genius, I cannot wait to see Angelina’s live concerts soon, I have my tickets, ready to go!

Agree, I'm a big fan of Angelina's singing, but 'Creep' is now and forever owned by Haley, and as much as I usually enjoy Alan's video, today I felt a bit disappointed when he cut her video way to soon... Also 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas' for me is better in Haley's version, but that's a matter of taste for sure, both are great singers with phenomenal voices, it's just a stylistic decision where to take the songs, and for these songs I prefer Haley's sassy, more aggressive take on them...
I like Prince's version better, a lot more raw. But I'm still a big fan of Haley's.
While this is not one of my favorite Angelina covers, there are always interesting aspects to anything that she produces. This is one I will have to listen to for a few times so that it can grow on my mind. Nevertheless, another fine show Alan and thank you for all the work you do in putting these educational videos together.

While I absolutely love Angelina Jordan, this is definitely not one of my favorite songs that she sings. I don't whether you've actually heard Haley Reinhart's version in FULL, but I sense a bias in your views.
There's no doubt in my mind (along with about 30-40 other reactors/vocal coaches) that Haley Reinhart's version (with PostModern Jukebox) is an all-time classic and probably the best COVER of any song ever sang !!
As much as I think of Angelina's greatness, I believe that Haley is the best female vocalist on the planet with her range and vocal effects !!!!

It's interesting to see all the other musicians. Not comparing, but just see how different one song can be performed. ''We will appreciate musicians as they are'' I like a lot of musicians, but Angelina is different. She is my favorite artist. I listen to her every day, and I can't say that about the other bands and musicians that I like. So she is special, a phenomenal singer and still very young. She will do great in the future. She is murdering every song she touches. Can't wait for some originals from her.

@@103mrg Yes, I has listened to all of those several times. Today only, I must have listened to all of those 3 or 4 times each. But she should create more originals. And as far as I know, she is working on it right now.
@@steinarhatlen2622 She has alluded to having some originals on her new album which is due anytime soon. She has also mentioned elsewhere that she has many of her own songs that she has written over the years. As a side note, though not probably originals, Ivan Mendez has said that there are probably at least 10 songs from their sessions that have never been published.

Should have put up the Paulina Villarreal version. Pau is the drummer of the Mexican hard rock band The Warning, and does the song on the piano recorded with a phone, so no tricks. I would put Pau in the same prodigy category as Angelina, she’s not only a monster drummer, but can be the lead singer at the same time, and writes killer songs. The other 2 members of The Warning are her sisters, to say a musical family is an understatement.

Currently Haley owns Creep. And on June 3rd she is dropping an EDM version. Can't wait.
I really like Angelina's take on this. Because there is no darkness in her heart, she portrayed a lighter version of creepiness, in the sense of strangeness, of being different from others. But you could here her focus more on the love part, the beauty, you can picture her showing love to her family, especially her little niece.
It's a very different take, there is some tenderness in her version.

When I realized the song was to be Radiohead's; 'Creep,' and the comparisons were to include the Haley Rienhart-PMJ version... I thought OKAY... Well here it is... AJ may finally have a rival to disprove the 'greatest' claims that she is showered with......
IMHO, there are two claims that can be made; certainly one for AJ, and another for HR-PMJ.

Angelina didn't just put so much more emotion and feeling into this song and make you again want to listen to every word, but she also look absolute stunning in this video. Her Mona Lisa smile at the end and that dark eyes is the "cherry on the cake".
