The yellow dot on the right was Lisa Kreutz, and she wasn't unconscious, but she felt lightheaded when she tried to leave, so she stayed there. She was rescued by SWAT at around 3:30, and was taken to a hospital, where she recovered
@@SarinGasAttack You have to give credit where it's due and respect Lisa Kreutz for her determination to survive despite being shot in the shoulder, arms and thigh. Lisa stayed as still as she could and steadied her breathing in order to slow down her heart rate and reduce blood loss. She also kept track of time by listening to the school's bells and wondering when or if anyone was coming to help her. She was also extremely terrified of the possibility that Eric and Dylan would return to the library and finish her off. Eventually, Lisa was rescued by paramedics and taken to Denver Health Medical Center. She underwent several hours worth of surgery and spent several weeks hospitalized. Despite this; Lisa stayed on top of her schoolwork while she was hospitalized and eventually graduated on time and with her friends.
I always thought Dylan and Eric shot themselves at the same time...so what this is saying is that Eric shot himself first and then Dylan walked over and shot himself after Eric died?
The only source that they killed themselves at the same time, Patti Nielson, said she only assumed they did, but didn't actually hear it. Evidence shows that Dylan landed on Eric's leg after Eric was already dead. A piece of Eric's brain was under some oil (from the molotov cocktail Dylan set down) on table 15, so the molotov exploded after Eric was already dead. That being said, there is a chance that they killed themselves at the same time. The molotov cocktail was on a fuse, so Dylan could've set it down, then they both killed themselves. Also, since Dylan had to fall down (he was on his knees at the time of his death), he could've still landed on Eric's leg. So, it's likely they didn't kill themselves at the same time, but there is still a chance. There's no eyewitness that remembers their suicides: Patrick Ireland was unconscious, and Lisa Kreutz lost a lot of blood and couldn't remember much in her witness statement. Nobody else was in the main library area at that time. I just decided to just have the most likely scenario, Eric killing himself before Dylan.
@@SarinGasAttack ah ok thank you. also, was it ever mentioned anywhere when Kelly Fleming moved over to table #2? None of the library survivors noticed her being there. You would think one of the girls under table #2 would have said an unknown girl came over and hid beside their table. I think I read somewhere that Kelly was hiding under table 4 for most of the time but once Dylan and Eric were shooting at Jon Tomlin she tried to sneak out from under her table to go join the girls in table #2 and that's when Eric saw her and shot her in the back.
Yeah, it's very strange how nobody remember Kelly after the shooting in the library starts. I did find that, in Lisa Kreutz's statement, she describes an unknown female crawling up to her, the lying her head down next to Lisa. Either Lisa was delirious from blood loss (which is a possibility), or it was actually Kelly. I actually never even thought that Kelly could've moved after the library shooting started, and it's very interesting. I always thought that she moved over there after Patti Nielson told everyone to take cover. She was, at least, lying down when she was shot, because the wound tract is near-horizontal.
The real-time timer isn't a bad idea, but I don't think I could have a "ticking" timer, just because the timescale of the animation is heavily stretched in certain areas. I could put a "timestamp" in the bottom corner where it says the span of time that a certain area takes place at. For example, I could put "11:29AM-11:36AM" for the events in the library.
This was a time when school and mass shootings were incredibly rare, in fact this was among the first to get widespread attention, in fact it was only after this shooting that police were trained for these attacks.
Cool! What about Patrick Ireland in end? He's after suicide Dylan and Eric's jumped out window. Im hope you not forgot? P. S:Sorry for my bad English((
It's okay :) Yeah, I did remember him, but I thought his escape didn't really fit because it was so long afterwards (almost 2 hours after their suicides).
Late response, but it was because I didn't account for anyone but "key" people-injuries, deaths, and library witnesses. To redo an animation with the scope of Columbine and near-complete accuracy would be very time consuming, but possible.
I know this is bad to say but with 2 shooters it could have been a lot for deadly. Thank god their plans didn’t work out. Still sad abt the people who died.

While he might have been in a different position before he was shot, that's the spot where his body was. I'll include him getting moved from where he might have been in the future.
I might do this again, but it might be hard to put the pictures somewhere if I'm doing a voiceover, because the entire screen will be dedicated to the animation.
Doesn't look like there's anyone in the school, save for the library and a couple people outside. Also, where is the green dot representing the resource officer?? Can't seem to see him anywhere. Where is he shooting from?
I didn't add every bystander because I didn't really want to. I could, but it'd be a lot of effort, and half the time the witness statements don't line up with what actually happened. The "dot" for the resource officer was off screen to the left, and I didn't really know how to integrate it without the first part being super zoomed out.
Thanks for taking the time to make this! I noticed there were two injured still in the library, when the killers returned. I assume one of them is Patrick Ireland. Any ideas and on the other?
Nothing ever adds up in these videos of what actually happened to each person... I saw a video of Lance Kirklin talking about how he and Daniel were in the hallway when they were shot and Daniel was killed and he was injured but this video doesn’t appear to show them in the hallway... but another video I saw showed that Daniel died in the library....
I'm doing this on witness statements and material evidence. I don't consider how many times people chance their story. As seen by millions of people watching the news that day, Daniel Rohrbough was at the base of the outside staircase when he died.
Great work SGA! Can tell these videos take you a long time to do. Any possibility of you remastering this video with your audio narration, slowed down speed, and other pertinent information?
Peggy Dodd stayed in the periodicals room, and Lisa Kreutz and Patrick Ireland were unable to leave with everyone else. Patti Nielson didn't leave the building, either, but she moved off-camera to the staff break room.
Yes, there were several people who stayed in the main cafeteria area, and were hiding under tables and behind various objects. I believe most, if not, all of these people ran outside after the propane bomb caught fire.
Can you do other non school related mass shootings like Charleston , aurora , El Paso’s , Orlandos these are very disturbing yet so interesting and insightful you do a really good job at giving us an understanding at what these people went through very chilling
@Purple Dyed Ruby She was sitting and eating lunch with two friends. I didn't animate it, but shortly before she was shot, she and her friends got up ran in the direction away from the stairs. Then, she was shot in the back and fell to the ground.
Some of it was guesses, but a lot of it was based on the JeffCo diagrams that I've linked. It's their conclusion based on ballistics, other evidence (like 911 calls and the cafeteria CCTV footage), and witness statements. edition.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2000/columbine.cd/Pages/DIAGRAM_TOC.htm

I am going to be animating bomb explosions and potentially Neil Gartner's police car.
Suzano não é digno! O que aconteceu em Suzano foi uma bela porcaria comparado á Columbine! Suzano foi uma vergonha até pra Columbiners. Eric e Dylan teriam vergonha do Luiz e do Guilherme
I know that you've already done Columbine to death, but it would be nice to see these in your newer format with audio! Also a bit more zoomed in, because I felt this was a bit hard to follow.
Yeah, I would like to do a voiceover with Columbine; my attempt at making the "action" taking up less of the screen made it so that it's hard to follow, as you said. But, I want to make it as accurate as possible, which is difficult.
Hey OP, I know that this video is 5 years old and you probably won't make another remaster of Columbine, but there have been things about this shooting that have really bothered and no one really has the answers to, and I hope that you can answer them and respond to my comment. 1) Did Dylan shoot anyone outside with the Tec-9? He only shot 3 times outside, so he couldn't have shot everyone outside, that was Eric doing almost all the shooting. I think that he might have shot Rachel Scott and also may have shot Anne Marie Hochhalter, but it was Eric who fired the fatal blow to Rachel and also fired the paralyzing shot to Anne. 2) Who really killed Corey Depooter, and shot Austin Eubanks and Jennifer Doyle? The reports say that it was Dylan who killed Corey, but doesn't mention who shot Austin and Jennifer. I really couldn't find any good answer to this question to this, so my guess is that Eric shot all 3 and Dylan shot just Corey and Jennifer, but it was Eric who delivered the fatal shots to Corey. Your video also makes it seem like it was Eric who actually killed Corey. I like your video and it's really detailed, so I hope I get a response from you.
I'll answer your questions to the best of my knowledge. Based on ballistics, the only person Dylan definitely shot outside with the TEC-9 was Richard Castaldo. There was another shot fired in that direction by Dylan, but it may have not hit anybody. There may also have been another person shot down the stairs with one round, but I don't if that round hit anybody or not, since there wasn't any ballistic evidence left to say for certain. I believe that Eric fired at all of the rounds under table 14, and Dylan didn't fire under the table at all. Yes, there are reports that Dylan fired under table 14, but this just isn't backed up by ballistics. Two of the rounds fired at Corey were from the Hi-Point (based on bullets recovered from his body), and the third wound tract had no traceable ballistic evidence recovered in the general area. The wounds of Jennifer Doyle and Austin Eubanks are more-or-less consistent with overlapping with Corey's wounds, as no ballistic evidence was recovered from their wounds and their general proximity. Recovered shell casings also don't support Dylan firing at table 14, as there are no TEC-9 casings recovered in the center section of the library. Hope this response answers your questions.
@@SarinGasAttack Thank you for responding back to my questions! So Daniel Rohrbough, Dave Sanders, and now Corey DePooter. All these people who were thought (and still believed to this day) to have been killed by Dylan, but all of these 3 were actually killed by Eric. Eric shot Lauren Townsend and John Tomlin as well. What are the chances that it was actually Eric who killed those 2? Though I think it was Dylan who killed both of them, as he fired way too many Tec-9 rounds under those tables that killed them. Even Emily Wyant initially believed that it was Dylan Klebold who killed Cassie Bernall, and nobody bothered to tell her the truth until many years later. People who do research and discuss about Columbine like to say that it was Dylan who is actually the more sadistic and dominant of the 2. But when I look further deep into Columbine, reading their journals and comparing the actions of what they were doing during the shooting and even before that, it just reaffirms my belief which is that while Eric Harris may not have been the leader out of the friendship, he 100% was the leader during the shooting. No wonder Sue Klebold, Dave Cullen, friends of Eric and Dylan, and people who knew and interacted with both of them inside or outside the school, every single one of them says that Eric was the dominant leader. Columbine is the most documented school shooting of all time, yet there are still a lot of questions surrounding the shooting that no one really has the answers to this day, and it bothers me a lot. I still have a lot of questions that I wanna ask, but I don’t wanna bother you too much, so I’ll just ask 1 more question. 3) Did the shootings really start at 11:19 AM? Police reports say that they started firing shots at 11:19 AM. However the students inside the cafeteria were still looking outside the windows at 11:22, and they wouldn’t evacuate until 11:24. The cafeteria gets emptied out really quickly, however it would take a minute to do so. Dylan was also reported to have entered the cafeteria for a brief moment and then left when he found it empty. So why did it take 5 minutes for the students inside the cafeteria if they started shooting at 11:19? That's enough time for the shooters to come inside and shoot anyone hiding under the tables after they shot everyone outside. I think it happened at a later time, possibly at 11:21, maybe even at 11:22 because that's when the students inside get down when they possibly saw those kids outside get shot, but if it really started at 11:19 then it's a miracle that no one died in the cafeteria, they really had a lot of time to shoot all those kids outside and then enter the cafeteria full of students.
The SWAT team entered the school on the east side, near the offices, when the shooters killed themselves. Another team entered in the cafeteria an hour afterwards. SWAT wouldn't reach the library until over 3 hours after the shooters' suicides.
If you go to the settings (tap/click the screen and click the gear thing) theres a video speed option, click whichever one is slow or fast enough for you to follow.

Could you do one in time with the actual events. Like however long they were in the library is the same time frame as your video. Basically a 56 (or however long between Scott being killed and their suicides) minute long vid.
Just like the parkland shooting one.
That's what I was thinking. Have it line up with a time stamp. Would also be cool if the 911 call were lined up with the animation as well.
@@jimboramba I know right.
@@jimboramba the full phone call is thirty minutes and they never released it. There isn't much shooting going on in the clip they provide, it's just them entering the library.

What about adding swat, maybe some explosion animation. I just give an idea
They came too late by the time they entered the school everything (the shooting) was pretty much over.
Swat came like two hours later, I mean would be fun to see all the rounds of amo that the swat team recklessly fired into the school
The timing is way off, but other than that it's pretty accurate
After everyone left the library why did the yellow dot at the right stay were they unconscious or something and did they survive?
The yellow dot on the right was Lisa Kreutz, and she wasn't unconscious, but she felt lightheaded when she tried to leave, so she stayed there. She was rescued by SWAT at around 3:30, and was taken to a hospital, where she recovered
Sarin Gas Attack thx
The text went by pretty fast... beside that good work!
Thanks! :) I tried to make the text as slow as I could, so next time, I'll probably do something to slow them down further
It's more creepy to see it by animation. I hope that there are no more shooting killers 😢
They loved to play God. Thats why they have showed mercy

What does that black thing represent, next to the table where Steven Curnow was killed? On the floor.
It's Dylan's trenchcoat
A little late, but a real-time timer in the corner would be a good addition.
I understand though if it would be impractical.
Thanks for the reply!
Yeah I think that’s a good idea too. Do you plan on slowing down the subtitles for you next iteration?
I plan to do a voiceover of it, like the most recent two.
I had to stop after less than two minutes because it's going too fast and I'm a fast reader. Slow it down and this would have been much better
If I added a narration like the Sandy Hook one, would you still want it slowed down?
Sarin Gas Attack yes
Why dont you utilize the playback feature and slow it down a notch or two
Sarin Gas Attack Yes would be perfect, please make another but slower with uninjured victims outside
Cause nobody had the guts to rush em and stop the killing!!
This was a time when school and mass shootings were incredibly rare, in fact this was among the first to get widespread attention, in fact it was only after this shooting that police were trained for these attacks.
Easy to say when you're not in that situation yourself.
I'm just wondering...why was there nobody in the entire rest of the school but those two places?? That seems really bizarre to me
Late response, but it was because I didn't account for anyone but "key" people-injuries, deaths, and library witnesses. To redo an animation with the scope of Columbine and near-complete accuracy would be very time consuming, but possible.
If you put playback speed at 0.25x it moves at a better speed to be able to read it all

great work!!! i love these type of videos
How about the photos of injured and killed, like in the previous versions?
Any ideas and on the other?

what does the jacket on the floor mean? and which color is Dylan
Dylan is blue, and the jacket on the floor is where Dylan removed his trenchcoat
All that time they spent just walking around the school, how do you know where they were? Or is it just a guess to fill up the time?
Some of it was guesses, but a lot of it was based on the JeffCo diagrams that I've linked. It's their conclusion based on ballistics, other evidence (like 911 calls and the cafeteria CCTV footage), and witness statements.

How long was it from when the away team showed up to when the killed themselves?
The SWAT team entered the school on the east side, near the offices, when the shooters killed themselves. Another team entered in the cafeteria an hour afterwards. SWAT wouldn't reach the library until over 3 hours after the shooters' suicides.
