This season has been giving me more riverdale vibes, makes sense since Roberto is a writer. I just feel like it’s missing the slasher element that made season one so captivating.
I’m with you guys - it’s not grabbing me this season either. I think it’s too much cheesy teen drama and not enough goofy slasher stuff like the first season had.
Roberto has made it clear that none of the main girls with die throughout the series, he says they are all final girls and they’ll make it through the series
My biggest complaint so far is that the time is all over. In one shot Chip's tombstone says he passed in 2022. There's also multiple 80's and 90's songs during different scenes. And Mouse's grandma is using a computer with a giant CRT monitor. For me it ties into your observations about how dialogue is forced and too perfect. Everything just doesn't seem natural. I do like the kills so far and I'm glad they've upped the body count. The main girls are pretty fleshed out so the show can focus on how they react to the situations. As far as killers go, no big theories but I would like to see a previous character go heel. I think Mouse's lover or stepmom would work since she had a pretty weak backstory in season 1.
I really hope it’s not Dr. Sullivan. But this is such a love letter to horror that who knows! I’ve already seen some theories from those in the horror twitter space and in the PLL twitter space even thinking it’s her. Annabeth Gish hasn’t actually played a big bad in her horror projects from my understanding. I only REALLY recognize her from the AMC immortal universe about witches and vampires but she’s in other horror stuff too. I never caught on.
It’s my wife’s favorite show. So she would emphatically recommend it. I liked the first season a good amount, and then from there everything was just too weird for weird sake.
You had 1K views on the first video of the first season of this spinoff. You didn’t use hashtags in the title or description. Probably just the IP revival hype or your horror subs were more active and saw it was a slasher. So you probably had those who grew up on the original teen drama mystery watching you, current teens and some older people who were told they went horror that it was now a slasher you can contribute it to.

Funny hearing Archy name being called out constantly. This is like Riverdale’s cousin.
I did not get into the groove in the first two episodes, but hopefully I do in the subsequent episodes.
