Hey man I know this is an old video but I just wanted to let you know it was a big part in justifying purchasing the MGW shifter for my 2013 Grand Sport! Thank you for the in depth review. I hope you still have the car! Im out of chicago but cover Wisconsin for work and plan to track my car at road America next summer
I think you're right on the upper/lower mounting points on the shaft for the shift knob to gain leverage. I installed the MGW shifter with their gripper knob a few months ago, and it's honestly too low and makes shifting more difficult than I would like. I called MGW and they said the height makes a big difference. I think I'm going to switch to the shaft that accepts the stock knob to get some leverage back.
Backyard Boosters Hey thank you! My life priorities have changed a bit in the last year and unfortunately I haven’t had much time for the Z. I’ve only driven her 4 times this summer. 🙁 I’m going to be making a decision soon on whether or not to keep or sell. I can’t even believe I’m saying that but it’s tough to see my car just sit in the garage not being enjoyed.
C6 z06 owners mods not to go aftermarket with 1.shifter 2.NPP exhaust 3.shocks 4.mobil 1 oil 5.stock lowering bolts 6.wheels All these parts I mention should never be modified with after market parts . The reason why is that these factory parts are perfect and no need to swap for cheap parts
no one here is swapping their corvettes with cheaper mods first of all. If anything the mgw shifter is actually nicer than stock and a shorter throw so you can't argue quality and preference for that. Everything else you said is, for the most part, true but none of it is "perfect". Wheels are a big deal for people to make the car "yours" so I don't even know why you would mention that. your comment was pointless because everyone will do what they want with their cars, I highly doubt anyone is gonna see your comment and decide not to mod their car buddy. Now if you wanted to just give your opinion as a suggestion rather than saying "don't do this or your dumb" seems very pretentious and inconsiderate as there are MANY reasons to start putting aftermarket parts on a car. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
4 years old and still one of the dumbest statements on UA-cam. C6 Z06’s are an OLD car now, there’s plenty of room for improvement. I guess the Z06 was so perfect you shouldn’t address head bolt issues either huh?
Excellent video ! Thank you for the good description, vocabulary, and no crazy loud music like so many people do on their presentations. Well done !
I added that shifter to my C6 and I love how precise it is. Enjoyed you video, thanks
I see you got one as well
Your videos are very instructive. Love the discussions.
Great video, very precise and informative!
Jeff Poole thank you!

You’re welcome! Glad the video helped. I did end up selling my Z but I love keeping up with friends and others who still have them.
Great review!

Not sure. I’d reach out to George at MGW.
Where to locate the anti venom mod?thanks
It's just a few washers you buy and install on the transmission detent bolt. Here you go: www.toquez06.com/avm.html
@@ZWHOA6Productions will this procedure in the link work the same on a c6z?
Clutch Carabelli It will for the T56 transmissions I’m the 06-08 Z06s for sure. Not sure about the TR6060 transmissions though.
@@ZWHOA6Productions cool deal, I'm in 07 so I'll try it! Do you go in from underneath the car?
Is there any problems going into reverse?
if I was not convinced, not anymore
