Thanks for this, I'd waded through several articles and videos looking for a clear, direct solution to this but most were hard work to get through and convoluted. Your vid was straight to the point and perfectly explained! cheers! subscribed

Could you, please, answer this quick question: Can I still use this WP Backup Plugin for my WP org based website backup, in a case my website has a hosting server provider outside the WP com? I am grateful for your time given to my question - much appreciated.
WOW!!!!!! This was so incredibly helpful. I followed along with you and created backups of my website through both of these methods. 💯🎯🔥 Your videos are always insightful. You recommend nice and reliable plugins and I can see that you put special emphasis on it. Thank you so much for everything you do, Stewart. Much much appreciated! 🙂🫶🙌
A really easy to understand tutorial, thank you Stewart. One question though (from a novice WordPress user), If my website crashes how do I get into it to be able to restore from the backup?
Thank you, Stewart, for this tutorial, which even I, as a non-techie, understood. I do, however, have one question: what is the benefit of sending the back up to a remote place, like Google Drive? Is it necessary to do both ways of back up? Have a nice day! 😊
Your welcome! It's best to store your backups in a remote place. That way you are not filling up your WordPress database full of backups, also if you cannot access your backups at least you can from your remote storage.
Hi Stewart great video, silly question just wondering in this first example when you use updraft are you saving the backup to your computer or your hosts server? Also using cpanel I gather it is saving backup to your hosts server?
Hey David, You want to save your back up to an external destination, such as Google drive so you do not take up space on your server. Cpanel will be stored on your server. However, you can download both backups from both methods to your computer.
Hey Stewart, Another great video! I have a question. I restored my website from a backup of 3 weeks ago. When I did it completely messed my site up. Is there anyway to reverse the back up and go back to what it looked like before? I did not have a backup stored from today. Hoping to just undo or reverse the backup I did just now.
😭I need help. Im not techy at all. I got that updraft plus and did a backup to google drive but when I went to it went to an empty folder. I cant figure it out. I also tried to backup to my computer disk and it wouldn't let me open it because its connected to internet explorer somehow which isn't supported anymore
@@StewartGauld it was for a client who use an unreliable hosting company. I thought it would be an issue with updraft, or could it possibly be a hosting issue? Thanks in advance bro
@@StewartGauld I think it has something to do with the PHP version of the hosting service where I tried to restore my backup, some plugins I had installed require a more recent PHP version than the 7.4.33. The weird thing is that it did restore them anyway, or maybe there was something I didn't notice.
@@StewartGauld But the good thing with Updraft Plus is that it shows a message saying that the PHP version may cause an issue before clicking on "restore", this is something I didn't find using another plugin called "WPvivid".
Thanks for this - very straight forward for a geriatric novice!!
Welcome!
I love your voice clear and gentle
Thank you 😊 I appreciate it

Hey mate,
Good question. If you cannot access your site, it's best to get in touch with your hosting provider.
@@StewartGauld Thank you, that makes sense now
Thank you very much, saved me a lot of time!! All completed.

Yes it does!
@@StewartGauld Thanks for your reply!

You are so welcome!
Hello this is very helpful thank you!
How does this work when you have multiple wordpress sites in c-panel? Are all wordpress sites backed up?
Hey mate,
No you will need to use this for each WordPress website that you have.
Thank you Stewart, this was really very helpful to a newbie like me :)
Your welcome 🤗
Super helpful, thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Hi Stewart,
Thanks for this guide! Very helpful! Just asking, I can't see backup wizard & back up in my CPanel. How can I have that?
Hey Jacklyn,
You might need to get in touch with your hosting provider.
Thanks,

Hey Jordan,
I'm sorry to hear! This can happen. I suggest reaching out to your hosting provider for support on this.
Thank you so much!!!!
Glad it helped!
Thank you very much :)
Welcome!
is it available only for the Business Plan user?
Correct with WordPress.com
In the first method using the plugin you can choose where to store backup files, in the Cpanel Method can you choose the storage area?
You can store in your home directory and or download onto your computer.
Ur video is awesome
Thanks!
For the second method, I don't have Backup Wizard and Backup under the "file" section in my CPanel. What should I do, please?
Hey mate,
I would reach out to your hosting provider in regards to this.

Yes my son :D
I’m glad!
There is on option to "add new" from plugins on my dashboard. There are no options at all.
What WordPress are you using? .com or .org
I tried Google Drive back up but it didn't work when I went to upload the files for a back up...
Did you get in touch with you host to help out?

I dunno... I made the backups easily enough; but I was unable to restore the websites...
What happened mate?
I had a 504 error but the restauration worked 🤨
Weird! I'll have to look into this.

First we log in to our cPanel....SKIP THE MOST IMPORTANT PART.... and then we....whatever bro...
Sorry? What was your issue?
@@StewartGauld I have a problem locating my cPanel and the part was skipped.
it takes too long and keep failing
