It’s so fantastic to be able to go all the way back to the start of the 60’s to watch these ladies compete for such coveted titles like Miss America!! God bless the people who uploaded these wonderful pagents❤!! I’ve also noticed that Miss USA, Miss Universe ,MissTeen USA and Miss World pageants are also Uploaded for everyone who loves to watch these. From 1960-present!! As a kid I watched on tv every year with great anticipation wishing it were me on stage !! Again thanks a million to all who uploaded these amazing pieces of America’s culture❤❤
yet again, thank you for posting these GEMS!!! i'm grateful for a wonderful way to spend my time sheltering-in-place! it is SO much fun seeing the 'old' Miss Americas in their youth!! every one of them is a true beauty and class act!!! keep posting and i'll keep watching!!! LOVE IT!!!
I am struck by how much smarter and well spoken the women were 60 years ago. Every answer was well said, especially being impromptu. Our education system has failed us.
37:50 Miss California sings Summertime. I wonder if Janis was watching, as 3 short years later she'd be performing it and make it her own classic on 1968's Cheap Thrills. 57:45 Miss Colorado reciting from the play Anastasia, both the lead and the Empress. Only in 1963!
Yes, "there she is" at 7:50. Miss North Carolina 1964, Jeanne Swanner, at 6'2" tall. Her daddy wanted them to put up a basketball goal so she could do hook shots as her talent. She's probably gotten more mileage out of Miss America than Bert Parks!
I like how they recognized Miss District of Columbia and Miss New York City and Miss New York State

I would have liked to have the Aqua Net concession at that pageant.
Bert Parks had a wonderful voice.
7:50 My favorite 6' 2" humorist, Jeane Robertson of Graham, NC!
One of them was 6 foot 2 inches? Wow taker than First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt at 6’.

The contestants looked and walked like robots.
@@tumarbongrox6074No they had class.
I believe it is called good posture..@@tumarbongrox6074
@@notnek202 I agree 100%.
Oh and the great Bert Parks in white tie and tails!
Hawaii was beautiful, but Miss Arkansas's talent and final answer closed the door shut on the rest.
Donna Axum was the Best, the judges picked the right winner
Her speech on humility won it for me!
RIP, Donna Axum. Love the hosts for this particular year.
Beautiful posture!
Marilyn Van Derber ❤️

Was Miss Arizona supposed to be singing - that dancing was sooooo basic
Miss Arizona's "talent" was soooo cringey 😹
